    Hey there! I was adding some graphics to the layer slider on the home page and went to save when WordPress crashed on me and threw a “fatal error”. The frontend is working fine, and all of the backend seems to be fine – except for the “edit” option on the actual Homepage Page. I got on with Host Gator support and they tried changing deactivating the plugins, and also playing with the PHP speeds – nothing fixed it. Any idea what I can do to fix this issue??

    Sorry for the problem. First off, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.7.2) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.

    Hey Rikard,

    Thanks for the message. I have now updated the theme to the latest version and it is still throwing the same error on the backend of the “Home” page when I try to edit. I did clear the cache and cookies from my browser and the wordpress website. No luck.

    This is the error message:

    Sorry for the problem.

    I tried to add a fix in your backend but I cannot modify the php file in theme editor.

    Please replace enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/php/shortcode-template.class.php with

    https://github.com/KriesiMedia/enfold-library/blob/master/temp_fixes/Enfold_4_7_2/shortcode-template.class.php.

    Do not forget to make a copy of the original file for a fallback.

    If you want us to do the update please provide ftp credentials.

    Hi Basilis,

    No, I did not replace the code myself… Gunter said “If you want us to do the update please provide ftp credentials.” – So i provided him with the credentials… Can you please FTP in and help me apply the code?

    The FTP redirects to an empty folder. Please check the user account and make sure that it has access to the right directory.

    This got a little too complicated for me – sorry. I just rebuilt a new homepage and deleted the one that was throwing the error. This seems to address the issue. Thanks.
