    Hi,

    This is a general website question and not really an Enfold issue, at least I don’t think it is. I want a form selection tool or plugin that allows me to ask a few questions with conditional formatting with the end result to point to a certain page on the website.

    I have contact form 7 but that seems to only work for sending emails.

    I want something that asks – What kind of Printer? Brother, Epson, etc. then, based on that answer, you can select the printer type. Then, based on that result you press submit and it takes you to a page where it seels ink for just those printers.

    I don’t know what you call that and I can’t search for it. Would appreciate any help anyone can offer.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Please try this instead:

    .av-main-nav li#menu-item-search {
      display:none !important;
    }

    Remember to delete the old CSS and JS files under Enfold->Performance as well before checking.

    Best regards,

    When editing the home page, if I click the Preview button or the Update button, when it opens the new tab, it gives the error “Sorry, the post you are looking for is not available. Maybe you want to perform a search?”

    After getting the error, I updated to WordPress 5.0.3, then switched back to the classic editor, and am still getting the same error message. The error only occurs, though, when I’m working with the home page; any other page that I edit can be previewed with no errors.

    I am using Enfold 4.4.1

    Hi,

    You can’t add a search box in the top header container by default. There is no option for that, but it’s possible using custom filters and a few css modifications.

    Hey hylandgraphics,

    Try adding this css code in Quick CSS (located in Enfold > General Styling):

    @media only screen and (max-width:767px) {
      #top #menu-item-search {
        display: none;
      }
    }

    Best regards,

    Hello–I’m a little behind the times and trying to upgrade my Enfold theme as part of my managed WordPress v5.0.3/PHP version 5.6 site. Whenever I try to upgrade the theme, I get this error:

    “Downloading update from …
    An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.”

    I searched the forums and found that the moderator in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/ said to open a new thread if you were having trouble.

    So, I’m opening up a new thread. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

    In reply to: Enfold Update?

    Michael,
    So if I’m understanding right (I’m doing this Enfold update through FTP by the way), I don’t need to generate an API key under Settings at ThemeForest.net at all anymore? Instead I need to generate a new one at https://build.envato.com?

    And if that’s correct – when I go to that url and click on API, if I’m already signed into my ThemeForest accnt. it logs me in, but I’m taking to a page with a loooonnggg list of various instructions. I searched and searched and searched, since it wasn’t obvious, but finally found a link that said ‘generate token’ and I got that done, copied & saved.

    Can you confirm that’s what I’ll enter in my Enfold CHILD Template Settings in WordPress, and NOT the API key I generated under settings in myThemeForest.net account?

    One other question I had – was that I have a highly customized child theme with Enfold. Do I need to delete and replace the Enfold Child Theme as well? Or no?

    Thanks!

    Hi Sergej,

    Here is the code you can put in Enfold > General Styling > Quick Css,  if it does not work, put into themes/enfold/css/custom.css

    @media only screen and (min-width: 1024px) {
      #top #menu-item-search {
          left: -395px;
      }
    }

    If you need further assistance please let us know.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hi,

    I have two 100% color sections on top of each other. The header is set to transparent. Then appearing after scrolling down. The jumping scroll-down arrow at the bottom is set on the correct position for the first color section. However, if I click it, the site scrolls down to the second 100% color section and the header appear. Now the 100% color section has “too much height”. That is 100% of the browser windows height plus the newly appeared menu. As a consequence, the second scroll-down arrow is not visible, as it appears too low and one can only see it after scrolling down a little. That’s not really user-friendly.

    Searching the forum, I found several posts with similar problems and different solutions (fix the position of the arrow via CSS, fix the height of the color section via function.php). Many of them are however a couple of years old.

    What would be most advisable to fix the problem on Enfold 4.5.4

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hi

    I am having difficulty with a website I’ve recently launched:

    using the current Enfold theme.

    The client was keen for it to be launched quickly to replace an old site, so I did that.
    Everything appeared to work well in desktop and mobile browsers, so the launch went ahead.
    It was only when I installed Yoast SEO and discovered an alert that the home page couldn’t be indexed by googlebot.
    Sure enough, from within Google Search Console it was confirmed there was a 5xx error. I thought this was odd since there’s no indication of any problem with normal browsing.
    In my troubleshooting, I’ve done numerous online searches for people encountering similar problems.
    I’ve looked at robots.txt, htaccess, theme configurations etc. but so far I’ve drawn a blank.
    I’ve now deactivated all extraneous WordPress plugins (except for Yoast SEO) and still Google can’t index the site’s home page. Other pages on the site seem to have been indexed okay and are appearing in the search results.
    I’ve wondered if there could be a legacy issue, because the new website replaces a previous one (by a different designer using a different theme). I’d renamed all the old pages and put them in the WordPress ‘bin’.

    In twenty-odd years, I’ve never encountered anything like this.

    What is also different on this occasion, is that the domain and website are hosted by GoDaddy on this client’s own account. Could GoDaddy’s system have cached outdated settings somehow that are still being served?

    Note: Although Search Console was initially showing a 5xx error, other validation sites appear to be showing 404 errors – even though the new site has always worked in browsers.

    It’s a real puzzle that I’d welcome your thoughts and suggestions on.

    Thanks

    Hi! I am trying to get our page to look like this one: https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-church/events/month/

    I have installed latest version of Enfold and latest version of Events Calendar. However, it is not displaying correctly! The gray at the top is not going edge to edge. The search bars are not spaced correctly, etc.

    Here is our site: http://ambassadorschristiancenter.com/events/

    Also, I’ve noticed the same issue in other Enfold installations: https://www.cornellrec.org/events/list/

    Please advise! Thank you!

    Dear Enfold Team,

    i searched the forum for a solution and tried things but did not succeed. Is there a CSS Code to optimize the print version for a full screen layout? We would like to reduce the print version to a minimim:
    1. Just text – no images
    2. No whitespace – no unnecessary breaks

    Thanks for your support!

    Hi all,

    I’m wanting round buttons for a site I’m working on and am having no luck applying some custom CSS code that I’ve found in previous searches.

    The button is embedded in a color section, pretty much like the Enfold Construction demo. Likewise, it appears that font size changes to a text block inside the color section aren’t working either, does it have something to do with being embedded in the color section?

    Hi guys!

    I went to the Events Calendar plugin first with this issue and here’s what I got (see below). Help!!

    Original issue:
    I am getting an error on Search Console where it states that location is required and missing from the markup:
    <div id=”tribe-events-content” class=”tribe-events-single vevent hentry”>
    I tried to override with the Data Highlighter but it does not work as the template is modified.
    You also get a bunch of warnings (you can see them when you run this page by the structured markup tool: https://staging-conversionsciencesdev.kinsta.cloud/event/conversion-for-the-content-marketer/

    Here’s what I got from the Plugin’s thread:
    “Enfold needs to update the single-event.php that they include in their theme. The vevent hentry needs to be removed. It is no longer needed since The Events Calendar now uses JSON-LD for markup. The Events Calendar moved away from the use of this method quite a while back, but Enfold has not updated their templates to follow the changes.”

    How do I fix this? Let me know if you need access to the staging site.

    Thank you!!

    Hi Basilis –

    In Enfold, under Theme Options, enable a custom 404 page and set it to a home page, as one might if they simply wanted 404s to get rerouted to the website home page.

    Then, using a crawler such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog SEO, AHrefs, or SEMRush, request a crawl of the site.

    Even though the site is displayed in one’s browser, the server returns a 404 on direct requests to the homepage.

    For example, let’s pretend I own https://kriesi.at/ and using Enfold I set the custom 404 page to be the home page. A visitor then tries to access a page that doesn’t exist, let’s say https://kriesi.at/thisPageDoesNotExist/ and rightfully receives a 404 and gets shown the homepage. No problem there.

    That visitor then requests https://kriesi.at/ and though they’re shown the homepage, the home page is returned with a 404 error that just happens not to be visible to the user, but is visible to search engine crawlers.

    This likely has an impact on search rankings.

    Does this clear things up?

    Hi,
    thank you for your reply!

    I’ve checked the credentials, they work.

    I’ve tried changing to twentynineten – the search worked as intended there – and switched back.

    Nope, I wasn’t able to find this by adding the code to functions.php nor functions-enfold.php. This is my functions.php:

    This is a weird one …

    My client updated his Enfold theme this morning and since then some images that are used as a background of a content block aren’t visible any more.

    I’ve searched and searched but I can’t find a reason …

    I have put links to both situation in the private content and here are the shortcodes of both pages:

    With this shortcode the image is visible:
    [av_section min_height='50' min_height_px='500px' padding='default' shadow='no-shadow' bottom_border='no-border-styling' bottom_border_diagonal_color='#333333' bottom_border_diagonal_direction='' bottom_border_style='' custom_arrow_bg='' id='' color='main_color' background='bg_color' custom_bg='' background_gradient_color1='' background_gradient_color2='' background_gradient_direction='vertical' src='https://explore.be/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Hurtigruten-Antarctica-Neko-Harbour-117534-©-Hurtigruten-Andreas-Kalvig-Anderson-1.jpg' attachment='8514' attachment_size='full' attach='scroll' position='center center' repeat='stretch' video='' video_ratio='16:9' overlay_opacity='0.5' overlay_color='' overlay_pattern='' overlay_custom_pattern='' av_element_hidden_in_editor='0' av_uid='av-2teyq4v' custom_class='reizenheader']
    [/av_section]

    With this shortcode the image is NOT visble:
    [av_section min_height='50' min_height_px='500px' padding='default' shadow='no-shadow' bottom_border='no-border-styling' bottom_border_diagonal_color='#333333' bottom_border_diagonal_direction='' bottom_border_style='' custom_margin='0px' custom_margin_sync='true' custom_arrow_bg='' id='' color='main_color' background='bg_color' custom_bg='' background_gradient_color1='' background_gradient_color2='' background_gradient_direction='vertical' src='https://nordic.swingcontent.be/SwingContent/FileCache/0/1847/Hurtigruten-Groenland-Huizen-74238-c-Birgit-Ohlin-Hurtigruten.jpg' attachment='' attachment_size='full' attach='scroll' position='center center' repeat='stretch' video='' video_ratio='16:9' overlay_opacity='0.5' overlay_color='' overlay_pattern='' overlay_custom_pattern='' av_element_hidden_in_editor='0' av_uid='' custom_class='reizenheader']
    [/av_section]

    When I edit the content block where the image is NOT visible with the Layout Editor I see the image as background. But not on front-end …

    Also the image that doesn’t display comes from an external sever (I use WP All Import to do this) but until this morning everything worked fine. So I don’t think that this has something to do with it. (Other images on that page that aren’t used as a background but as a normal image and that also come from an external server DO get displayed.)

    I’m not sure if you will find something in the shortcode but please check the links in the private content and then look at the source.

    Thank you.

    Hi carmentvaalba,

    Please add this css code in Quick CSS (located in Enfold > General Styling):

    @media only screen and (max-width:1024px) {
      #top #header .av-main-nav #menu-item-search {
        display: block !important;
      }
    }

    You may need to flush out the page cache to fetch the newly added css codes.

    Best regards,

    Hello, I have been using enfold in several webs. (example: https://iomm.es/http://clinicadosio.com/&#8230;..) And in all of theme I can see search icon just before the burguer menu, but not in this site: faceclinic.es, do you know why?

    Thank you, Carmen

    so I have searched the internet in vain for a solution that WordPress does not automatically remove the multiple line breaks.

    Perhaps it is a combination of influences from both WordPress and Enfold settings that counteracts this. Here I think a developer has to take a look; my skills aren’t enough for that anymore.

    #1065319

    Hi,

    Thank you for using Enfold. And I would like to apologize for the late response.

    The tab section has changed a lot since, so that script is no longer valid. Please try this one instead:

    // auto trigger tab section
    add_action('wp_footer', 'ava_go_to_tab_section');
    function ava_go_to_tab_section() {
    ?>
    <script>
    (function($){
        function getQueryParams(qs) {
            qs = qs.split("+").join(" ");
            var params = {},
            tokens,
            re = /[?&]?([^=]+)=([^&]*)/g;

            while (tokens = re.exec(qs)) {
                params[decodeURIComponent(tokens[1])] = decodeURIComponent(tokens[2]);
            }

            return params;
        }

        function triggerTabSection( section) {
            $('a[href="' + section + '"]').trigger('click');
        }

        var section = getQueryParams( document.location.search );

        triggerTabSection( section );
    })(jQuery);
    </script>
    <?php
    }

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard,

    I got an email from the Google Search Console Team:

    New issues detected on http://www.mintaccounting.com.au/

    To owner of http://www.mintaccounting.com.au/,

    Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 2 new issues of type Mobile Usability.

    Top issues (5 maximum)

    The following issues were found on your site:

    Clickable elements too close together
    Content wider than screen

    We recommend that you find out more about these issues and fix them when possible to enable your site to have the best possible experience and coverage in Google Search.

    So the problem seems to be that the stylesheets are loading too slow and the site shows up without styles applied.
    When I look up the site on my phone though it appears normal, no problems. Why does Google find this problem? I have made many other sites with enfold and they don’t have this problem…
    Any idea what it could be?
    Thanks Lisa

    Hello,
    I have given our portfolio items a noindex. A website audit finds now a lot of this portfolio items with the notation /?s at the end of the url.
    An example is: /portfolio-item/damen-marine-systems/?s=

    I assume this search option is added by Enfold but how can I avoid this? and:
    • should I avoid this if this is possible?
    • should I set the portfolio item on noindex, or is it better to index them?

    Best regards,
    Henk

    In reply to: LazyLoad a div?

    Hi,
    Sorry for the late reply, I searched for the script that delayed the css animation in Enfold, and found it in:
    enfold\js\shortcodes.js
    starting on line 390:

    $.fn.avia_sc_animation_delayed = function(options)
    {
    	var global_timer = 0,
    		delay = options.delay || 50,
    		max_timer = 10,
    		new_max = setTimeout(function(){ max_timer = 20; }, 500);

    	return this.each(function()
    	{
    		var elements = $(this);

    		//trigger displaying of thumbnails
    		elements.on('avia_start_animation', function()
    		{
    			var element = $(this);

    			if(global_timer < max_timer) global_timer ++;

    			setTimeout(function()
    			{
    				element.addClass('avia_start_delayed_animation');
    				if(global_timer > 0) global_timer --;

    			}, (global_timer * delay));

    		});
    	});
    }

    so reading this it looks like the elements with the class “avia_start_animation” get the class “avia_start_delayed_animation” added to them. I’m not sure if this will help you, but this is where the lazy load is starting in Enfold.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,
    I constantly use this forum to get answers for customisation I want to do to a site. I found some code to paste to the bottom of the functions.php that took off the “Archive for Category” and all the other variations. I have just updated by site to the latest version of Enfold and it obviously replaced the functions.php that I had modified so I went in and repasted it from a saved version but it still doesn’t work. I thought it might be cached so I went to another browser that I rarely use to check it and no it’s still there…..grrrrrrrrrr. This is the code I am using (see below) what am I doing wrong? and How do I get rid of those words please.

    function avia_which_archive()
    {
    $output = “”;

    if ( is_category() )
    {
    $output = __(‘Archive for category:’,’avia_framework’).” “.single_cat_title(”,false);
    }
    elseif (is_day())
    {
    $output = __(‘Archive for date:’,’avia_framework’).” “.get_the_time( __(‘F jS, Y’,’avia_framework’) );
    }
    elseif (is_month())

    $output = __(‘Author Archive’,’avia_framework’).” “;

    if(isset($curauth->nickname) && isset($curauth->ID))
    {
    $name = apply_filters(‘avf_author_nickname’, $curauth->nickname, $curauth->ID);
    $output .= __(‘for:’,’avia_framework’) .” “. $name;
    }

    }
    elseif (is_tag())
    {
    $output = __(‘Tag Archive for:’,’avia_framework’).” “.single_tag_title(”,false);
    }
    elseif(is_tax())
    {
    $term = get_term_by( ‘slug’, get_query_var( ‘term’ ), get_query_var( ‘taxonomy’ ) );
    $output = __(‘Archive for:’,’avia_framework’).” “.$term->name;
    }
    else
    {
    $output = __(‘Archives’,’avia_framework’).” “;
    }

    if (isset($_GET[‘paged’]) && !empty($_GET[‘paged’]))
    {
    $output .= ” (“.__(‘Page’,’avia_framework’).” “.$_GET[‘paged’].”)”;
    }

    $output = apply_filters(‘avf_which_archive_output’, $output);

    return $output;
    }

    Hi WebDevDept,

    There’s an option in the link given by Rikard to choose which theme you narrow your search with :)
    Also feel free to request such feature at our feature request system: https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/
    This system allows us to keep track of user suggestions and lets you vote on the feature you would like to see the most. I am afraid though there is no guarantee that a feature will get implemented.

    Best regards,

    Good afternoon

    Within Enfold I set our custom 404 page to be our Front Page.

    Google Search Console as well as Screaming Frog SEO Spider, both then began showing that our homepage was returning a 404 even though the page itself worked and displayed fine.

    This indicates that Enfold/Wordpress automatically return a 404 whenever the page set to be the custom 404 page is called up, even if that page isn’t accessed due to a real 404 error. This is obviously improper.

    Further, after the Custom 404 option was disabled a 404 error was still being returned any time the homepage was accessed. That error finally went away when the Custom 404 option was reenabled, a different page selected, and the Custom 404 page disabled again.

    This indicates that Enfold/Wordpress is returning a 404 on the selected page even if the Custom 404 option is disabled, which is also improper.

    Perhaps it’s not best-practice to use one’s homepage as a 404 page, but it certainly isn’t best practice to return a 404 on one’s homepage either. It would probably be advisable to introduce a check to determine whether or not the page selected as one’s custom 404 page is also set to their Front Page, and if so, do not return a 404 error.

    Thanks.
