I had the same problem… the following helped in my case. Remove the more info button and save. Then add it again, save it and clear site and browser cache. Then reload.
June 4, 2018 at 10:15 am in reply to: Enfold not GDPR compliant – Video with NoCookie from Youtube impossible #966406Guenni007… you can prevent the loading of Google fonts from Google Maps. There’s a solution in your own thread :-)
We still use Google Maps as usual on some of our sites because it’s important for our business and it’s therefore a justified interest. We have the opt-out option in the cookie window and in the privacy policy and if we get a cease-and-desist, I’m ready to fight it (and will probably find somthing on the lawyers’ and their client’s websites which violates the GDPR ;)
For our videos we use the “Wait for user interaction to load the video” option with a fallback image and a short dislaimer before the first video on the page with a link to the privacy policy where you can disable it.
June 4, 2018 at 9:06 am in reply to: Enfold not GDPR compliant – Video with NoCookie from Youtube impossible #966372Marcusjeroch… I think even the nocookie method is not safe if you’re afraid to get cease-and-desists. There’s still a connection to the YouTube servers, so personal data like the IP address is still sent automatically (without opt-in). Some (stupid) German lawyers already sent out cease-and-desists for using Google fonts which doesn’t place cookies either. IMHO there’s no difference between using Google fonts and YouTube nocookie videos, since both do pretty much the same thing, i.e. loading something from Google’s servers and therefore sending the IP address of the visitor to Google.
Hokuspokus… I know this podcast. He’s not talking about the checkbox in general but about asking the user to agree to the way the data is processed within the contact form. His opinion is that you don’t need to do this at all and that it can even do harm. Other “experts” say that you definitely need a checkbox and ask the user to agree to the way the data is processed within the contact form. Therefore we use a compromise of both opinions but everybody needs to make this decision for themselves. We probably won’t know which “experts” are right for 2-3 years :-)
Fakt ist:
We are following up on the news and we will make sure Enfold meets requirements of GDPR before deadline.
And they delivered… they didn’t promise that you don’r need to do any work by yourself :-)
Wow… with the attitude you have I’m glad that I’m not one of your clients.
If you use the tools Enfold provides properly and search for solutions in this forum for the other things, nothing is loaded from anywhere unless you want it to. And I’m not talking about the cookie popup… that doesn’t do anything by itself. Our Enfold websites don’t load anything unless I want them to load it.
For example, I didn’t disable Google Maps because it just doesn’t make sense and the law is not clear on that at all. I’ve received my share of cease-and-desists in the last 20 years and I only signed one (because we made a stupid mistake). In all other cases I didn’t sign it and in the end we never paid a single cent except for the one I had to sign.
It’s not even decided yet whether it’s even legal to send cease-and-desists for GDPR violations. If you want to change all websites in a way that you lose business, you can go ahead. I rather use common sense.
Hokuspokus… I read your posts and I still think you don’t use the tools Enfold provides, e.g. Google Maps: https://imgur.com/dzzIrob
Hokuspokus… I’m wondering why you don’t use the tools Enfold provides?
Google Maps, YouTube & Vimeo… you can set it up so that nothing is loaded unless the visitor clicks.
Google Fonts… you can serve them from your server. BTW Google Maps automatically loads the Google font Roboto (there’s a thread here in the forum with a solution for this).
IMHO Enfold is compliant with the GDPR as it gives you all options you need. Also, maybe you should consider that Germany is the only country where lawyers can just send you a cease-and-desist and ask you to pay their fees even if there’s no reason for the cease-and-desist at all.
Enfold is a theme which you can buy for $60 and I think they did a great job with the last update. IMHO you cannot expect that a $60 theme does all your work and caters to everything you think you might need in Germany (BTW I’m German too :-)
I would also change the password you posted before.
If I were you, I would delete your login details as soon as possible and put them into the private content field. This is a public forum.
No error when I inspect the page. IMHO it cannot be a server issue as this happens on three different hosts (two running Apache and one running Nginx). Oh well, it’s no big deal right now as I’m through with all the changes for now and probably won’t touch the files for some time :-)
Harald… if you check your source code, you will see that layer slider is loading google fonts and you have a dns prefetch for fonts.googleapis.com in there as well.
June 1, 2018 at 4:22 pm in reply to: Enfold blocks whole functionality in "Cookie & privacy" #965445I would just create a dummy privacy policy page in each WP installation – but don’t use it anywhere – and enter your actual privacy policy page into the Enfold settings.
Thank you, Ismael. For now I will just enable the built-in captcha. We’re not getting too many of these messages and maybe the captcha will prevent it.
I just don’t understand how the form can be submitted with a false value and since the privacy policy message checkbox is an Enfold feature, I thought your devs might want to look into this.

June 1, 2018 at 8:55 am in reply to: (German) DSGVO – Deutschland, Datenschutz, Google Fonts, Google Maps, YouTube #965112Susanne… Enfold Child -> Import/Export -> Custom Font Manager
Once the fonts are uploaded you can select them (they will be at the top of the list).
Thank you, Yigit. That’s even better since there won’t be a need to edit all functions.php files manually and it’s not an urgent issue at all.
May 31, 2018 at 8:52 pm in reply to: Google Font API still fires after uploading custom fonts #964939Roboto is also loaded by Google Maps. If that’s the case for you, here’s the solution (works like a charm):
Thank you, Yigit. Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to work though. I tried it on several sites and with different browsers but it’s still the same issue. I deleted the site cache and browser cache before each test, so that cannot be the problem either.
I entered one of my current child functions.php files into the private content field, so that you can check if there might be.a conflict somewhere?
Thanks!
To be honest, I’m not really sure what exactly solved it. I disabled the consent message on all sites (directories), deleted the cache of the entire site and enabled the consent message on all sites again. Then I deleted the cache of the entire site again and also deleted the cache and cookies in my browser and it worked.
It would be nice if you could also answer the following question. It was marked as a duplicate post and closed (so i cannot reply anymore) but it’s a different issue:
