Have you tried de-activating all active plugins and check if that helps? Please also make sure that your files and folder have the correct permission. You can contact your service provider and they can check it for you

You can try to use a more advanced Slider plugins like this one – http://codecanyon.net/item/slider-revolution-responsive-wordpress-plugin/2751380 ( not 100% sure if you would be able to replicate the feature. Please contact plugins author about that )

Have you made any changes on Footer.php file? Please go to Appearance > Editor and open Footer.php file and check if the last 4 lines are the same as following

You are currently using Enfold version 2.9.1 which is not compatible with WordPress 4.0. Please update Enfold to the latest version 3.0.2 via FTP and make sure to overwrite all files – http://vimeo.com/67209750

Please firstly turn on custom CSS field for ALB elements – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/turn-on-custom-css-field-for-all-alb-elements/ and then give your text block elementa custom class and then add following code to Quick CSS in Enfold theme options under General Styling tab
.avia_texblock.your-custom-class { background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.5); }0,0,0 is the RGB value of the color and 0.5 is opacity level
