    Hey fidesio!

    Thank you for using Enfold.

I was able to access the checkout page although I got an error from the wordfence security plugin. Please contact the plugin author regarding the issue:

    Hi there awesome Enfold team.

I’ve been having an issue with Wordfence. After a scan has been performed, if it picks up that a file has changed, there is a ‘view how file has changed’ tab. When this is clicked it just bring up the home page rather than the chosen file.

Wordfence seem to think this is a compatability issue with the Enfold theme as it works correctly when another theme is seleted.

They have asked if i can send them a zipped file of the Enfold theme for them to try and re-create the issue on their test server. Are you happy for me to send it to them? I didn’t want to violate any license agreements.

Alternatively, do you have any suggestions on how to fix the issue? For some reason it’s only happening on one of my sites, I run 3 others with Enfold and Wordfence without any issues.

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hey Jimmy,

I get an error message from WordFence when trying to access your, do you have any country restrictions active? The moderators are located all over the world so it might be a good idea to lift the access ban until we have finished helping you out.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

Where am I with my problem now you ask. I’m exactly where I was when I started on the last post. Nothing has been fixed. I tried to use the <h4> header to illustrate the problem and allow you to recreate it quickly. However, it happens anytime I create a new page with any complexity. Post or page, it still locks Avia Editor in an endless loop. So your advice about trying to create a new page doesn’t help. I’ve done that at least half a dozen times and it always locks up.

It seems like there has been a disconnect in the support I have been receiving from you. I have been asked to do things by many support techs but no one seems to follow through. It is like no one reads the rest of the thread before giving new advice that really isn’t based on a thorough review of the problem. I have been asked to do the following:
    1. Disable plugins (done)
    2. Disable Wordfence so you can login (done)
    3. Provide a login ID (done)
    4. Have my hosting service create a PHP INFO file (done)
    5. Try to explain what creates the problem (done-many times)

But yet, I can’t seem to get anyone who follows-up on the items above. I’m not sure if anyone has really looked carefully at this issue. Is there a Level 2 support that I can be sent to? I really fell helpless here because I’ve bought your product, invested thousands of dollars of time in creating the site, and I’m stuck with Enfold. So there’s really no way that I can solve the problem on my own with out starting with a new theme company and spending thousands of dollars to re-create a new site. I was under the impression when I bought Enfold that I would be able to get support if there was a problem. So I’m hoping that we can solve this. I would REALLY, REALLY appreciate it if someone could sincerely help with this problem by looking carefully at all that I have written and done here.

    Thank you.

In reply to: Weird display issues

    Hi,
My client is on GoDaddy (problem #1). But something we can’t change for now.

He was running W3 Total Cache, but I deactivated it for development. He’s also running Wordfence Security, which I’ve noticed has it’s own cache folder.

Hopefully that helps – not sure what I should do.

    Thanks!

Hi – as I have a pretty complex .htaccess file (I use Wordfence and have a few seo redirects) could you please clarify what this will do?

I’m guessing this prevents the folders without an index file from displaying their contents – in that case how about php files that are getting indexed (/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php for example)?

    Many thanks.

    Hey,

I get the same error message as Ismael, could you try to disable the WordFence plugin while we’re testing please?

    Thanks,

    Hey!

Can you please ask your hosting provider to create a php info page? We would like to check it. I tried to login but I got locked out:

    You are temporarily locked out

You have been temporarily locked out of this system. This means that you will not be able to sign-in or use several other features that may compromise security. Please try back in a short while.

Return to the site home page
Attempt to return to the admin login page (you may still be locked out)

If you are a site administrator and have been accidentally locked out, please enter your email in the box below and click “Send”. If the email address you enter belongs to a known site administrator or someone set to receive Wordfence alerts, we will send you an email to help you regain access. Please read this FAQ entry if this does not work.

Please try to disable all plugins then create a page again, see if that helps.

    Cheers!
    Ismael

    HI,

Ive disabled wordfence so you should be able to access now.

    Sorry about that.

    #500632

    Hi!

I’ve have been waiting for the unlock code for a bit now, is there a chance that you can temporarily disable wordfence for us to log in?

    Hi!

I would try deactivating Wordfence then so we can get in and take a look.

    Cheers!

Can you deactivate Wordfence? When I try to login as admin with the password you provided it says user has been locked out.

    Hi Guys,

Apologies for the essay, but need to give you as much info as possible.

I’m having issues with the forms on a clients website http://www.futuresset.uk we are running latest wordpress with the theme Enfold.

We have two forms using the built in contact form (one general contact, one for groupon customers) and a booking form using the wp plugin Bookly.

Whenever we send a test mail through any form the mail sent by the customer is received in the respective inbox however, the auto response email sent from the webste back to the customer with confirmation details is sent but never received.

    We have:

(Email address hidden if logged out) set for the appointments booking – Bookly.
(Email address hidden if logged out) set for the contact form on the contact page – built in form.
(Email address hidden if logged out) set for the contact form on the groupon page – built in form.

All send and receive email normally, all receive mail from the website forms, none send auto response or it sends but isn’t received.

I have contacted the bookly plugin author and we went through a few things to no avail, switched email sending from html to text etc…no joy

    BOOKLY CORRESPONDENCE:

    Hi

I recently bought your plugin – Item Purchase Code: **************** to use on a clients site http://www.futuresset.uk/make-an-appointment

Everything seems to be working correctly apart from when I book a test appointment, I don’t receive the email confirmation. The correct service provider (solicitor) is receiving the mail though?

I have checked all email addresses manually, all working to send/receive.

I have set the sent email address to be (Email address hidden if logged out)

The site is pretty much ready to go live, we were just checking everything and came across this issue…can you shed any light?

    Update..

I have installed easy wp smtp and tried wp smtp too as a work around however the solution is not ideal as if anyone checks the sender they will see the confirmation now coming from (Email address hidden if logged out) instead of (Email address hidden if logged out) is there a way around this??? Really hope you can help out here! ha.

I setup the plugin using Google’s STMP settings as when the hosts detail were entered it displayed an error and would not send mail…suspect this could be a firewall issue on the server?

We are using Enfold theme, the support there is where i found the SMTP solution…thing is we have two mail addresses that are not sending and the fix is working for only the booking form…the contact form is currently not sending confirmation emails either…may have to install contactform7 for that one.

Looks like the hosts are the next on the list to contact.

    ————————————————-

    Hello Ric,

By default Bookly is attempting to send emails as HTML, but some mail servers do work in this mode properly so we’ve added an option to Bookly->Email notifications that allows to switch the message format between HTML and text http://awesomescreenshot.com/02b57c0p7b .
Also you can try to define sender’s mail there ( 2 rows above ).

    ————————————————-

    Hi Valdimir,

    Thanks for the reply,

I have just tried the “text” setting, with sender mail set as (Email address hidden if logged out) and the only way it will send a confirmation is if the easy wp smtp plugin is active…so this is pointing me to either a theme or host issue as things seem too be working with your plugin.

We have Wordfence installed which sends out regular mails without problem.

The SMTP plugin workaround sends mail from the same address for the two contact forms (General and Groupon) and the booking form so this not a feasible solution as it defeats the object of being able to have two contact forms.

Any other info suggestions would be great?

    ————————————————-

So from here, went to the support docs on the forum here and tried the 5 steps
    http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/my-contact-form-is-not-sending-emails/

The only one to kinda work was the SMTP plugin so I contacted the hosts with the below mail:

    ————————————————-

    123-REG HOST CORRESPONDENCE

    Hi

I’m having issues with the forms on our website http://www.futuresset.uk we are running latest wordpress with the theme Enfold from themeforest.

We have two forms (one general contact, one for groupon customers) and a booking form using the wp plugin Bookly.

Whenever we send a test mail through any form the mail sent by the customer is received in the respective inbox however, the auto response email sent from the webste back to the customer with confirmation details is sent but never received.

    We have:

(Email address hidden if logged out) set for the appointments booking
(Email address hidden if logged out) set for the contact form on the contact page
(Email address hidden if logged out) set for the contact form on the groupon page

All send and receive email normally, all receive mail from the website forms, none send auto response

I have contacted the bookly plugin author and we went through a few things to no avail, switched email sending from html to text…no joy

Then went to the theme author, they have docs on this issue, we have tried all steps there.

Step 5 kinda worked however only went we entered google SMTP details, this then creates another problem of all mails coming from a google account (Email address hidden if logged out) (set up for testing purposes) which is not what we want

When using 123 reg details it throws up a connection error suggesting the username and/or password is incorrect when we know this not to be true.

As said though, this is not a viable option as then all emails from the website would come from one email address with the way the plugin works…unless there is a way to use all three emails as we need?

We have also logged out of the wp admin and tried clicking the link “lost password” entering both the email address and username associated with the admin account on separate occasions and we aren’t receiving the password reset email either?

Is there something preventing the mail from being sent on the server?

So just to recap..its the mail that is supposed to be sent after the customer submits their message/booking that is not being sent/received by the customer.

However having said all this we have a plugin “Wordfence” security plugin that sends regular email reports and notifications without any problems…so a bit stumped on this one.

Hope you can shed some light on this as the site really needs to go live asap.

    123-REG>CO>UK RESPONSE:

Thank you for contacting 123-reg on the 2nd September 2015.
I’m afraid that as all other emails are being sent and received through the hosting package without any issues, the problem with the confirmation email is not likely related to the hosting package and is a scripting issue.
Please note that scripting is outside our area of expertise and I would kindly recommend contacting a web developer regarding this issue.

If we can be of any further help with regard to this or any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    ————————————-

So because I’ve told the hosts that the mail is sending correctly away from the site, they have pretty much said that the problem is not with them and is a scripting problem. However the “lost password” email isn’t being received either

So here I am, I have deactivated Enfold and used 2015theme…still the issue is there.

Really hope someone can help out with this…thanks for your time in reading the above.

    Best regards

    Ric

I am using Enfold 3.2 on WordPress 4.3 and have noted an issue with the display of the front page on mobile devices like iPhone. The url for the site is http://xosalonpdx.com. See first screenshot below. If you click on the “home” link the page displays as intended, 2nd screenshot.

    Screenshot 1

    Screenshot 2

Is there any code or css I can add to remedy this? If it helps, the list of plugins I have are below.

    Easy Google Fonts 1.3.9
    Google Analytics by Yoast 5.4.5
    Wordfence Security 6.0.15
    Yoast SEO 2.3.4

same here, I was hoping that the new update would correct the error. but unfortunately I cant access several plug-ins (f.e. the EventOn Plug-in – SEO Yoast, WordFence f.e. work fine) , Enfold settings are not accessable.
When I activate the twentytwelve Theme – it worked for a time – that displays the same error on some plug-ins…
I had this too when I deactivated woocommerce (even with Enfold) – everything seemed fine – but then after checking a few times, the error was there.
I have played with memory limits, repaired, optimized tables, deactivated every plug-in one by one…
bottom line – I am not even sure if its Enfold related – but its def. a WordPress error…

    I hope I could help

    Hi Yigit,

Problem resolved – WordFence detected a php file that had been modified. Once it was restored Enfold worked perfectly! You may close this thread.

    Hi Rikard,
I have recently switched from http to https, plus moved complete site to the root instead root/wordpress folder. It might be that Wordfence Security went berserk (although I didn’t have any country restrictions imposed) so I removed all its tables and installation files right now. Have no idea what else I could do except to kindly ask you to try just one more time.
    Best regards

    Hi blueunderground,

I wanted to have a look at your site but it looks like we have to be logged in? You can post login details in the Private Content section of your reply.

Your access to this site has been limited

Your access to this service has been temporarily limited. Please try again in a few minutes. (HTTP response code 503)

Reason: Access from your area has been temporarily limited for security reasons

Important note for site admins: If you are the administrator of this website note that your access has been limited because you broke one of the Wordfence firewall rules. The reason you access was limited is: “Access from your area has been temporarily limited for security reasons”.

If this is a false positive, meaning that your access to your own site has been limited incorrectly, then you will need to regain access to your site, go to the Wordfence “options” page, go to the section for Firewall Rules and disable the rule that caused you to be blocked. For example, if you were blocked because it was detected that you are a fake Google crawler, then disable the rule that blocks fake google crawlers. Or if you were blocked because you were accessing your site too quickly, then increase the number of accesses allowed per minute.

If you’re still having trouble, then simply disable the Wordfence firewall and you will still benefit from the other security features that Wordfence provides.

If you are a site administrator and have been accidentally locked out, please enter your email in the box below and click “Send”. If the email address you enter belongs to a known site administrator or someone set to receive Wordfence alerts, we will send you an email to help you regain access. Please read this FAQ entry if this does not work.

    Regards,
    Rikard

Thanks for your reply. Better late than never ;) it is very welcome.
Something is blowing my I/O usage through the roof and it gets my IP address temporarily banned (1-2 minutes I get ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE message) . I can’t do simple stuff such as edit a page, or even view it when this happens. The javascript and the events are just the cherry on top. It’s what maxes out the I/O on my hosting. I’ve tried to narrow it down, took down plugins and installed WordFence, but I can’t find a trend. My raw server logs show my IP address as the one generating a lot of requests.

    #453830

    Hi!

sorry, but as there are too many plugins out there, we can’t recommend a specific to you. However, a list of Plugins for Enfold is here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/recommended-plugins-last-update-04-09-2013/

However, I think contacting the author of Wordfence should fix the issue. Make sure to use newest theme and WordPress version.

    Best regards,
    Andy

    #453384

Of course! I know you are not responsible for third party plugins, but I posted anyway because sometimes someone had this problem and also solved it. I see wordfence is not used much on enfold so I can easily pass to another security plugin (any suggestions?)

    Thanks!

    J
