    Hi I cannot update my site.

    The page looks different to normal from the back end. I can see both a box saying classic edit and the Avia layer editor, which I usually use, on the same page.

    I cannot open the Avia layer editor, and any changes I try to the classic edit instead do not update,

    I am trying to update the page in the Private Content

    I can see there is a theme update due but when I try to update it says a valid URL is not available

    Please advise

    Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
      ( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

    When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
    If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Hi Jenny,

    I see that you are running an old version of the theme, could you try to update to the latest version (4.5.6) to see if that helps please? The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

    You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

    If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.

    After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.

    Thank you Rikard I followed all the instructions. The upload wet to 100% then said the link expired and it hasn’t updated. I don’t know how to delete the whole theme folder and replace it with the new one. please can you advise

    Sorry for the problem, you will have to do the update manually then. We can help you out with that if you like, though we will need FTP login details and a verification that you have backups of the site in case something should go wrong.

    Hi RIkard I have back ups. Where do I find my FTP log in details? Also I cam across thsi thread. Should I follow the advice to contact my server provider?

    Hi Jenny,

    If you are able to follow the suggestions in that thread then please try it out. If you don’t have FTP login details then you should be able to get them from the backend of your hosting provider, or if you contact them directly.
