February 15, 2018 at 5:39 am in reply to: Can I create a child theme when my website is already done & adjusted? #912614
Hey WindowStories,
That depends on what changes you have made, if you have edited any of the core files like functions.php or any of the CSS files, then you would have to move them to the child. If you have only made settings in the layout builder and theme options then you can export them to your child. If you want to experiment with it then I would recommend that you copy your site to a staging area on the same server or copy it to a local installation.
You can download basic child theme here if you like: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/downloads/

Your child theme settings; after importing them they sometimes don’t reflect on the front end, toggling a theme setting and saving again usually helps though, could you try that out? If you need any further help then please post admin login details in private so that we can have a closer look.

Please try the following in Quick CSS under Enfold->General Styling:
.page-id-18352 .avia-icon-list li { margin-right:0 !important; } .page-id-18352 .sidebar_tab .tab_titles { width: 100% !important; min-width: 200px !important; max-width: 350px !important; }Best regards,
RikardHi Gerhard,
Thanks for the explanation, please try this CSS:
figure.wp-caption.alignleft { margin: 4px 10px 10px; }It looks like you have the same CSS declaration twice, you should probably remove one of them to avoid any confusion.
Best regards,
RikardHi,
Great, glad you solved it :-)

RikardHi,
Yes, your changes should survive updates. But to be sure I would recommend that you backup your site before updates, just in case something should go wrong.

Thanks for the login details. Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.2.3) to see if that helps please? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/. Also try to update WordPress itself.
Best regards,
RikardHi,
Great, glad the CSS helped. You should try to keep the images as wide as the container, in your case that means 1300 pixels.
Best regards,
RikardHi Maria,
I see that on my end too, though I don’t think you have to worry about it too much since end-users will likely never see that. A lot of websites tend to do stuff like this when the CSS is “settling”, we could have a look at it but like I said, I don’t think any end-user will ever see that.

RikardHi Luca,
In general, self-hosted videos work less good than if you host the video on for instance Youtube or Vimeo. It will likely perform better if you host it on a service like that. Could you try uploading it to Youtube or Vimeo to see if that helps?

RikardHey joanmateu,
If Contact Form 7 isn’t working either then it’s likely something wrong with your mail server. Please try contacting your hosting provider to see if they can help you out with that.

RikardHi Valérie,
I would suggest you do what Nikko advised, make a copy of your current site on the same server and then update there first to see if there are any problems, if not then you can update the production site.
This support channel is the paid support, it’s all we have :-)

RikardHey xandria,
You shouldn’t have to do anything if you still have access to the forum, if you should lose access then we’ll help you out with that of course.

RikardFebruary 14, 2018 at 2:42 pm in reply to: Problem with Gallery and Instagram widget (Enfold) #912278Hi,
Ok, so you have customised core theme files? Is there a reason for you not running a child theme? Not running a child theme with customisations is not a very good idea to be honest with you. We really can’t debug versions of the theme which is this old, since we have made a lot of changes since it was released.

How are they supposed to look? I see what you are describing but I’m not sure how it looked before the update?

RikardFebruary 14, 2018 at 2:22 pm in reply to: Site appears different at "incognito"-mode of the browser #912264Hey Marcel,
What exactly is different? Please try to point out the problem, it’s difficult for us to know otherwise. The version you see in incognito is likely to be the correct one, as the browser doesn’t use any caching in incognito mode.

Thanks for the login details, though the page doesn’t seem to be password protected? It’s a draft as far as I can see, and I can preview it without any problems when logged in.

RikardHey Kes,
I’m not familiar with that plugin unfortunately, how can we see and reproduce the problem? We likely need access to the backend of your site so please include admin login details in private.
