  • Ok no worries thanks for all the great support !.
    I might go back to the standard one row of 4 not using the stretched function just for these related project portfolios, as it looks weird having that one thumbnail on its own.

    But Ill keep it for the home page which looks great, thanks again

    Amazing thanks that works now !

    One issue I’m not sure is possible to do, is I have a one row portfolio on all portfolio item project pages showing related projects just in one single row underneath. So now when it changes to 4 columns on smaller screens it puts the 5th thumbnail underneath forming two rows.

    Is there any way to force it to only ever have one row for these related project portfolio grids?. so on larger screens the single row and 5 columns , and smaller screens switches to 4 columns and puts the 5th on a next page instead of underneath, many thanks again

    Hi Ismael thanks for the quick reply and comments on my portfolio, I just tried this but cant get it to work, have I put it in the wrong place in my custom.css ? heres my code, i put it directly underneath the style that is already there

    Desktop Styles
    ================================================== */
    /* Note: Add new css to the media query below that you want to only effect the desktop view of your site */

    @media only screen and (min-width: 768px) {
      /* Add your Desktop Styles here */
      /* chnage height of fullwidth slider */
    .avia-slideshow-inner {
    height: 350px !important;
    }
    .caption_container{
    height: 350px !important;
    }

    }

    @media only screen and (max-width: 989px) and (min-width: 768px) {
    #top .grid-sort-container .no_margin.av_one_fifth {
    width: 25%;
    }
    }

    If I put it within the first style it changes it to 4 columns but on everything ?
    Apologies for my lack of knowledge on this, thanks

    Hi thanks very much. The update has changed my portfolios to stretched full width but I quite like it !

    in reply to: Enfold not working with yoast video seo #179729

    Hi, so the Yoast support came back with…

    “I’ve made some adjustments to our plugin and uploaded the beta-version to your website. It should support the av_video shortcode (in combination with Vimeo) now.”

    I’ve tested it and it all seems to be working fine now, I presume they will make a proper update available
    Many thanks

    in reply to: Full width easy slider constant height #174447

    perfect thanks, this may make the caption invisible on ipads as well, I’m not sure as I don’t have one, but I can live with that, huge thanks again

    in reply to: Full width easy slider constant height #174443

    ah that’s awesome, sorry I didn’t realise that. Works much better now.

    One last question, how would I make the font smaller or not even visible just for mobile phones as the captions pretty much covers the image when viewed on a phone, thank you (not ipads this size will be fine)

    I tried adding
    .avia-caption-title h2 {
    font-size: 10px;
    }

    but didn’t work, my knowledge is limited on this sorry, cheers

    in reply to: Full width easy slider constant height #174435

    Genius thanks !
    Only thing now I’ve noticed this slider does not work well in responsive, when I shrink the browser window width or check on my phone the captions jump outside and below the images?

    Without this code change the captions stay on the image but completely cover them when its phone size. Is there a way to turn the captions off when it gets to a certain size, or shrink the captions ?

    This happens with or without the code change: the line with the little dots you can press to change the slider image goes way below, it doesn’t seem to stay tight below the images
    Thanks again for all the help

    in reply to: Full width easy slider constant height #174427

    Hey, sorry but I don’t have those options with the full width easy slider, that’s only in the advanced layer slider?

    in reply to: Full width easy slider constant height #174382

    cheers that works perfectly ! I wanted it a bit thinner so set it to 350 px
    one more thing, when the screen is a full width on the captions are right on the bottom of the images, and also the images are aligned to the top so you see the top, is there a way of setting it all to vertical align center ? or moving the captions up at least

    When I shrink the window in width the captions then move to the center of the slider images vertically.
    I tried looking at inspect element in chrome but could find the correct style to adjust for this sorry

    Thanks again for the speedy support

    Hi Josue, the page in question is http://www.dev.davidmattock.co.uk/about-me/
    you’ll see when it slides to the second image the height grows

    Do I have to use images that all have exactly the same dimensions set already? I was hoping the slider would just crop the height for me,
    many thanks

    Woo hoo!.. thanks finally got it how I want with your help, thanks again for the great support.

    in reply to: Changed rollover icon but doesn't look correct #172992

    Hi thanks for persisting with this and all your help , the outline looks really bad and is happening on all of them so think I’m going to have to give up on this. I also tried a non circular icon for eg : “U+E744″ which I’ve seen used by others, but this was just blank on roll over didn’t work at all ?

    I changed the same as others {content:”\E744”;} ?

    This is not working well so can I use my own png , if so how do I do this ?
    Many thanks

    Now I also have a new problem, I’ve updated to the latest Enfold from 2.2 to 2.3 and now I cannot change icons at all only the font size ?

    after updating the theme, the icon wont change at all with exactly the same code changed, only the font size change works
    Many thanks

    Hey Ismael, seems my provider went down for literally a few minutes when you tried, try again it seems fine now, sorry again

    in reply to: Changed rollover icon but doesn't look correct #169916

    Hi sure its http://www.dev.davidmattock.co.uk/

    You’ll see I’ve made the icon bigger on the thumbnail rollovers just to test it but the icon wont change now I’ve updated the theme
    Many thanks

    in reply to: Changed rollover icon but doesn't look correct #169338

    Hey Ismael thanks for the reply. That’s great for the alignment but what about my first problem of the icon not looking like it should do.
    here is what it should look like
    icon

    but mine has two problems
    1) the plus symbol is much thinner
    2) it has a circular a white border ?
    i just want the plus symbol exactly as it shows in the entypo library

    Now I also have a new problem, I’ve updated to the latest Enfold from 2.2 to 2.3 and now I cannot change icons at all only the font size ?
    I’ve added the same code to the new base.css file and have tried various things with the 2295 adding U in front etc

    With the update do we need to change more than those two lines now ?
    Many thanks

    in reply to: Crop and choose section of image for thumbnails #169309

    Hey Devin, I gave that plugin a try and its excellent thanks ! My thumbnails are all now in a 16:9 format and not being cropped, I didnt ave to go into my funtions.php which I thought I’d have to do. And the good thing is any new projects I add are automatically set to my new size, perfect thanks again.

    I noticed as the page is loading all the areas are the old size then as the images loads it snaps to my new size, no biggie just wondered why?
    cheers!

    in reply to: Crop and choose section of image for thumbnails #168454

    Thanks you have been a great help!

    one last thing is it possible to keep the thumbnails in a widescreen 16:9 format if I wanted, so the correct dimension would be 342 x 192 ?
    I have just tried uploading a thumb this exact size and it again zooms in and crops the sides off, cheers

    in reply to: Crop and choose section of image for thumbnails #168396

    Hey that was even quicker reply than normal :)
    Can i ask a dumb question then..

    When I set the featured image for these I used the largest image I had normally in a 16:9 widescreen Tv format and at least 1280 x 720 to cover all sizes, but Enfold automatically crops the image for me, it doesn’t keep the 16:9 format and chops the sides off which end up a 4:3 format

    which is fine as long as all thumbs are the same height, but they certainly aren’t square, that is why I ask for the height enfold has automatically cropped them to,

    OR how do I keep the thumbnails in a widescreen format which would be good?
    Many thanks again

    in reply to: Crop and choose section of image for thumbnails #168364

    perfect thanks.. and do you know the height ?
    I want to make them the right ratio so there is not squash or stretch, cheers!

    in reply to: Crop and choose section of image for thumbnails #167827

    Ah I didn’t realize that I had to regenerate after cropping, I thought when you clicked update it would resize that one image you just edited.
    I don’t need to do it to all of them so may be easier to create my own,

    > Can you please tell me the width and height of a 3 column single thumbnail in case I want to create myself please ?
    or where I can find the dimensions that enfold uses for the thumbnails.

    many thanks again for your thorough and great support
    David

    in reply to: Crop and choose section of image for thumbnails #167613

    Hi Josue, that would be great thanks, I’ve added you as an administrator and you should receive password etc.
    Its probably something stupid I’m doing, apologies in advance.

    Is it better to do it the manual way, any advantages ?
    If i do it manually, what are the dimensions to cover 3 and 4 columns portfolio grids, many thanks again
    Dave
