Update Available!
A new Version (4.5.3) of your Enfold Theme is available! You are using Version 4.5.2.
See what’s new in change log. Do you want to update?
But when I update it gives me the error: DOWNLOAD ERROR – FORBIDDEN!Regards,
AxelJanuary 28, 2019 at 11:46 am #1059583Does anybody have an answer to this problem. Still update does not work!

January 29, 2019 at 1:46 pm #1059988Hi there,
if i had those errors sometimes it helps to get a new API token or just try the update with an incognito window of your browser.

AlexJanuary 29, 2019 at 5:30 pm #1060113Hi,
Can you try to update again?
Some users have reported the same but was able to successfully update their site.
There might be some issues with Envato’s server which causes the failure to download and update the theme.
@Alex, thanks for helping out :)Best regards,
NikkoJanuary 29, 2019 at 5:53 pm #1060125Having exactly the same issue – raised a thread but got no response?
I have kept tabs on the responses on other threads. So have attempted to update as per the direction provided by Nikko. I am still getting the same problem “An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. Forbidden”. Tried to follow Alex’s advice, no success trying in incognito either.
Can you give me a link to the download for the .zip file so that I can try and update directly from the zip file.
January 30, 2019 at 7:50 am #1060358Hi there maybe another “solution”
Go to Enfold theme panel –> Update
There should still be the update button for the theme
Delete the Envato private token and click the revalidate or remove button
The update button should still be there (but the token field is empty now) click update theme
You should get the message Theme update successful but should still have the 4.5.2
Now go back to theme panel –> Update
Enter your private token again and hit validate
After that check for theme updates manually till the update button shows up
Click it and update…… hopefully now with no “download failed. Forbidden”Regards
AlexJanuary 30, 2019 at 1:10 pm #1060464Thanks Alex

VictoriaJanuary 31, 2019 at 9:41 pm #1061237Will this be fixed in a future version? What does this workaround specifically do? We have 80+ Enfold sites and I really don’t want to do this to each one.

January 31, 2019 at 10:48 pm #1061290Hey!
It will be added, but I don’t have the ETA for the next update yet.
Cheers!
VictoriaFebruary 1, 2019 at 9:40 pm #1061721I just replaced those files in three 4.5.2 installs and now they won’t show me the update to 4.5.3 as available (even force check/check manually).
February 3, 2019 at 7:42 pm #1062371Hi,
You should try update all the files manually. Should that work?
Best regards,
BasilisFebruary 8, 2019 at 2:35 am #1064383Evendril / Alex’s solution just worked for me. Thanks Alex.
February 8, 2019 at 7:33 am #1064444Hi hawea74,
Thanks for confirming the solution that worked for you :)
Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 8, 2019 at 9:21 am #1064480I also had to replace the files manually but now update of other components like WPML does not work any longer.
I don’t know what will happen, when the next update comes out :(
RegardsFebruary 9, 2019 at 6:12 am #1064861Hi Axel,
So you can’t update WPML anymore? How is that related to the theme you are running?
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 9, 2019 at 12:22 pm #1064921Actually I have no idea. I did what Victoria suggested and manually replaced the files. After that the update of any pulgin (Inkluding WPML) was not possible any longer. Clicking UPDATE did not produce any response at all. So I replaced the files back with the original ones (which I was smart anough to keep) and update worked again…

AxelFebruary 12, 2019 at 3:54 am #1065755Hi Axel,
That’s great to hear, you should do a backup every time before any update or any changes :)
Let us know if you need further assistance.Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 12, 2019 at 11:33 am #1065904That doesn’t solve the problem tough.
Regards, Axel
February 13, 2019 at 10:37 am #1066373Evendril / Alex’s solution worked for me too. Thank you Alex!

February 13, 2019 at 11:14 am #1066402Hi,
@Axel I understand that it didn’t work for you, but restoring your backup and updating again worked for you and we’re glad to hear that and it may also give others ideas that the solution you made works for other people as well.
@benjaminmeier glad to hear that Alex’s solution worked for you :)Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 13, 2019 at 12:28 pm #1066458Well actually I did not update again after going back to the original files because the system did not give me the option to update again. Actually I guess the two files are old now and do not fit to the other updated files. I don’t really know how the update process will behave in thr future. File size is quite different.

February 18, 2019 at 2:40 am #1068088Hi Axel,
I apologize for the delayed response. Can you try to do this procedure instead? (download first the latest version of Enfold in themeforest).
1. Switch to a default wordpress theme like twentynineteen
2. Delete the outdated Enfold theme
3. Upload the latest version of Enfold (enfold.zip) then set it as the active theme again.Best regards,
Nikko -
