in reply to: google map element vs google map element #1253970

ok – it’s not really super important, but is there a reason the maps look different?

in reply to: google map element vs google map element #1252766

I did remove it since it broke the footer. I put the html code inside footer column 1 which I thought would contain the width but it didn’t.
Do I need a column code in the html itself?
    thanks

I get that same mail about once a week, not related to any changes on the site. It started after the latest updates. Not sure if I will still get them after deleting that item.

    Hi Rikard
Thanks for the help. I didn’t realize that error message was targeting a specific portfolio item – I trashed that item and it also had the error when in the trash so permanently deleted it. No error message now. I’ll check the plugins.
I do wonder about all these emails I get from wordpress about a problem on the site.

An error of type E_ERROR occurred in line 143 in the file /customers/e/d/0/joshuatree.dk/httpd.www/wp-content/themes/enfold/includes/admin/register-portfolio.php. Should I just ignore this?
    thanks
    Nancy

You can check it – even on the live site.
I disabled all plugins and isolated rank math as causing the issue.
Do you see an issue with another plugin?
    \thanks for your help!

When it’s only rank math activated I see the error. Surprised me that it was causing issues – I sent the developers a support ticket too.

    OK!
I found that the issue is with Rank Math, which I find strange.
Is that not compatable with Enfold? I have been switching all my sites from Yoast to Rank Math…
Should I switch this site back or is this a known issue with Rank Math?
    thanks for the help
    Nancy

Thanks will try that but the emails I am getting from wp point to a theme issue? With these kinds of errors, how will I know if disabling the plugins has cleared it up? the only error message I see on the site is in the portfolio drafts.

Now I again have gotten a letter from WordPress – see below

in reply to: captions under image in gallery? #1250495

I figured out how to pull the captions underneath the images in a masonry gallery, instead of it overlapping the photo.
    thanks for your help.

in reply to: captions under image in gallery? #1250447

is there a plugin you recommend. or another type of gallery? Isn’t the gallery element capable if having the caption/title underneath?
    thanks for taking a look

in reply to: Social share button #1248735

OK I got the icon in the menu bar working on PC, but would like to have the icon on mobile as well, preferably in the flyout menu. How can I do this?
    thanks

in reply to: MENU gone / header options unstable with WP 5.5 update #1248631

    you can close it thanks

in reply to: Social share button #1248630

yes I saw that they were being hidden in the socket.
Now I would rather have them in the menu bar at right but the option in the menu area is not doing it.
    Can you check that?
    thanks

in reply to: urgent: error message from wordpress #1248521

ok thanks. it seems to be ok.

in reply to: MENU gone / header options unstable with WP 5.5 update #1248520

    Hi Rikard
    I’m running 4.7.6.3 already.
    thanks for the code.
Is it possible to put a similar icon in the footer, or at the right in the menu bar?
I set that option under the header options but there is no icon.
I’d like it to be with a blue background instead of white.
    thanks
    Nancy

I am having the same issue

in reply to: urgent: error message from wordpress #1245134

sorry that was the wrong message I copied!
this is what I keep getting from WP:

From WordPress 5.2, there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme is to blame for a bug on your site, and notifies you through this automated email.

In this case, WordPress has found a bug in your theme, Enfold.

First of all, visit your website (https://www.joshuatree.dk/) and see if there are any visible problems. Next, visit the page where the error was found (https://www.joshuatree.dk/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=portfolio) and see if there are any visible problems.

Contact your host for help investigating this issue further.

If your page appears to be broken and you do not have access to your control panel as usual, WordPress now has a special “restore mode”. This lets you log in securely to the control panel so you can investigate the error further.

    https://www.joshuatree.dk/wp-login.php?action=enter_recovery_mode&rm_token=sGVINp8Yo6ekUEXvmUvmGc&rm_key=fsXm56LcbxvT9AbA496vI8

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Do not worry. If the error occurs again, after this time, a new email will be sent to you.

If you are asking for help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
    WordPress version 5.5.1
Current theme: Enfold Child Theme (version 1.0)
    Current plugin: (version)
    PHP version 7.4.10

    Hi Rikard,

The update broke my site, not sure if you can see where the problem is in the alerts I was sent in the private content?
I restored the site to a previous version so it would work and won’t be updating until I’m sure the new WP works with Enfold.
Are there other users having issues?

    /Nancy

in reply to: help! can't edit from front end #1220238

    Hey thanks –
it was the pop up maker plugin that was logging me out and also causing the header problem.
    All fixed now I think.

in reply to: help! can't edit from front end #1220067

HI and thank you for the advice & code. I worked out the layout, but don’t understand why I need to put in that css to get it to look like it used to. It’s OK.

I still seem to be getting logged out when I go to view or preview a page – so I can only edit from the backend. It doesn’t have to do with the “show toolbar” since that was already selected. The url that it goes to is not logged in I guess. It’s really a pain to go back and forth and not be able to access the pages from the front end. I remember this happened one time to a site some years ago, but forgot how I fixed it.
    any advice?
    Nancy

The site seems more stable when I edit in chrome.
If i look at the contact page in chrome I still see the strikethrough text where it says:
Connect with me on LinkedIn: Barbara K Andersen

in reply to: hover on column background image, floating button #1190258

    HI Mike
    That all worked great!
I also looked at a way to fade the hover in and out using a code block – would it be possible to put the same effect on the .nordic column?
See the duplicate image on the right on the page below. I’d like the background image on the left to have the same effect.
I am using the code from this post: http://css3.bradshawenterprises.com/cfimg/
thanks so much for your help!
    Nancy
