What is the size of your tablet? You can set the burger menu to be on the desktop as well, that might work for you better.

Thank you for the staging :) I do not have the same issue in Chrome or Safari on a MacBook, and it’s so hard to catch that black color for the mouseout, but I did!

Could you please point to a page with gallery, I did not see any. The images are clear and the website loads ok, I’ve seen way way slower websites. One thing that will speed up thing is php7, if you’re not yet using it. It is much faster that previous versions. And you could use a caching plugin.
