– At the end of each “Beitrag”, there are error-messages, that say:Warning: Illegal string offset ‘shortcodehandler’ in /home/httpd/vhosts/XXXXX.ch/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/php/shortcode-template.class.php on line 480

January 20, 2020 at 6:02 am #1176202Hey Myanaconda,
Sorry for the problem. I see that you are running an old version of the theme, could you try to update to the latest version (4.7.1) to see if that helps please? The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

I see that the WordPress admin pages are not accessible, did you try to completely delete the theme folder, then upload it again via FTP?
We can help you out with updating but we need a verification that you have backups of the site. It would help if we had access to the WordPress backend as well.

RikardJanuary 25, 2020 at 12:09 am #1178237Hi Rikard
Yes I did delete the enfold theme folder. In all I tried several things:
1. delete enfold folder by ftp and install new
2. overwrite enfold folder by ftp
3. deactivate enfold in the wp admin and install new
4. install new zip with pluginEverytime it didn‘t work anymore.
I now have run a backup and you can access FTP and WordPress backend with the credentials I have posted in a private entry in my earlier posts. I just have this one backup – the website works properly but the problems with updating / creating content still exist.
I would be grateful, if you could help out with updating and fixing the problems:
– If I open a “Beitrag”, the content is not loading (loader spinning)
– At the end of each “Beitrag”, there are error-messages, that say e.g.:Warning: Illegal string offset ‘shortcodehandler’ in /home/httpd/vhosts/kfg-kirchberg.ch/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/php/shortcode-template.class.php on line 480
– If I want to create an new “Beitrag”, the text in the editor is invisible (white text on white background) so that I cannot do this.
– In the editor it doesn’t show the menu bar (bold / italic / quote / link etc.) anymoreThanks a lot for helping!
Best regards,
Claudio
January 26, 2020 at 6:35 am #1178436Hi,
Thanks for the update. I tried logging into WordPress but I get redirected to the front page each time I try to reach the login page. Have you changed the login URL or are you blocking some IP ranges maybe?

Thanks for the update, though I’m still being redirected to the homepage when trying to access to the login page. Are you sure that you have not changed the login URL to something else than the default WordPress login URLs?

RikardJanuary 29, 2020 at 10:10 pm #1179615Hi Rikard
Strange thing. I could access only by iPhone, but not by Desktop. I now have deactivated the “iThemes Security”-Plugin – now the login works again.
Please try it once again.Best regards,
Claudio
January 31, 2020 at 6:06 am #1180165Hi Claudio,
Thanks for the update. I uploaded the latest version of the theme and tried to activate it, but I get the same error message as you did. Could you restore the site from your backup please? Also, I think the WordPress version might be the problem here. Could you try updating that first to see if that helps maybe?
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 1, 2020 at 8:21 pm #1180544Hi Rikard
I have made the backup and I have made the Upgrade of WordPresse. Please go ahead. I hope we can fix the problem now.
Best regards,
Claudio
February 2, 2020 at 1:43 pm #1180660Old content is NOT LOADING on backend after WordPress 5.3.2. and Enfold 4.7.2 – you had that problem all year 2019 – version 4.5.7. is the last stable version. ( no problem when you make a new page – existing pages do not respond as they should ) is there coming a fix in 2020??
