    in reply to: Enfold (4.5.7.1-beta-2) Form missing senders email address #1133635

    Hi Ismael,

    No, the website is not using MailChimp. The Avia Layout Builder contact form is being used and is being sent back to an email address connected to the website. In some cases, the client tells me, when a newsletter application is received only the name of the applicant and NOT the email address is received.

    I will delete the present form and add a new one and see if that refreshes the environment and overrides the problem.

    Many thanks

    Hi Ismael,

    In the Newsletter signup form, the applicant’s email address is not included.
    I will add the Recaptcha function and try disconnecting the plugins.
    Could there be any connection to the firewall settings made by the IT dept/s at certain organisations?

    Hi Basilis,

    Thank you for letting me know the issue of the newsletter contact form not returning the applicants email address does not have anything to do with the Enfold (4.5.7.1-beta-2).

    Can you please advise on how to overcome the problem?

    Thank you.

    in reply to: Enfold Header/Logo Layout #1131523

    Hi Ismael,

    Thank you for the code, I placed this in the Enfold quick CSS, general styling section. Please advise me further as this did not work.
    Is it that I should edit a certain CSS file?

    When I use Chromes inspector to get the desired result I need to add more CSS adjustments…I add these too to the quick CSS section but still when I refresh the page another piece of CSS needs adjusting???

    Here are some examples;
    **********************************************************************

    #top #header_main > .container, #top #header_main > .container .main_menu .av-main-nav > li > a, #top #header_main #menu-item-shop .cart_dropdown_link {
    /* height: 45px; */
    /* line-height: 45px; */
    }

    #header_main .container, .main_menu ul:first-child > li a {
    /* height: 88px; */
    /* line-height: 88px; */
    }

    #top #header_main > .container, #top #header_main > .container .main_menu .av-main-nav > li > a, #top #header_main #menu-item-shop .cart_dropdown_link {
    /* height: 45px; */
    /* line-height: 45px; */
    }

    #header_main .container, .main_menu ul:first-child > li a {
    /* height: 88px; */
    /* line-height: 88px; */
    }

    #top #header_main > .container, #top #header_main > .container .main_menu .av-main-nav > li > a, #top #header_main #menu-item-shop .cart_dropdown_link {
    /* height: 45px; */
    /* line-height: 45px; */
    }

    #header_main .container, .main_menu ul:first-child > li a {
    /* height: 88px; */
    /* line-height: 88px; */
    }

    .html_header_top.html_header_sticky #top #wrap_all #main {
    padding-top: 83px;
    }

    #header_main .container, .main_menu ul:first-child > li a {
    /* height: 88px; */
    /* line-height: 88px; */
    }

    .html_header_top.html_header_sticky #top #wrap_all #main {
    padding-top: 83px;
    }

    **********************************************************************

    It confuses me that each time I add another piece of code another needs adjusting – is this the wrong way to approach this or will it eventually have re-written all the CSS values needed to achieve this?

    Many thanks for any advice on this.

    in reply to: Enfold Header/Logo Layout #1130870

    Hi Ismael,

    Thank you for your reply. I have found adding the banner as a background in the header does not seem to work as the banner image gets cropped at differing screen sizes and there is important information on the right of the banner image that the client wants visible. Is there a way to set a responsive background?
    Otherwise, having the “logo banner” in a slideshow seems to be the best solution, I have found…I would just like some advice on how to minimise the custom header settings to lower than 45px i.e. to 1px.

    Many thanks
    Nick

    in reply to: Enfold Header/Logo Layout #1130275

    Hi Basilis,

    Thank you for your answer and suggestion, but I found using the image banner/logo as a background crops the image at different screen sizes and the client will not accept this. Unless I have missed the right set up option this will not work in this instance.

    I have found the most acceptable way to adapt the old layout design into Enfold is to have a 1px high white logo and the menu option to show below the logo area and add the logo/banner in a fullwidth layer slider on each page…please link

    Is there a way to reduce the logo area to 0px as the lowest default setting seems to be 45px?

    by using the browser insector I can edit what I am looking for…
    But if I paste adjustments like this into the quick css it seems to refresh with another piece of code making me think there are many places where this particular css is located.

    #top #header_main > .container, #top #header_main > .container .main_menu .av-main-nav > li > a, #top #header_main #menu-item-shop .cart_dropdown_link {
    /* height: 45px; */
    /* line-height: 45px; */
    }
    #top #header_main > .container, #top #header_main > .container .main_menu .av-main-nav > li > a, #top #header_main #menu-item-shop .cart_dropdown_link {
    /* line-height: 45px; */
    }
    #header_main .container, .main_menu ul:first-child > li a {
    /* line-height: 88px; */
    }
    #header_main .container, .main_menu ul:first-child > li a {
    /* height: 88px; */
    /’ line-height: 88px; */
    }
    #top #header_main > .container, #top #header_main > .container .main_menu .av-main-nav > li > a, #top #header_main #menu-item-shop .cart_dropdown_link {
    /* height: 45px; */
    /* line-height: 45px; */
    }
    #header_main .container, .main_menu ul:first-child > li a {
    /* height: 88px; */
    /* line-height: 88px; */
    }

    Most thankful if you can help with this.

    Hi Mike,

    Perhaps the error message is something to do with the new WordPress software…all seems to be working and the clients are happy the website now shows on IE11. Yes let’s wait and see.

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks, this zip file worked successfully to set up and I have heard from the client the website is working well on IE 11 now. Great ;-)
    There is one thing I wonder about though, I did get an email from WordPress saying the web site had a technical problem…please see the error message below;
    An error of the type E_COMPILE_ERROR occurred on line 146 in the following file: /www/webvol30/3u/uigxfg426azxrs5/socialtbyggande.se/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/functions.php. Hey Mike,

    Thank you for your reply and advice. Can I just confirm, when I upload via Ftp. I should unzip the file first? This is what I usually do when uploading Enfold.
    If this is the case can you please advise me further as for some reason I am unable to unzip this zip file. In the process of extracting the file, this error message occurs…error 0x800040005

    Many thanks for your continued support.

    in reply to: Icon List CSS Error #1085871

    Hi Rikard,

    Thank you for your advice.
    The CSS you provided has helped get the icon to go green but has not helped with the font size or color.
    Furthermore, if I activate the “Delete old CSS and JS Files” it reverts back to the initial problem, so if I uncheck this and reload the CSS I get the icon to work correctly.

    As I mentioned I imported an xml file and enfold theme settings file from a demo build position.
    I can add some url’s if that can help pinpoint the problem…
    Many thanks

    Hi Victoria,

    Unfortunately, this CSS code did not solve the width issue.
    Even with this code placed in both Quick CSS and in the Enfold Custom CSS it appears from the browser inspector .container { max-width: 1010px;} is still the value being used!

    Additionally, I would like to point out certain Enfold Advanced styling features do not seem to be working. (e.g. the <mark> font color should be yellow, not white) (Perhaps there is a connection here??)
    All these issues arose after updating to Enfold 4.5 – there is nothing I have done after the update.

    I have tried updating 4.5 again to see if that might override anything that can be causing this issue but no luck.
    I will be grateful for any further advice.

    Thanks

    in reply to: Google maps API not working … #1033355

    Hi Ismael,

    Yes we have been backwards and forwards over the allowed http referrer and I tried the recent configuration with one * at the end and this was not the answer. My question here is, for future reference, what is the best way to express this ie. as Google expresses with the “https://*.iavsd201.se/*&#8221; or as you suggest in your recent correspondence i.e. without the *. before the website name?

    I have checked the functions.php file and I see there is a different Google map API !!! – I hope this is where the problem resides and now finally this can get this working.

    I am now wondering which is the best most effective way to put this right so that the correct API key gets registered here…
    I know you are suggesting to remove/disable any functions or codes here but would it work to…
    1. Download the functions.php file from the Enfold folder open it in my editor and copy and paste the correct API key in place of the wrong API key save this and upload this file to replace the existing file?
    or
    2. Copy and paste the correct API key over the wrong API key via the WordPress Editor in Enfold: Theme Functions (functions.php)?
    (are both of these approaches the same and achieve the same result?)

    OR
    3. Is it necessary to remove/disable every function or code that relates to google maps to in order to reset this?

    4. If items were removed/disabled in the functions.php file would the correct API key need reactivating in Enfold Google Service panel?

    Rather than try things I write to you for advice on the best procedure in order to avoid not making any mistakes that make things worse.
    I hope that this is where the crux of the problem lies and it is now able to be put right. I think the initial problem may have been in the earlier API key I had not registered Google’s new billing correctly.

    My thanks for your help.

    Hi Rikard,

    Perhaps you never got to see the info I sent in my first correspondence on this…please see below in private content.
    Even though there are some design differences I think these two links show how the <mark> font – colour missing
    and the videos are smaller and the 3 col image too.
    Basically, after the 4.5 update there are some design changes to the structure of the layout.

    I hope this helps to clarify further.

    I have a number more websites using Enfold themes to update and would appreciate resolving this before proceeding.

    Many thanks

    Hi Ismael,
    I am still trying to get iavsd209.se working with Google Maps, I have tried to delete older registrations of API keys and have waited some days in the hope Google clears the system.
    I have made a new account and managed to successfully register the API key with Enfold ;-) however when I try to create a map and go to fetch coordinates I get this error message….

    ” — It seems that your Google API key is not configured correctly
    The key is probably either restricted to the wrong domain or the domain syntax you entered is wrong.
    Please check your API key here
    The domain that should be allowed is:
    https://iavsd2019.se/*

    Do you have any suggestions here?
    Thanks

    in reply to: 4.5 Update – Sub menu Not Working?? #1026365

    Hi Victoria,

    Thank you for sending this thread, and yes the CSS did resolve the issue.
    Can you advise me if there will be another Enfold update arriving shortly with this amendment included, I have upwards of 30 websites using Enfold and do not want to have to add the CSS to each.

    One other thing regarding Theme registration, I have been reading through the steps provided and just to be sure do I need to create a new token (name) for each license that has been purchased and do I then need Revoke the existing API keys at the Themeforest/Envato account?

    My thanks

    Hi Ismael,
    This is the response from Google support…
    ————–
    Hey Nick thank you for your additional information.

    I had no way to check the API keys against the websites you are referring to so if you would be so kind to list the exact pages where I can see the issue/s that would be great.
    This will speed up the troubleshooting process tremendously and hopefully we can close the case and solve the problem quickly.

    Look forward to your response.
    Regards,
    Vin

    At this point, I am not too sure how to list the pages…which pages? The API keys are not being accepted…so I have not made any pages.

    Yes, I have already updated the theme to 4.5 for iavsd2019.

    Thanks

    Hi Ismael,

    Yes I know the API for iavsd2019.se does not end in “WQN4” it ends in “XdmM”…I was pointing this out to support at Google!
    And yes I have created two separate projects for each site. Both of which are not accepting their respective API keys in the Enfold panel?

    Hi Ismael,

    I have been in contact with Google support during the last days… I will now copy and paste the last interactions I’ve had, perhaps you might see something!!!
    (Please note at this stage even though we have just been addressing iavsd2019.se I have previously tried to activate Google maps on another website, using Enfold, ddi2018.org)

    Hi Ismael,

    Thank you for your recent advice. I noticed there was an Enfold update so first I installed that and then I made the adjustment you recommended at Google maps this does not seem to have resolved the problem. Now when I click Check API Key it does not load (just spins).

    Thanks

    in reply to: Google maps API not working … #1020690

    Hi Ismael,

    Thank you for your recent mail. I have added the URLs to the key restrictions list and waited for Google to process this, however, I still get the same error message in Enfolds Google Services Panel.

    Could not connect to Google Maps with this API Key.
    Troubleshooting:
    Check if you typed the key correctly.
    If you use the restriction setting on Google try to remove that, wait a few minutes for Google to apply your changes and then check again if the key works here. If it does, you probably have a syntax error in your referrer URL
    If none of this helps: deactivate all plugins and then check if the API works by using the button above. If that’s the case then one of your plugins is interfering.

    After checking the API Key that was saved it seems to disappear when the page is loaded again…
    I wonder if you any further ideas here?

    Thanks
    Nick

    Hi Ismael,

    In my last two replies, I have supplied you with respective login details and keys…Please note with the two sites in question IAVSD and DDI, I have tried to save the API key in the Enfold – Google Services panel – but it does not seem register.

    Thanks

    in reply to: Google maps API not working … #1019820

    Hi Ismael,

    This is interesting, this is the second website I have sent you (approx 10days ago I sent you another website DDI2018.org) and you noted the same thing. This time with IAVSD2019.se I double checked everything before sending you the details.
    I have just tried again using another browser (previously Chrome) now Explorer on Windows 10 and I get the same error message – “Could not connect to Google Maps with this API Key.”

    I am not too sure what is meant or how to resolve the point in the Troubleshooting about the “Google restriction setting” – if this is where the problem may be?

    Many thanks

    Thank you for the link I think I have been through it thoroughly but as yet I am still getting a “Could not connect to Google maps” message after clicking the “Check API Key”. I have screenshots of confirmation that I have generated an API key and enabled billing…will be thankful for any assistance you can provide.
