January 15, 2020 at 5:10 pm #1174612Hi,
I updated Enfold to the latest version 4.7.1 on your installation however icon issue you are having is not theme related.
Please refer to this post – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/icon/#icons-are-showing-as-rectangular-boxes-Best regards,
YigitJanuary 15, 2020 at 5:26 pm #1174619Yigit, i tried provided fix where you add code to .htaccess file… its still not working. We never had any issues with icons prior to these latest updates in the last few weeks… what else can be happening? Aside from icons not showing up, entire icons field where you edit and choose icons are completely empty in Avia builder… not sure what else we can do to fix it…?
January 16, 2020 at 9:41 am #1174793Hi,
The browser is blocking the icon file since it’s being served from a different domain, please see private for the full URL and error message. The solution Yigit posted last should work for that though. Are you using a CDN from WPengine? If so then please try to turn that off, or reach out to WPengine support to see if they can help you out with that.
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 16, 2020 at 5:30 pm #1175136Rikard,
Ive contacted WPengine support and we turned off CDN BUT IT HAS NOT HELPED.. They also added code change provided by Yigit to the backend and it made no difference. I AM AT THE END OF OPTIONS TO TRY here.. If you see below, our staging website looks fine: https://flyworxstaging.wpengine.com/ (hosted on WPengine) What else can we do?
We also purchased support from Envato market.. where can we request help?
January 17, 2020 at 7:09 am #1175260Hi,
Thanks for the update, though the files in question are still being served from a domain which is different from your actual domain. They are being blocked by the browser for that reason, so this is not a theme problem. Please see screenshot in private. Why are the files being served from there to begin with if you have turned of the CDN?

We are offloading storage of the site to amazon AWS to keep our cost lower… could this be causing an issue?
January 18, 2020 at 8:17 am #1175769Hi,
I guess that could be the reason, yes. Could you try to at least serve the theme files from the actual domain?

@NEveleth I checked your website and icons show up fine on my end. Could you please post a screenshot and show the issue you are having? You can upload your screenshots on imgur.com or Dropbox public folder and post the links here.Best regards,
YigitMay 27, 2020 at 11:05 am #1216893Sorry to bore everyone but I have the same problem – all my icons are missing. I had this problem previously and fixed it with the CSS icon fix code. Unfortunately it has returned. I have updated WordPress and the theme – 5.4.1 and 4.7.5 respectively. I have removed the old CSS as thread states new theme version does not require the fix. I added the suggested code to the htacccess file at previous fix. Not sure what else to do. All I get are rectangles!

May 27, 2020 at 5:26 pm #1217065Hi HarleyBM1,
You need to check with your CDN provider what headers are they serving since not the icons are served by them and not your server.
Best regards,
VictoriaMay 28, 2020 at 8:40 am #1217264Thanks Victoria. I understand the icons come from a different server. I am not sure what you mean by checking the headers that are being served. I host with GoDaddy on a managed WordPress site and use their CDN.
May 28, 2020 at 5:01 pm #1217428Hi HarleyBM1,
It means the CDN does not set the appropriate header. You need to write to their support and ask about it.
Best regards,
VictoriaMay 29, 2020 at 1:56 pm #1217697As I said, not sure what “CDN appropriate headers” are. So I turned the CDN off and the site worked. So does this theme not work with CDNs?
May 31, 2020 at 6:00 pm #1218220Hi HarleyBM1,
The theme works with CDN, but if the CDN does not serve content with necessary headers that CDN will not work for you.
Best regards,
VictoriaJune 1, 2020 at 6:40 am #1218324I would have thought the Go Daddy CDN would have been pretty standard/generic. There must be hundreds of people who use this theme and also host on Go Daddy. I guess I will have to find another theme or solution. Thanks anyway.
June 2, 2020 at 6:41 am #1218640Hi HarleyBM1,
This problem is not theme specific, as it’s the browser which is blocking the resource if it’s not loaded from your actual site URL or if the proper headers are missing. I see that icons are loading on your site now though, so I’m guessing you managed to find a solution?
Best regards,
RikardJune 2, 2020 at 7:50 am #1218654Hi Rikard
Thanks for your email. It is working now because I have turned off the CDN. So Victoria was right I guess when she said it was the CDN headers. However, I am not sure how to edit them or how to get someone else to do it. If you have any ideas I would be grateful.
Thanks
June 3, 2020 at 5:45 am #1218911Hi HarleyBM1,
The solution we have is to allow CORS: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/icon/#icons-are-showing-as-rectangular-boxes-. If that is not working on your site then I think you would have to reach out to GoDaddy for a more specific solution.

Please refer to this post – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/icon/#icons-are-showing-as-rectangular-boxes- and add the code to your .htaccess file and that should fix the issue :)
