3 days later and no response…. hello?
haha yes I totally get it… but when i installed minification plugins they work for all plugins, not just certain ones….
Maybe something to flag with coders for future development?
Enjoy your coffee! :)
Hi Ismael,
I’m not a coder, though I am flattered you think I can do the above… the only filter I use is a coffee filter! haha
It seems like if Enfold is going to claim minification, the theme should minify all plugins, not just a list. And we should not need to customize code for the minification option to work since minification plugins don’t require a list of plugins.
Where do we go from here? :)
Thanks Ismael…. in private content…..
Hi Ismael,
Is this something that you and the Enfold team might continue to work on, since if it’s affecting me it’s probably affecting others?
Many thanks,
RobIt appears an Enfold mod logged in using the credentials a day or two ago but I don’t see an update on this thread…?
Ismael, haha!!! Unfortunately the compression settings don’t seem to be working….opened new thread in case you want to tackle it! :)
As a long-time Enfolder I just have to say this…
Why don’t mods create sticky about the update to 4.5 since there are so many threads on this? Title could be “Instructions on How to Update to Version 4.5”
Cheers
RobI disabled my minification plugin and that fixed it…. :)
I installed plugin Smart Silder 3 pro and video works like a charm with Enfold on mobile:
In private content, thanks!
To be more precise with this bug in 4.5…. it’s the search preview that is now distorted, with huge thumbnails and lack of text… but if you then click search icon, it DOES go to the results.
Yes small world… it appears that phone number is now assigned to a local real estate agent who I do know. We also live in Marin County so you guessed correctly based on my name!
So you’re saying that on your old 4.41 sites the search works but on 4.5 it does not? Just confirming for the mods.
I hug that bridge every time I cross it…. never gets old!
Best
RobSearch is broken on the new Enfold release. I updated to Enfold 4.5 on my staging site and when I search for “21 Gilmartin” as an example, it no longer works. On my production site, with no other changes except it’s Enfold 4.41, it works fine.
Let me know if you want me to start my own thread, but I’m guessing this is relevant to this thread since I think it’s a 4.5 bug.
Cheers
RobOctober 19, 2018 at 2:40 pm in reply to: Enfold 4.5 Theme Update "Update Failed: Download failed. A valid URL was not pro #1023935Yigit, thanks for the response. I have moved to updating via FTP most of the time anyway since the last major update, so it sounds like all I need to do is regular process (rename Enfold to Enfold old, upload new Enfold theme folder, delete Enfold old.) Then I need to go into the API and update? Or is that update only for auto theme updating?
Sorry, jet lagged!
Thanks

An update that requires this amount of workaround should be rolled back or fixed with 4.5.1. I don’t think it’s fair to push this back on Envato — the bottom line is they are the vendor you use to sell Enfold, and their change has broken the Enfold update process.
I have read this whole thread and I’m unclear — is it OK to just update via FTP, or is there something that will still be broken with the Envato API key?
Thanks
RobDoes the new 4.5 version contain this fix?
Thanks!
RobSo it’s now more than a month later…. summer is over, back to work guys! ha ha.
Ha Ha ok…. well we have waited this long, we can wait a little longer…. :)
Guys… come on… just release an update! Can you imagine if iPhone sent us a bunch of code to install instead of just rolling updates every few weeks? This has been going on for months with no official patch pushed…. Is Kriesi on a beach somewhere sipping a margarita?!? :)
Best
RobThanks Gunter, please keep us posted. It seems like we are way overdue for this patch update.
Best,
RobThat would be great… I know it’s summer, guys, come but on, it’s just a little patch from months ago! Push it! :)
Best,
RobThe 404 page error is still in the production version of Enfold. When is this going to be fixed? It’s been months….
(as a reminder, to replicate go to https://www.thomashenthorne.com/dkdkd/dkdkdk/dkdkdk and instead of the custom 404 page you see a blog article).
Thanks
RobThat is going to be a tough upgrade. I would suggest you push it to a staging site, then upload the theme files via FTP, then make sure everything is working. If you update from the 3.x series to the 4.x series with the WordPress panel upgrade, your site will go down. Also if you have a child theme header.php file, it will need to be updated with the code from the 4.x series.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
You are running into the “strangest technical issues” each week because you are using one of the worst hosting providers out there. Believe me, I was in your shoes, and each week it seemed like something else had gone wrong on the site. I would check the site each morning and hold my breath, wondering if it would load or throw some strange error.
Since I switched, I have had zero problems with my provider. Strange problems like you’re experiencing are a hallmark of Go Daddy so I would strongly encourage you to switch to a better provider. Hope this helps. Best, Rob
Do you have Go Daddy? If so, I would change hosting providers. We had issues like this constantly when we were with GD… the others are just a little bit more in cost but so much more stable.
Yes OK to close, thanks!
Great, it worked, thanks! I always hate to add to functions.php unless I absolutely have to.
Thanks again,
RobYes… I think I’ll stop looking at the error logs! :)
Cheers
RobOk thanks Dude.
