    Hi,

    I am trying to update the theme to 4.5 but it is giving error: An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.

    My Avia Builder has disappeared after WP update to 5.0

    Can you please look into it?

    Hi Xandria

    This error happens because themeforest changed their API. Therefore you need to update Enfold manually, I recommend using (S)FTP to do that.

    Oh Michael, thank you but this is a lot of stress. I am just a simple artist. I don’t get it why can’t I just change the API?
    If I delete the current theme and upload the new one, what if the site backup is not compatible with it?
    Shouldn’t Enfold devise an easier one click solution? Why is the world going backward in time :(

    I hope there’s an easier way.

    Hi Xan

    I know – updating via FTP for “normal” users is quite tricky.
    In fact, there is another approach to solve this which has also been recommended in different threads here in the forum. You can use a plugin to upgrade your theme. However, I have not used this solution by myself. Therefore I can’t tell you if it works or not.

    Hi Michael,

    Thank you for your support. I have installed the plugin and downloaded the theme’s updated version (4.5) from the themforest.

    I guess now I have to add it through Add New in themes?

    Hi Xandria,

    Yes that is correct, you would upload it like it’s a new theme:

    – Make sure this plugin is installed and activated.
    – Download zip file of your theme’s most recent version.
    – Log in to WordPress as and Admin and go to Appearance > Themes.
    – Click on the ADD NEW button.
    – Click on the UPLOAD THEME button.
    – Click BROWSE and choose your zip file you downloaded.
    – Click the INSTALL NOW button

    Great, best of luck to you. If you want to play it safe then I would recommend that you update on a staging version of the site first.

    You can go to Appearance > Themes and click “Add new” and then click “upload” on top :)
