    Hey Kriesi-Team,
I installed the Plugin “Instagram Feed” from Smash Ballon, but it is not working properly. The “follow me” button is working, but no images can be shown on my website and the following error occurs: no images available at the moment. Can you help me out with this please? Thanks in advance, Lea

    Hi Lea,

Please reach out to the developers of the plugin, we can’t be responsible for their product.

    Best regards,

Thanks for the reply! I talked to my friend who is helping me with the website and it turned out that I got something wrong… We are using the instagram plugin featured by the enfold-theme. Can you help me with that? The error is like described in the previous message! I could send you a screenshot of the error if that helps.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Thanks for the clarification, that we can help with yes. First off, could you try to update to the latest version of the theme to see if that helps please? The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

If that doesn’t work then please delete the old version of the theme, then upload the new one. Make sure that you have backups of the site before you start updating.

Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Dear Rikard,

    thanks for you reply!

This error exists from the very first moment. We already did quite a few updates and it didnt change anything. My friend had the same problem using the enfold theme and told me that the problem was solved by the kriesi-support remotely. Is there anything you can do from your side?

    Thank you in advance,

    Best regards
    Lea

    Hi Lea,

Thanks for the feedback, we can’t support old versions of the theme though. Is there a reason why you don’t want or can’t update the theme?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

Im afraid the reason is that I dont understand how it works. I checked the links you sent me, but unfortunately I dont understand the instructions. Do you have a step-by-step instruction for me to help me with doing a back up and the update, please? Sorry, this is my first website…

    Best regards
    Lea

    Hi lealemang,

Here is a step by step procedure to update the theme:

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    #1092636

    Dear Victoria,

thank you so much, but this is way to complicated for a beginner like me. I uploaded the recommended plug in now, as it appears to be the easier and safer option. Is that right? But now I dont understand how to proceed. So can you please provide information to update via the plug in?

    Thanks and best regards,
    Lea

    Hi,

If you give us FTP access to your server and a WP admin account for your backend our moderators can do the update of the theme for you.

Make sure you have a complete backup of your database and theme files for a fallback in case something goes wrong. We need to take your site offline during the update.

Provide the credentials in private content.

    Best regards,
    Günter

    Dear Günter,
thank you very much for offering your help with the update. But Iam still lost. I dont know how to give you FTP access to my server and also not sure about the WP admin account (do you mean my login data for wordpress?) I did a back up with “UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore-Plugin” and downloaded the folders “database” and “theme”, but it still makes me very nervous, that you say that something can go wrong. Is there any easier or safer way?

    Best regards,
    Lea

    Hi Lea,

If you don’t have FTP access details then you should be able to get them from your hosting provider, either in the backend or from their support. As for WordPress access then you can simply add a new user to WordPress with admin rights, then post the details here in private.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard, thank you!

I am slowly getting there ;-) Please find the deatils in private content.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

The FTP details seem to be incomplete. Please ask your hosting provider if they can generate a new FTP account for you so that we can access the file server and update the files. We recreated a backup of the database and the content files using the UpdatedPlus plugin. We can proceed with the update once we received the FTP details.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi,

Thank you very much for your help! I asked my hosting provider and got more details. Please refer to private content. Is this what you need to access?

    Best regards,
    Lea

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. We are currently uploading the latest version of the theme to your server. We’ll give you an update once it’s done.

    Best regards,

Hi, thank you very much! It seems like the update was successful. Also the problem with instagram is solved! Thanks a lot!

I have one more question regarding the theme: There is this white horizontal line in the header pictures. It is visable especially on my home page, but also the other header pictures have this horizontal break. Is there a way to delete this line?

    Best regards
    Lea

    #1097402

    Hi Lea,

Great, I’m glad that Ismael could help you out.

About the white line, do you mean the one just under your menu when it’s transparent?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1098483

    Hi Rikard,

Yes exacly, I mean the one just under the menu. Is it always there when transparent or is it possible to hide this line even when transparent?

    Best regards,
    Lea

    #1098895

    Hi Lea,

Please try this in Quick CSS to remove the border completely:

    .av_header_with_border.av_header_transparency #header_main {
        border: none !important;
    }

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1099398

    Hi Rikard,

I did, but the line is still there. Any other option?

    Thanks and best,
    Lea

    #1099667

    Hi Lea,

It’s not there on my end, please clear your browser cache and reload the page to see if that helps.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1099737

    Hi Rikard,

thank you! You are right – the line on the first page (home) is gone. Awesome! But on the other pages there are still breaks in the header pics visible. Is it possible to remove them either?

Thank you very much for your support!

    Best regards
    Lea

    #1099896

    Hi Lea,

Thanks for the update, do you mean the white overlay on the page in private for instance? If so, do you want to remove that as well?

    Best regards,
    Rikard
