    Hey there.

I’m trying to edit my site, both live and staging at http://staging.sincere-week.flywheelsites.com and get the same problem in both environments, even after updating plugins in staging and on every page.

The page editor won’t load correctly, so the little wheel keeps spinning incessantly and I can’t edit the pages. See my annotated screenshot below. Last night it spun like that for a couple of hours. Here is a link to a screenshot that shows what it’s doing: https://www.screencast.com/t/Mh9r0GuR

I asked Flywheel, our host, for help, and here is their reply:

“An issue like this is usually either the result of memory exhaustion, a plugin conflict, or a PHP error. I’ve increased the memory limit to mitigate that as a possible cause, but did notice the following error:
    `
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /www/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/php/shortcode-template.class.php:489
    `
Usually the solution here would be to re-upload the theme in question, or update it to the latest version (if an update is available). This is very likely the source of the trouble, so you’d want to reach out to the Enfold developers for any further insight if issues persist (I imagine they’ve seen this before and would have a solution for you).”

    Any suggestions for me?

    Thanks!

    Hey Arrastia,

it seems (as it is both staging and live ) that the issue is related ot the hosting provider.
What is the php memory limit and what is the php version?

    Best regards,
    Basilis

Here is what my hosting company, Flywheel, said in response to your questions about php memory and version…

    Hi Armando,
Thanks for that updated info. Here’s the PHP memory limit and version details:
PHP Memory Limit: 384M (this is set the same for live and staging)
    PHP Version: 7.1
We noticed that the version of Enfold running on live and staging is 3.71. From what we can see here, the current version of Enfold is 4.4:
    https://themeforest.net/item/enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4519990
It also looks like they recently had a performance update, so updating that theme should help.

Please note that I am running Enfold version 3.7.1 . The theme update section in the theme settings reads, “No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (3.7.1)”.

However, I have another website, http://www.congletonlumber.com, which is also running the Enfold theme, and it too says I have the latest version: “Theme Updates
No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (4.2.6)” That site seems to be working correctly.

Please advise. Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. You may need to update theme manually via FTP. These resources will guide you through it.
