  • Hi Yigit, I got everything working well on staging, then copied to production site and began getting 404 errors on pages (even after refreshing permalinks) and saw that some pages (search for homes) went to 404 page instead of to search results. Also saw lots of PHP fatal errors in server logs. Spent 2 hours with WP Engine support and finally reverted back to 4.2.6 enfold. (Yes, I am running php 7.0 and latest wordpress version, and WP Engine copied the staging site to a new directory on production server to try to get this to work).

    Here is sequence of events:

    Here’s sequence of events:

    1. Updated staging site to 4.3
    2. Made necessary changes to pages with Youtube videos to get them working.
    3. Staging site appeared to be working fine.
    4. Pushed staging to produciton
    5. All hell broke loose. HTTP500, site down., WP Engine (host) copied over files manually to new directory from staging and site came back up.
    6. First, I noticed Layer Slider on production site home page stopped working (text only, no video) and then same thing happened on staging site when it had been working fine before.
    7. Went into optimizations tab on Enfold theme settings and unchecked everything.
    8. LayerSlider video did not return.
    9. Then I noticed that property search functionality (optima express plugin) began throwing 404 error pages instead of going to results (so open houses on main menu, then blue button that says see all open houses in Marin County) http://www.thomashenthorne.com/marin-open-houses/

    10. WP Engine tried to refresh permalinks, copy over fresh copy from staging etc but couldn’t fix. Lots of errors (examples below)
    11. We had to revert to 4.2.6 backup
    12. Now layer slider on staging site running 4.3 is again showing background video on home page… and I made no changes…. strange….

    Sample errors:
PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /nas/content/live/myinstall/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php:14) in /nas/content/live/myinstall/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php on line 12

I would love to run 4.3 and hope you can help me.

    Thanks,
    Rob

    Hi Rikard,

I am a bit new to this and do not know what a staging version is or how to do it.

I see you have a notice that says ‘NEXT UPDATE Enfold 4.2.7 will be released during the first two weeks of April’ if I wait for that maybe it will iron out this bug?

If not I will try test it on the live version. Maybe delete events_countdown.php etc

I have learnt how to do a system restore after yesterdays crash ;o)

Looking forward to hearing from you

We’ve updated the site as per your instructions and now there is a fatal error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /home/zeadccom/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php:10) in /home/zeadccom/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php on line 12

    Hey annameis,

Please go to wp-content > themes >enfold > config-templatebuilder > avia-shortcodes folder via FTP and delete events_countdown.php file, that should fix the issue.

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard,

Here’s a quick update: I have commented out the function declaration in events_countdown.php from lines 12 to 16, and now I’m back in business.

    Things are working again.

    #934952

    Hi Rikard,

I have tried the manual update by downloading and overwriting the directory, and now get this message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /var/www/html/bits/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php:14) in /var/www/html/bits/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php on line 12

I also am not even able to log into the dashboard again either, so I need to declare another theme as active to get there again.

The machine I am using is not public, it is a VM in my home network, and is serving as my development box. I won’t be able to provide you with login details either. I don’t have an issue removing the enfold directory from the themes folder and restarting, if that is an option. Unless you have a quick fix for the error message this is the rout I am considering and at the moment would prefer.

Let me know what would be the best route to take, but remember, this is a development machine, so deleting and starting over is an option.

    Thanks for your help.

Hi – I have a site using Enfold hosted on GoDaddy. The site has gone down and when we deactivate the theme and go with a standard theme hit works. When I try to activate Enfold I get this error message.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /home/content/a2pnexwpnas02_data02/65/3379865/html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php:14) in /home/content/a2pnexwpnas02_data02/65/3379865/html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php on line 12

    Can you help me?

    #931535

    Hey!

Please go to wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/ via FTP and delete events_countdown.php file and that should fix the issue. If it does not, please post FTP logins here privately so we can look into it.

    Regards,

    Hi Ismael,

yes, I did update manually – as I’ve renamed the parent-theme folder to something custom, I think I only can update manually, right?

Deleting the “old” buttons_fullwidth.php did fix the issue. Initially, I also had to delete the events_countdown.php, as you moved it into its own folder somewhen after 4.2.2. Are there other files, that are duplicate now?

    Thanks and best regards,
    eC

I am receiving the following error after updating to the newest version of enfold.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /home/placidba/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php:14) in /home/placidba/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php on line 12

    Hey,

I am afraid so. File should have not been there after the update but should have been inside /events_countdown/ folder only.

    Hi,

Sorry, i was too focused on FTP, must have overlooked.

Another possible issue could be “events_countdown.php” file. Please go to wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/ folder via FTP and delete events_countdown.php file if it exists.

As i mentioned i could not find the correct installation, if you could please point it out, we can solve it for you.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

i have build about 60 sites with the enfold theme and the latest update 4.2.6 crashed them all.
All sites are running with new php version 7.0 and higher.

In the documentation you only replace the theme files instead of deleting first the whole folder. right?
If i manually delete the “events_countdown.php” file all sites are running,
if i only upload the new files to the existing folder all sites are crashed.
what is the right way now? why there are 2 events_countdown.php files in the folder after i updated it?

Has ENFOLD a new folder structure and it is necessary to delete the ENFOLD Folder before i update it to 4.2.6?

    THX

    #930225

    Dear Ismael,
Sorry for the belated reply as I was travelling and busy with other things. I have just tried to update to 4.2.6, but again I have an error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /home/medipa5/public_html/medipaper.com/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php:14) in /home/medipa5/public_html/medipaper.com/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php on line 12

I do not have a staging or development website. On Feb 28 I already tried the “switching off” all plugins, but issues were persistent. The login below still works. I am running on 4.2.2 now, and feel I am loosing out on updates since you are already at 4.2.6. Appreciate the help to overcome this.

    #930001

    Hey RalfSkirr,

Can you update your theme again and if the error shows up, please only remove this file: /enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php
not the entire avia-shortcodes folder. It shouldn’t be showing anymore in the future release of Enfold since it has moved to /enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hi enfold team,

i have 2 sites with enfold where i can not acces the site after updating.
    http://www.hubertushof-arlberg.at and http://www.laerchenhof-lech.at

the error message on laerchenhof-lech.at is

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /data/www/web048001/laerchenhof-lech.at/docroot/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php:14) in /data/www/web048001/laerchenhof-lech.at/docroot/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php on line 12

when i tried to restore a backup with manage WP also this message comes:

.htaccess file: E_ERROR: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /data/www/web048001/laerchenhof-lech.at/docroot/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php:14) in /data/www/web048001/laerchenhof-lech.at/docroot/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php on line 12

and on hubertushof-arlberg.at nothing appears – also after restoring the website version of 3 days ago with manageWP.

    seems enfold related…

    any ideas on that?
    thanks in advance,
    Michael
