Hi there.
I am experiencing a mayday situation, and I have been using ENFOLD for quite a while.
As I update pages with newly created contents, this contents is “erased” from the page (but can still be accessed in the autosave).
I use enfold 3.0.1 + WP4 engine.
Earlier today, I described this issue in better terms here, and got some feedback from a user experiencing the same issues.

To me this is a mayday.
Kriesi team have received all website credentials.
I tried to edit a page and when I cliecked update all the contents vanishes.
I’ve been using enfold for years. The moral is very low.
As I save my pages they disappear.

Please go to Appearance > Menus and edit your menu. If you would like to change their appearance, please go to Enfold theme options > Advanced Styling

Hey!
That might fix it and its worth a shot if you have a host with one-click WordPress installation capabilities.
With that said, before installing Enfold make sure you can upload images on the new installation and those standard WordPress functions are all working. Then upload the theme over FTP following the steps here: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/install-enfold-over-ftp/

Try going to your WordPress admin and deactivating all active plugins.
Then go to the Dashboard>Updates panel and re-install the 4.0 WordPress update. Once that is done you can re-update the theme over FTP following the steps on this page to make sure no errors happen when updating: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
If you continue to have any issues please open up a new topic with a link to your site and admin credentials in the private data.

I am trying to use these instructions and having no success; can you tell me whether they still work with the new version of enfold? My page is at http://realfreshclient.com/banetti/portfolio-2/life-sciences-2/ (use gizm0 to see it), and I’m trying to get a small band of red at the top.
I assigned red_section in the ID field of the color section and placed

If you want to, I can try to upload wordpress and the theme again but I am not sure if this is going to help. As I said, this does not appear to be an issue related to the theme since I cant upload images even if switching to the default theme…
A “enfold.css” file is not in the upload package. The file is generated once you save the theme options and then usually saved in the uploads folder, since this is the only folder that should be writeable for wordpress by default. For a unknown reason that upload folder is not writeable for any theme. Truth to be told, I cant really imagine why but my best guess is that it has something to do with the permissions that the php-user has in those folders…

I’ve had several themes just as test sites and I’ve also other themes installed on separate sites which are on the same server with no issue so i dont really understand how it cant be this specific theme?
As I said in my other comment when i unzip the theme there’s files that appear to be missing according to other posts. Like there’s no enfold.css? there’s no dynamic stylesheet that seems to be needed?
I’ll contact godaddy again anyway and see what they say

Just checked it again and at this point I am pretty sure that this is nothing related to enfold. I checked your ftp server and every operation that creates a file fails.
2 examples:
Once you save the enfold options WordPress creates a stylesheet in the uploads folder. But on your server that does not work. So I switched to the WordPress default theme and tried to upload an image, which also fails. The database entry is set in both cases and there are no visible errors (which is odd) but neither the stylesheet nor the uploaded image are created by WordPress, no matter the theme.Permissions look fine for me, but since I am not really a server-guru there might be other settings that prevent WordPress from creating files on your server. Do you have any idea why this might happen? It seems it has worked at some point in the past, since I can find a few images in the uploads folder, as well as an Avada stylesheet…
Hi Guys,
Just reporting what seems to be a bug…. when I use the Blog Posts Element in Avia Builder, it is wrongly displaying Pages along with my Posts in error.
I have Blog Posts > Grid Layout option set to 3 columns, displaying category ‘News’, with excerpt and read more link…. displays pages (by date created) inline with normal posts.
If I change it to single author big preview pic option, the pages disappear and just the posts correctly display.
It also happens if I choose ‘custom taxonomy’ and still choose ‘news’ category. This applies to any of the blog layout options.
Running WP 4.0 and Enfold 3 (6th October update).

can you try again I changed the path it was incorrect.
Is the issue that there is no enfold.css the problem?

Did clean WP4 reinstalled from scratch and rebuild of template from scratch and 5 hours into the build it blew up again taking us back to an early revision loosing 3 hours of work. When into revisions to restore and blew up again leaving us with an early build, but lost the revision history???? So now can’t see any of the saves…
There is definitely a bug in the template. I’ve been using Enfold on different sites for over a year, including a large ones and have not seen this before. I lost a total 4-5 hours last night plus countless hours trouble shooting the previous install.
I just saw Alexoidea post and it is exactly what I am experiencing! Thank god I haven’t updated my other sites yet!
Please advise.
I can duplicate this issue on a clean WP+enfold install on MAMP running on my mac.

I’m really enjoying the Enfold theme as it’s almost fully customizable and fast. I need your help with something I don’t know how to do: Is there anyway to control the breadcrumbs’ taxonomy?
For this moment there is a duplication between the ‘blog’ that is the category name and the ‘blog’ which is probably there as its’ location in the taxonomy. I don’t know if this is important for the matter but the URL has only one /blog/ in it so the duplication is only on the breadcrumbs.
Before using Enfold I used Brightbox and it didn’t have this problem. How can I solve it?

A duplicate hidden main menu has appeared right under the body tag of my website.
The best way to view it is to install the Web Developer extension on Firefox/Chrome and turn off all styles.
Is this an enfold issue or is it a WordPress 4 issue?

I have googled the term “wordpress 502 Bad Gateway” and what I get are a lot of different threads with that problem (not related to enfold, most of the time other themes or plugins) and a lot of those threads mention wpengine so I am not really sure if they are running some special kind of servers. The error does not happen for our other 40.000 enfold customers and as I said above is caused by generic wordpress functions that are not even theme specific, so I am having a hard time helping here, with no way to reproduce the issue :/
From what I gathered in some of those threads mentioned above, its maybe because there are not enough resources available for the database. Not sure if there is something you can change in your wpengine dashboard to increase that?

I did not add any modifications. I updated Enfold the same way I’ve done with prior updates. As far as I knew I received the full update. I backup the files, update Enfold, reload the functions file. Is this in the functions file? I did not see it there.

The problems described above happen on a child theme. However, some of the issues described herein also happen on another Enfold website (no child thmee, I know it’s bad anyway) on which I simultaneously work. The issue I am having with this other website is loss of WP4 interface (and access to the update BTN) after having made changes on a real clean avia layout page. The siple operation I did thence was simply getting rid of the default rounded tip of images. I didn’t change anything else. And BAM… Loss of interface!How weirdy.

Have you already figured it out? I checked your site and could not see any errors. Also you are using an older version of the theme. Enfold version 3 has updated version of LayerSlider which is 5.3.0 – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

Since updating to Enfold 3, I am losing the gap between the two half width columns, for instance on my home page, when the browser is sized down below the 990px threshold.
I previously made the following adjustments to my column sizes, with your help, which worked fine before:

When I use the #linking on a page in order to scroll to new content it doesn’t work when applied to images, texts or anything other than buttons. Why is that and how can I fix it? It is a clean install of enfold and the latest version.
What happen is that the user gets to the correct section but without the scrolling effect.
