Hi Mike, are you talking about an WordPress Update to come? We also have a similar issue with shortcodes in sidebar widgets.

Update: the Classic Editor Plugin had an update where they say that it “Fixed switching editors from the Add New (post) screen before a draft post is saved.”
But in combination with ALE its still the same problem :(Update: Checked this on an other project. This is due to the latest Update of Classic Editor Plugin!
Before updating it everything works fine.
I did a Rolloback (https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-rollback/) with the Classic Editor Plugin to 1.0 and no conflict at all….
So this may be a workaround till there is an update of the Plug or Enfold…Edit @ Kriesi Team: I kept the Editor Version 4.1 in the project I gave you credentials. So you might check for the reason of the problem.
That sounds weired… You can deactivate the Classic Editor Plugin in the Plugins section of your admin. For sure only if you have installed it!
You can deactivate the Classic Editor Plugin. But you won’t be able to use the Classic Editor instead of Avia Layout Builder…
Hi Micheal, the Classic Editor Plugin gives the possibility to use Classic Editor instead of Gutenberg.
To be honest – I don’t Like Gutenberg and it is still buggy … I want to have the choice betwen ALE and Classic Editor. This was possible in WP 4.9 and does not work in WP 5.0 with Enfold.Hi, I have a similar problem, Classic Editor Plugin is installed and updated to WP 5.0 today.
If I want to create new pages or articles with the Classic Editor (visual), I cant use WYSIWYG nor switch to the Avia-Layouteditor.
Disabling Classic Editor is not an option because this would force me to use Gutenberg :(
Just checked an other WordPress not using Enfold – this is working properly.@Yigit: Updated & shortcodes are working again! ThX a lot for fixing the bug!

The shortcode embed of Layerslider is a regular feature of Layerslider that worked before.
Now – after forcing me to reinstal that broken version your answer is that it will not work anymore?
Are you serious? I’m sure many people using the shortcode for many various reasons!
Its not acceptable for a payed PREMIUM Theme just to disable a functionality of an other plugin!
I bought about at least 10 Licenses for me and my clients – we are using shortcodes in many ways!So PLEASE, fix this – it is a BUG!

It is a clients website – productive already…
I will install a copy – but it will take some time.Hey Yigit and thx for the answer! But look – the implementation of Layerslider via module and via shortcode gives different results.
There is a lot of work done to make it fit in all resolutions and so on.
Its a “no go” that shortcodes should not work anymore… clients are no beta tester… Please help out to fix this!Thx for support!

Seemed to be a cache problem.
Deactivating W3 Total Cache makes the Sliders work again.
If you have Problems to reactivate the Cache plugin, delete the drop-in files in /wp-content/:
advanced-cache.php
db.php
object-cache.phpThen reactivate W3 Total Cache :)
