The Comments Box in the Advanced Editor doesn’t show at all (eg Please leave a Comment..) unless there is a Comment created in the Standard Editor.

An update.
I created a cloned site and de-activated every plugin; this is what the Comments box looks like – you can see it’s still not right
Bear in mind that that the Sample Comment could only be created by reverting to the Standard Editor

Individual Posts…all have the Comments allowed, and no “Closing after xxx days”
In the Advanced Editor, the Posts do not show ‘Post a Reply’ and they do show Comments closed
When we revert to the Standard Editor, the behaviour is normal, as per the screenshot – so the issue is the Advanced Editor Comments Module ?

Try to add that filter in the functions.php file then let us know if it changes anything.
