This may be the wrong thread to post this (if so, I’ll start a new thread), but it does pertain to the aforementioned CPU usage issue.
I’m currently using the Westhost hosting service. Unfortunately, they are not long providing the support and service they once had. Have you come across a hosting environment that works well with Enfold and provides really good customer support 24/7? I’ve found that the really big companies (e.g. GoDaddy) are too big to pay attention to smaller customers. Thanks for the recommendation, Basils.
The only thing I really use of the Yoast SEO plugin is the ability to change the meta title and description for each page. I already have a pretty good handle on SEO methods, so their plugin is simply too bloated for what I need. I’m hoping that Rank Math will be less taxing on our server’s CPU usage.

I would be interested in Enfolds recommendation as well. The Yoast SEO is indeed a power pig. And as I search for alternatives, The Seo Framework (thhttps://wordpress.org/plugins/autodescription/) is emerging as a great alternative. One reviewer mentioded that it was “lightweight and powerful” but I don’t know if it is substantially.
I’ll be having to switch out my Yoast SEO plugins on several of my sites. I’m hoping that Seo Framework (or whichever is recommended by Enfold) will be the safe choice.
Since I am having a similar issue, I am wondering if my PHP needs to be upgraded from 7.2 to 7.3. What is the current recommended PHP from Enfold now?
Dirk,
By any chance are you using the All-in-One Calendar plugin? If so, that may be the problem. They say it’s a lot of scripts and php. Way beyond my understanding.
What I am finding is that when I de-activate All-in-one event plugin by Time.ly, some of the CPU resources return. I also found that the WP upgrade to 5.3 may also be responsible. I am having the hosting service restore a previous version of the site (from 5 days ago) to see if that corrects the problem. Then I’ll hold off on any updates until we better understand this problem. Thanks for the quick reply on this. I’ll provide an update as soon as I know more. (I imagine others with this Time.ly plugin may be experiencing something similar.)
I’m getting that too. My server’s CPU usage is maxed out and the tech support folks at the hosting service are telling me “there are number of simultaneously running php and cgi scripts, as well as cron jobs and shell sessions limit 3554 times.”
And the 500 error is rather random. The CPU will either be 100/100 or down to 34/100, at any given minute.
The thing is that I’ve not done anything to the site for weeks with no problem. I’ve checked the Google Analytics and the site traffice is normal. Also, there does not seem to be a brute force attack going on.I’ve turned off the plugins and checked, but the see-saw CPU usage result remains the same. I’ve also returned the Enfold version back to 4.6.2 and this didn’t change anything either.

If you have any clues to what might be happening, please let me know. Thanks!
Yup, this is an odd one. Sometimes it shows and sometimes not. But it’s been showing for 2 days now (I check throughout the day) and my last “fix” (which is to disable/enable the Yoast SEO plugin) may have something to do with it. I’ll call this closed for now and report back later if the problem persists.
The problem is somewhat random. You might check again to see if it’s there now. For me, the problem isn’t showing at the moment.
Did you download the screen caputre pdf I supplied in Private that shows the problem?
Hi folks. I’m wondering when enfold 4.6.3.2 (or whatever the next upgrade number will be) will be available. It’s been more than a month since the Google Maps problem with Safari.
Thanks.
Is the Safari bug the same issue as google maps not working on Mac iOS devices?
Ah, okay. Thanks for the update on the upcoming update.
I’ll hold off on this change for now then.
Thanks for the quick reply Yigit,
Hmm. That’s a work-around I’d like to embark on only as a last course of action.
Will the problem be fixed in the next Enfold update? Or, is this problem unique to the website in question?
One other item, and this may fix the issue, since most of my websites are intended to be viewed within the USA, can we bypass the cookies warning and allow for maps to view on all devices?
I’ve followed those instructions, but no change. (Please see my private response on that link you provided).
Thanks. This reply has been marked as private.I’ve reloaded my sites with the previous Enfold version (4.6.2) and Google Maps returns on iOS/Mac devices.
Please let me know when a new Enfold is ready to upload, or a solution is found.
Best,
Yes, here too! I noticed my Google maps not showing on Mac and iphone devices (but shows on Android and Windows) after I upgraded the Enfold theme to 4.6.1.
I’ll reload ver 4.6.2 to see if that version still works.
July 17, 2019 at 9:12 am in reply to: Google PageSpeed Insights issues on all my Enfold sites #1119460Well, it if were only 1 site, I’d focus on Google. But since it is all my sites, then I’m thinking theme.
Yes. This fixed it.
I turned off the schema markup in Enfold > Layout Builder panel. Activated WP SEO Structure Data Schema plugin and entered the schema content and now it show no errors.
Thanks for that.
I have isolated the problem on my site. I believe it is an Enfold bug that needs fixing. (Or not, you tell me.)
To view the error, and to perhaps help me (and other Enfold users) how to work around it, please use this Post address within the Google Structured Data Testing Tool: https://dotorgwebworks.org/make-a-charity-website/
Here you will see the errors appear. They are coming from the footer.
Here is what’s happening:
When I apply an iconlist within the footer of my website (using the feature in your Layout Editor to create a widget), i.e.:
[av_iconlist position='left' iconlist_styling='' custom_title_size='15' custom_content_size='' font_color='custom' custom_title='#99cc00' custom_content='' color='custom' custom_bg='' custom_font='#ffffff' custom_border='' av-medium-font-size-title='' av-small-font-size-title='' av-mini-font-size-title='' av-medium-font-size='' av-small-font-size='' av-mini-font-size='' av_uid='' custom_class='' admin_preview_bg='']
[av_iconlist_item title='Contact Us' link='page,5625' linktarget='' linkelement='both' icon='ue814' font='boat'][/av_iconlist_item]
[/av_iconlist]it produces an “<article class>” tag before the item. Then the Structure Data Testing Tool expects that this is part of the post or something.
So, I would like to be able to keep using the iconlist in my footer (column 1) widget, but not have it create the error message that you now are seeing. Can this be done?
Thanks again,
Hi Ismael,
Yes, using another plugin should do the trick. The problem right now seems to be coming from the upgrade at Yoast SEO. That is why I shared with you a link to your very own post (https://kriesi.at/archives/enfold-4-5-new-template-builder-elements-more-options-and-demos-and-a-few-words-about-the-gutenberg-editor) where you can see for yourself (in Google Structured Data Testing Tool) the errors that is being produced–even within your own product example. ;-)
Hi Mike.
Once I looked over several of my Enfold websites I’m seeing that there is a conflict with the new Yoast SEO schema markups and the theme. To give you an example, using an Enfold post from your website, i.e.: https://kriesi.at/archives/enfold-4-5-new-template-builder-elements-more-options-and-demos-and-a-few-words-about-the-gutenberg-editorNow, if you paste that into the Google Structured Data Testing Tool: https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool you will see errors.
One final question. The new version of Yoast SEO plugin has a schema option, but only when the WP Block Editor is used. So, I’m wondering what would be the best companion plugin for schema markup for Enfold.
I’m currently using WP SEO Structure Data Schema plugin, but it appears to not be fully compatible with Enfold.thanks again.
I finally found the spot in Yoast where they pull the Schema data from. It’s within the Search Appearance tools.
Thanks for the help on this Mike.
I just activated the WP SEO Structure Data Schema plugin, which has added a schema below the one on line 28. (So, I know where that Schema content is coming from, but not the above one).
oh, duh (slap forehead sound). please see private.
thanks. You’ll see it in the view source (please see private content)
Oh, there it is. Thanks for directing me to the activation option.
A couple of days ago, Yoast SEO updated their plugin that appears to be fixing the Schema issue on so many websites. So, my issue may be resolved.
One other item though. In the Schema markup, it specifies my contact information (e.g.: phone number, etc.). Where are they picking that up? It’s at/near the activation checkbox you have directed me to.
Okay, thanks for the look-over. I didn’t think I had to wrap it in a “<?php>” tag, but wanted to check anyway.
