The automatic updates doesn’t work with all server environments unfortunate, but you could try running this plugin in order to clear WordPress transients to see if that helps: https://wordpress.org/plugins/transients-manager/. If not then I think you will have to update manually via FTP: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

It is not tested with enfold. Enfold theme has it’s own page builder and the page bulder plugin should work with the theme if you are only going to use the Elementor.

No you need explicitly target the footer to not have the decoration.
