Adjusting the font size affects the Desktop/Laptop adversely as well as the Cell mode.

This reply does not address why updates to the theme disrupted cell phone layouts.

Q: how do we retain our Desktop/Laptop layouts while regaining an elegant look for the cell mode in responsive Design?

NOTE: we have not altered out layout since the initial rebuild of the site using Enfold theme. This site used to look perfect in responsive design.

I immediately ran into the issue again after emptying browser cache, I contacted WPMU support the makers of the Hummingbird optimization plugin. They surmised it IS a caching issue.

“Well, in that case you could exclude that page from be cached and/or exclude Gravity Forms assets from Hummingbird Pro CDN”

“Gravity Form assets excluded, rechecking the files.”

“The Hummingbird Pro Cache is not Active, so, the issue is caused by the Asset Optimization feature, I exclude all the Gravity Assets from the CDN, that could solve the issue. Now need to wait all the others Asset begin to be served from the CDN and check the site during a period of time to see if the issue still there.”

The issue should be resolved for now.

If I add the code in the child theme’s functions.php file I receive the following error

Your PHP code changes were rolled back due to an error on line 50 of file wp-content/themes/enfold/functions.php. Please fix and try saving again.

Cannot redeclare avia_masonry_entries_query_mod() (previously declared in wp-content/themes/enfold-child/functions.php:15)

SIDE NOTE: When I activate the child theme, it looks NOTHING like the parent theme. I wouldn’t be able to use the child if it doesn’t mirror the parent settings save for the changes applied to functions.php. (I’m switching the site back t the parent theme)

I have installed the latest version. Hopefully that resolves this.

Suggestion to Enfold: Please post WHY that message appeared for us so theme users have an idea of what occurred.

I think most people do not understand what an error of type E_ERROR that was caused in line 563 is. We just know it sounds bad.

That is WAY too long and confusing with several branch off conversations. By the end if the thread I couldn’t understand if this was about showing or hiding sticky plugins or removing duplicate posts…etc…

….

Can you please just provide a simple answer like…This cannot be done in this mode, use this other mode

OR

Just provide code for an MU plugin that I can upload and use.

This code works for making the nav bar button round:

There is a second issue outstanding. To reiterate:

Prior to the upgrade my images had a zoom in hover effect but the physical size of the image never increased. So for example an 800×600 image did not increase to say 900×1200 pixel on hover , it remained an 800×600 image.

The Main Hover BG and Border colors do not appear to be applying:

NOTE: The code provided does not reduce the space between the logo and nav bar. The Construction site I’d like to emulate in appearance does not have a large margin of space between the logo and nav bar.

NOTE: The code provided moves the social media icons as well. The Construction site I’d like to emulate in appearance locks the social media bar to the right.

Please advise on how I can further teak the layout to best emulate the construction site.

Where is the Child theme packaged?
I downloaded a full copy of all files from https://themeforest.net/downloads.

I unzipped the enfold zipped folder. There is no child theme packaged with it.
