    Hi guys,

    I have looked around, did all these steps; https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/contact-form/# but for some reason, I can’t get the e-mails to work on this: https://employerbranding.be/quick-scan-aanvraag/ and this https://employerbranding.be/masterclass-registratie/ page.

    Can you please help me?

    Hey LodiPlanting,
    Sorry for the late reply and thank you for the login, first I see that you are using v4.5.2 and recommend updating to v4.6 which includes quite a few fixes. (please see the updating note below)

    Then I recommend installing the plugin WP Mail Logging to see if WordPress is sending the emails, often if it is getting an error it will also show this in the log.

    If WordPress is sending the mail your webhost may require a reply-to or other fields in the mail header, or a matching domain as the server, as a spam deterrent, please ask about their requirements. (I see that your mail server in on .nl but your mail address is .be)

    — updating —
    v4.5.2 must be updated via ftp, if you would like assistance with this please let us know.

    The easiest and safest way to update is to download the newest version from Theme Forest and rename your current theme to “enfold-old” via ftp then upload the new “enfold” and check that your site is working correctly.
    Should you wish to roll-back to the old version, it’s easy to do, simply rename the new “enfold” to “enfold-new” via ftp and then rename “enfold-old” to “enfold” then refresh your page.
    Please don’t try to overwrite the theme folder, as this will leave old files behind and cause errors.

    Thank you for the FTP access, I updated your theme and gave it a quick check and it seems to be working correctly, but please check yourself. Please try installing the WP Mail Logging plugin. Also please ask your webhost if they require a reply-to or other fields in the mail header, or a matching mail domain to the server.

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for your effort. I have installed WP Mail Logging and tested the form for the Quick Scan: https://employerbranding.be/employer-branding-quick-scan/ and there are some weird things.

    1. It’s not showing up in WP Mail Logging.
    2. It’s not showing in my webmail.
    3. I did receive an e-mail as as an administrator.
    4. I did not receive an e-mail as the client (the person who filled in the contact form).

    Besides that, I have noticed some weird things after the update.

    1. The videos were lazy loading and now they just turned into imaged (without play button), but more importantly if you click on the image/video they redirect to Vimeo (our videos are hosted there). Whilst they should play directly from the website.

    2. The cookie bar message has changed it’s lay-out and is popping-up all the time (even when you accept the cookies).

    Hi,
    Thank you for the feedback and installing the plugin, I first tested your SMTP plugin which has a test function, and this worked well, I received the email and it was logged.

    then I created a test page with a simple contact form and the email was logged going outbound.
    I then tested your “Quick Scan” form, but it didn’t work, until I copied your form and removed the “Ik ga akkoord met de algemene voorwaarden” which had HTML (a link in the title).
    Please give this a test and let us know if you received any of the emails.

    Hi Mike,

    I have deleted the hyperlink (html) from the form and tested again. Nothing happened.
    I have used your test page. Instant message in webmail and my inbox. So what goes wrong?
    Why does a simple contact form work and one a bit more complicated doesn’t?

    I see that you are using Enfold v4.6, but we found an issue and released v4.6.1 on 09/05, please try updating to this version, and if this doesn’t help then I will ask the rest of the team to review. Please note that the download at Theme Forest may say v4.6, but this was a typo.

    Hi Mike,

    Sorry for my late response (holiday). I just updated the theme. It still says 4.6 as you said but there are no shown updates to the theme.
    However, the issue remain the same. I filled in the contact form on https://employerbranding.be/quick-scan-aanvraag/ got to the thank you page but I received no e-mail as a guest nor as an administrator. So can you please see what’s going wrong?

    i had the issue where the hosters spam-filter caught those emails. (log into your back end and see the email spam settings) I had to lower the theshhold for when something was spam AND had to whitelist my own domain. Did you try that?

    The spam filter has the lowest threshold. There is something structural not working in the contact form. Mike has looked at it before, but that solution didn’t work. Can you please have another look Mike?

    The latest version is actually 4.6.3.1, but the update is not appearing on the backend of your installation for some reason. Could you try disabling the security plugin you have active to see if that is blocking the request maybe?

    Hi Rikard,

    Done, deleted cache but nothing happened. Feel free to update the theme over FTP (but I don’t know how to do that).
    Any other solution? I don’t have the same problem on other websites with a similar contact form.

    I have tried to upload version 4.6.3. via FTP following these instructions: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/ but I received the style sheet error message while I have only uploaded the extracted theme files.

    Can you please help asap as the website is now offline?

    Sorry for the late reply, I took a look via ftp and found you current version in the folder “enfold” was missing many files, so I renamed it “enfold-missing” and renamed “enfold-october” to “enfold” basically rolling the update back, your site is now working. Please try uploading your new version again via ftp.

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for helping out. I am happy the website is online again and I have the newest version.
    However the initial problem with the contact form isn’t resolved. It’s still doesn’t send any e-mails.

    Can you guys help please?

    Hi,
    Sorry for the late reply, I tested the test contact form that I had added with only the name & email address fields and it again worked while your large form didn’t, so I Enabled the Avia Layout Builder Debugger and copied your form to the test page a started removing elements until your form worked and isolated that when the fields that were validated with “valid number” were changed to “not empty” the form worked:

    Aantal medewerkers:
    Aantal aanwervingen per jaar:
    so I made this change to your active form and it is now working, please check.
    I will let the dev team know about this so they can check this validation, thank you for your patience throughout this issue.
