Thanks for catching that. But, after fixing it, it still does not change the problem. I did check all of the other Text widgets for any broken HTML, but they appear to be fine.
Okay, that’s what I feared. The widget is part of the basic WP set-up, so not so easy to send a message to the widget author for recommendations. I’ll just stick with having people login/register from the default areas instead of the widget.
Anyway, thanks for looking into that for me.
December 6, 2017 at 9:27 am in reply to: Text widget (Arbitrary text.) not allowing for content. #885445The existing text widget (as you saw in Display Everywhere) does display content. It’s when you drag and drop in a new instance of the text widget into a sidebar. In this instance, the Text widget within the Footer – column3 sidebar. Please see the screenshot (linked from Private).
The captcha still does not show on that test page location.
Sorry you had trouble getting in. Please try again (same credentials.)
Nikko,
I’ve created a test page (see private) to show you how the widget in a sidebar does not show the CAPTCHA. I’ve also created Admin privileges for you (in private as well).
December 1, 2017 at 2:43 am in reply to: The plugin Yoast SEO is in conflict with the 4.1 update. #883667I’ve been getting a similar message on several of my Enfold sites. I’ve narrowed it down to the SEO Yoast plugin. When I turn it off, I’m able to update my pages edits. When it’s on, I get the following error message (and edits to no take):
This page isn’t working
humansolutions.org is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500I have enfold version 4.2.
When I read Ismael’s reply, above, he mentions that one should “reconfigure the theme options to refresh”. Does this mean to select another theme temporarily, then return back to Enfold?October 26, 2017 at 8:43 am in reply to: Dropdown Menu in Burger/Mobile Menu Navigation not working #869139I’m having the same problem. Is there a solution yet?
September 28, 2017 at 11:20 am in reply to: full width button conflicts with Yoast SEO plugin #857951Thanks Victoria,
I hadn’t thought of turning off debug because that error message didn’t display on the top of the (otherwise) working page. But, you were right that turning it off would fix it.
Thanks for your help.September 17, 2017 at 12:49 pm in reply to: Plugin conflict between Social Share Buttons and TF Random Numbers plguin #853058“Nesting” is a term for when we made websites using tables. One would insert table cells into table cells, to create a mosaic of a final look. Anyway, if one wishes to create a two-column page, where 1 column was just text, but the other column had 4 Animated Numbers, then the process would be to:
* choose Grid Row, with 2 columns
* in one row, drag the Text element
* in the other row, drag in a 1/4 Layout Element (do this 4 times), and within each 1/4 Layout Element, drag in the Animated Numbers.This is what I was trying to do using only Layout Elements before.
September 16, 2017 at 12:45 am in reply to: Plugin conflict between Social Share Buttons and TF Random Numbers plguin #852747I noticed today, by accident, that I can nest columns within the Grid layout option. I’m pretty sure that I had tried this work-around before, in another version perhaps. (Is this a new feature?) Anyway, this does what I need to do to create a 2 column format, one column having multiple Animated Numbers within it. So, all good now.
September 5, 2017 at 4:11 am in reply to: Plugin conflict between Social Share Buttons and TF Random Numbers plguin #847957Okay, thought I’d check on that.
Best,September 3, 2017 at 3:02 am in reply to: Plugin conflict between Social Share Buttons and TF Random Numbers plguin #847265After some time now looking into other counter options, I see that Enfold provides one in Layout Builder. Because I plan to use this within a 1/2 column, how can I get 4 numbers in a row?
From what I see, it looks like I would have to place 1 Animated Number only into a 4 column structure. That wouldn’t work out for me.
Thanks again for you time,
Yes, thanks Ismael, that worked. I had not applied “(min-width: 767px)” to my @media.
Great work-around, but I found that on mobile width, the hamburger menu fails to appear. (I need the hamburger menu to appear.)
Here’s the code I’m using:
.header-scrolled nav.main_menu {opacity: 1;} nav.main_menu {opacity: 0;} .header-scrolled #header_main {border-bottom: solid 1px #e2e2e2;} #header_main {border-bottom: none;}
Thanks Rikard. That would be my plan B. I had, in the past, used custom post Types which, somehow, gave me the ability to make special breadcrumb selections. Was looking for an easy work around. But, no worries, I’ll re-trace my steps if I have to.
Thanks again,
Okay, good to know. Thanks Ismael.
Hi Sarah. Right now it is in Local Host. So, I’ll have to follow-up on this once I upload to the actual server.
It’s for a website with 100 meeting chapter locations.
Smart Slider 3 (by Nextend) is what I’m using. The interface is really good, and they make it easy to learn the features with video tutorials (launched from the Settings page), a forum and they reply to emails.
No worries. I decided against using the Easy Slider and went with a plugin instead.
Thanks though,
Basilis. Thanks, I’ll look into that. However, and I just noticed this, when I view on IE browser, each of the video audio is heard. (Please see Private content)
Goldengate, I tried your solution, but that didn’t work.
Easy Slider.
:-)When my page loads, the video begins automatically. Is there a way I can have it not start up unless prompted to do so?
now it is viewing. Did you do anything on your end?
Hi Yigit,
Adding the LayerSlider item isn’t the problem in this case. Going back into it and editing it is. When you try to do this, all of the content and options are missing.
I was thinking it was some sort of security setting from the hosting service, but they said it’s not.cool. thanks.
Hi John,
I’m using IE 11. But, I swapped out the video to a more compresses size of 1.2mb (instead of 5) and it’s now viewing on IE quickly.
One other question. I saw a post by one of your other techs recommending multiple versions of the video. So, within the “video/audio” area of LayerSlider, I am using the following code. Is this the best one to use with LayerSlider?
<video width=”320″ height=”240″ preload=”metadata” controls>
<source src=”/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/coffeehouse-mobileusers-sm-bitrate.webm” type=”video/webm”>
<source src=”/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/coffeehouse-mobileusers-xsm-bitrate.mp4″ type=”video/mp4″>
</video>Yes, I only use I.E. for testing (so, my changing browsers is not the real issue here). When I create a website, it needs to view reasonably well on all browsers–even I.E.–for those who don’t use faster loading ones.
What about using other video formats other than mp4?
Hi Victoria,
The problem has indeed been resolved. Tested on 2 separate websites and hosting accounts. The problem was indeed security settings by the hosting company (Westhost). About a week ago (which is when the problems were being noticed) they had arbitrarily made some changes to the server security settings, thus creating havoc with the Enfold theme. Hopefully, this will help others finding similar issues going on.
Best,
