I just launched my a new Enfold site for my photography biz – showreadyphoto.com.

I used the Landing Page demo as a base, and customized from there. Photos, graphics, and copy were mostly ready to roll, so the entire process only took a few hours. Thanks so much to the Enfold team for making the theme so user friendly.

    Hi Elliott:

    I’m using:
    Mac OS 10.7.5
    Chrome browser, Version 41.0.2272.104 (64-bit)

I’ve activated the menu with absolute links. As before, the entire page reloads when the links are clicked, rather than simply scrolling to the anchor point on the page. This is only a mere annoyance/not clean when used on a desktop browser. However, on mobile devices & tablets, it’s disastrous, as the links will only reload the top of the page and not jump to the anchor point. That discovery is what prompted me to switch to anchor links only (which work beautifully on mobile) in the menu, and request code for a secondary menu for all pages except the main/one-page site.

Does that make sense? If it’s not possible to have two separate menus, just tell me.

    Hi there,

Thanks for working on this. I’m not so good at customizing on my own, so I’m pretty sure that the only current customization was Raleway as font option. However, that was only done recently. The absolute URLs have always prompted the page to reload (long before Raleway was added), which is what prompted me to switch to anchor links.

That said, in case it’s helpful info(?), at some point I had added code to remove certain background images on mobile devices and added my own pinterest button, but all of that has since been overwritten by an update (which is what prompted a switch to a child theme). I haven’t yet taken the time to re-customize those features.

    Thanks again,

    Hey Ismael,

I think it’s a memory problem on my phone. I set up a test page with everything the same at http://www.swaddlephotography.com/test-2. With the masonry it crashed. Without it, it loaded fine.

It seems to be loading fine for others too.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Ismael,

Thanks for the idea. While that seems like a good solution, it makes for clunky use on the main/one page. Instead of just jumping down smoothly from the menu, the whole page reloads and often (half the time) doesn’t land at the right part of the page. Likewise, if on a tablet or phone, the anchor link alone works, but the longer version does not (it simply reloads the page to the top).

So, again, I’m hoping to add an alternate menu to all pages except the main/one-page site. Can anyone help with an alternate menu? Thanks.

    Hi Rikard,

Okay, just updated/re-updated the theme, all the way to 3.1. Still no go. I even cleared browser history & data from my phone and tried reloading. No dice.

I also deactivated all the plugins and tried it. Nothing changed.

Here’s what happens… it starts to load, gets as far as the header, then abruptly stops and reloads the page.
Note: I’m using the same theme on another site and it (mostly) fine.

Here’s a total shot in the dark: I’m starting to wonder if it has something to do with the Masonry Gallery in the middle of the page? There was an issue before with the animated icons not loading, but it was only the icons below the Masonry gallery on the page, not the ones above it. I ended up removing all animation from icons below the gallery and everything worked fine. Bummer to have to do that, but it works.

    Help? Thanks!

    Hi Andy,

That’s right… the HOME link works, but all the other links are effectively rendered dead, as they are anchor links to points on the main/one-page. Does that make sense?

That’s why I’m hoping to add an alternate menu to all pages except the main/one-page site. Help?

    Thanks!

    Hey there,

I’m having the same problem with my site loading into Safari on iPhone 4s, running the latest iOS.

    Error message read:
“A problem repeatedly occurred on “http://swaddlephotography.com/”

This has been going on for a few months. At first it was only when the phone was in landscape orientation. Now it’s both landscape & portrait. Is there any new info on what might be happening here?

    Thanks!

    Hi Peter,

Thank you! That code mostly worked. The ‘From’ address still reads that @box668.bluehost.com, but the reply to address is correct, which I suppose is good enough. :)

Also, to fix the issue with the site disappearing — it was literally a blank page, I couldn’t even access word press to make a back up — I had to locate the functions-enfold.php files in the latest/orig theme files and use that to overwrite the corrupted file via FTP. Once I did, the site popped right back up.

As it turned out, when I removed the previously provided code, I removed one } too many and messed it all up.

Thanks for your help! Much appreciated.

Awesome… and now I’ve removed the code only to have my entire site disappear. Cannot access anything — /wp-admin only brings up a blank page.

I tried going through the backend FTP to replace the file function-enfold.php file with the original matching file from the theme files. Made the replacement, but the site is still down. Help?

Hi there. So, that didn’t quite fix the problem. What it did was redirect the auto-response email meant for the client (the “thanks for subscribing/writing” email) to my email address instead.

What I want is for the auto-response email that the client receives to have a reply-to/from email address, that will actually come back to me, in the event that they reply to the auto-response.

In the image I uploaded, the circled address is what I want to change. Thanks!

Hello! Checking in on this bug fix. Is there any movement on it yet?
    Thanks much,

    Hi Devin,

Good call! That seems to have worked.
I would love to use the masonry gallery, so if Kriesi can take a look, I’d really appreciate it.

Also, I’ll be using the Enfold template on another site (also my own work). Can you remind me… if the purchase good for two installations? Or will I need to purchase another license?

    Thanks so much!

Or… rather, I’m now on 2.9.1 and it’s still happening.

    Hi Devin,

The slow to load issue actually started AFTER I upgraded to 2.9.1 :/

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks,

    Hello Josue,

Just tried it. No changes. :/
    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks,
