    Thank you Victoria and Nicco for your help. Deactivating css/JavaScript merging and clear all caches has helped – also on the live website.
    Does css / js merging now always have to be deactivated for updates?
    happy is the one who always has a backup at hand ;)

    Thank you for your hint. It seems to work. I disabled css / js merging. After the update, I reactivated the functions and everything apparently worked. However, on a staging site. I don’t dare to apply that to the company website after all the trouble. I had a day of work with it.

    Unfortunately, clearing the cache did not help. I don’t know where ‘css and JavaScript merging’ should be activated. Whether it is activated at all.

    I cannot find a plugin in which ‘css and JavaScript merging’ is activated. Unfortunately, I don’t work alone on the side. But I don’t think another employee wrote something himself. – I’ll clear the cache once. Maybe this helps.

    1. Does this mean that Enfold’s LayerSlider WP is no longer supported?
    Update report …
    2. Of course I want to use the full functionality of LayerSlider WP and the latest version.
    3. Our website has as layout the LayerSlider WP. I find no way to insert the LayerSlider WP with the Gutenberg editor.

    Yes, please! A plugin always helps with WP. It was maybe a stupid question. – I wonder what will be 2022, if these plugins (Classic Editor or Classic Editor Addon) do not do their job anymore and Gutenberg is the main editor. – But it’s not an enfold problem. – Thanks a lot and have a good day!
