    Hey!

I’m trying to include a background video (via Vimeo) that starts out muted but allows users to unmute and also allows them use of the controls to use closed captioning (already set up in Vimeo).

The site I’m working on is http://nazortho.com. Currently I’ve got the video playing (muted) and I’ve used another thread on this forum to attempt to add a mute/unmute button. But while the button is there, nothing is actually happening.

    Thread I used: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/adding-audio-option-on-fullscreen-background-video/

I’ve also tried to change video controls in section.php from ‘video_controls’ => ‘disabled’, to ‘video_controls’ => ”, but nothing happens.

Can someone tell me how to make the mute/unmute function work and preferably also include Vimeo’s closed captioning option?

    Hey svortho,

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Yep. Included in private box.

Also, the client just asked if there’s a way to tell the video to resize for mobile, so would love to know if that’s possible.

    Hi svortho,

Where did you add the code?

Please update the theme to the latest version. That should fix any issues you are currently experiencing :)

To update to the latest version follow the simple instructions here. (Or if you want the super detailed explanation you can read this blog post)

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hey Victoria!

The client decided they’re okay with no sound (hoorah!) so I’ve fixed that. But they do want the video to resize for mobile. Can you give me some direction on that?

    Hi,

Unfortunately, it would require quite some time and customization of the theme to achieve this, so I am sorry to tell you that this is not covered by our support. However, if it’s really important for you to get this done, you can always hire a freelancer to do the job for you :)

    Best regards,

Okay. Thanks. I’ll talk to the client.

Also, it would be a nice option in a future theme update.

I agree, it would be a very nice option. Please let us know if you should need any further help on the topic.

    Best regards,
