    Dear team,

I am using the future/coming events on the home page pulling events from the events calendar plugin.
Suddenly it stoped working properly. For example:
The event goes from 29th March-10th April.
Today is the 1st of April, so it should stil show it.

I downgraded the events calendar and emptied the cache thousand times but it didn´t help.
The only way is to set a single future date.

By the way, the events calendar (version 5.5.0) caused a mess on single events so I had to roll back to an older version.

    Thank you
    Asterios

    Hey Asterios,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

The upcoming event element can only display the latest event, but not recurring on repeated events. This is the same issue that was reported in the following thread.

    // https://kriesi.at/support/topic/latest-event-not-showing-when-using-upcoming-events/#post-1244278

For the events countdown element, please upgrade the theme to version 4.8.1.

    Hello Ismael,

    thank you for the informations.
I see, it doesn´t support repeated events.

    The second issue
I was not talking about the countdown but about the single events. I am using the latest Enfold and if I update the events calendar to the 5.5.0 the single event looks really really bad. It breaks the design and that is why I went back to 5.4.0.2.
I have made two screenshots of the old and the new version:

I guess I have to open a new thread for that…

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

Would you mind providing a direct link to one of the events with the layout issue? It might have something to do with the updated calendar design. Please make sure that the site contains the latest version of the theme, 4.8.1, then try to disable the updated calendar design option in the Events > Settings > Display panel.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Good morning Ismael,

the screenshots are both from the “new design” of TEC. You had recently (thank you again for that) fixed it:
    https://kriesi.at/support/topic/the-events-calendar-new-design/#post-1275920

I am using Enfold 4.8.1 and here is a live example of the design issues using the latest plugin version:

Do you think it is possible to keep the new design with the latest version?
If not, I will just go back to 5.4.0.2.

    Hi,

    Thank you for following up.

Do you think it is possible to keep the new design with the latest version?

The updated calendar design should work fine on Enfold v4.8.1, as long as there are no modified event templates in the child theme. Did you modify any of the event template files (e.g default-template.php)?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #1293472

    Hi Ismael,

no, I didn´t change anything in the templates.

    Hi,

That is odd. It should be working properly now with the latest version. Would you mind providing the WP and FTP login details in the private field? We would like to check the issue further. The site is also asking for an htaccess authentication. You may need to include that info as well.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

We modified the avia_events_template_paths_v2 function in the functions.php file a bit as described here.

    // https://kriesi.at/support/topic/the-events-calendar-new-design/#post-1277995

The updated calendar design is now working properly, without breaking the single event page.

    Ismael

    Hi,

UPDATE: It turned out, I was just looking on a cached version of the page. The event view is still broken after editing the functions.php file. We temporarily disabled the updated calendar design.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

    thank you for the update.
I will not touch anything and will just wait for your next reply.

Info P.S. Just saw that the people behind “TEC” will deactivate the old design on 3rd of August 2021.

    Hello everyone,

is anyone still looking for a fix?

    Thank you
    Asterios

    #1295058

    Hi,

Yes, we are still looking on it. Unfortunately, the filter that we previously used is no longer working. Please keep the updated calendar design disabled temporarily.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hey,

Could you please check FTP logins again? They work however path seems to be wrong. We are going to need to upload V2 template files :)

    Hi Asterios,

    Thanks!
I have uploaded the files and enabled updated views. Could you please review your website? :)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    #1295355

    Hi Yigit,

    thanks for the fast reply.
I just checked and to be honest it doesn´t look like it used to be.
The font is bigger, the font color is darker and the details are now at the bottom.

If there is no other way to change this, I can live with this, really.
If you can think that something can be done, I will be greatful for this.

    Thank you anyway
    Asterios

    Hi,

    Thank you for your patience.

We updated the config-events-calendar/event-mod.css file to bring back the old or default layout of the single event page. Please make sure to purge the cache before checking the event.

This is the modified css file.

    Hello Ismael,

yes, it look much better. Thank you very much for your efforts.

Could you please tell me one more thing?
At the bottom there is still the heading “Event Navigation” or in this case in german “Veranstaltungs Navigation”.
You have set the navigation to not be shown, so I would like to hide the heading too.
Where can I find the file for this?
I suppose I will do it with this code:

    #tribe-events-footer {
    display: none;
    }

    Is this right?

    Best Regards
    Asterios

    #1296335

    Hi Asterios,

Could you please download this zip and replace it with /enfold/config-events-calendar/ folder – https://www.mediafire.com/file/z4jj6py9oxe5ohx/config-events-calendar.zip/file?
This includes Ismael’s event-mod.css file and also would remove “Event Navigation”, loading gif on events view and move Related Posts to below even content as it was in default Enfold single event layout :)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    #1296602

    Hello Yigit,

thank you for the file provided, it has helped!

The only thing left to do is to change the font size and colors like it used to be but I will fix this myself.
    Don´t bother.

I would like to thank you and Ismael for the great support…once again :-)

Have a nice day and stay healthy
