Hi,
what is your option “Merging CSS & JS” in Enfold-Settings–Performance exactly supposed to do and how do i test/proof/check/ if it really is doing it?

It does merge and compress CSS and JS files of the theme when enabled. You can check it on website speed tests after enabling. Please also see – https://kriesi.at/archives/scoring-100-100-in-google-pagespeed-insights-gtmetrix-pagespeed-and-yslow :)
