I tried to set up an Enfold child theme this evening – very belatedly, I’ve had my site up 6 months. I was too nervous to do this when I first started. I’ve now moved all my custom code into the functions.php child file and a lot of custom CSS.

However, when I try to activate the child theme, it completely ruins all selections and settings that I have done in the parent theme using the enfold admin tools. Even the logo reverts back to an Enfold logo.

Do I need to redo all the formatting and settings and logo etc. (many hours work I fear) or is there a way to import what I’ve done into the child theme? Fingers crossed, I hope so. Any advice much, much appreciated. I’m a bit stumped.

You can export and import the theme settings. You can also import the settings from the parent theme.

Please refer to @chrgrv post above and import parent theme settings in Enfold child theme options > Import & Export tab :)

    Thanks for your help!

That’s wonderful! Thank you very much for your help.

    You are welcome! :)

For your information, you can take a look at Enfold documentation here – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/
