It very well may be that the lack of Upgrade is what is causing the Font Size Error…. hmm… I will upgrade first.

How do i use dropbox to send you a file…?

in reply to: Custom Touches #522646

Here is a link to my website

    Scmjf.org

The question i have is if custom styling would allow for me to make subtle changes to the website,
like editing the display of a specific video block on the website, or adding a vertical black divider bar between the sidebar and the
main menu items [think of l.a. times sidebars]…

in reply to: A solvable problem in relation to Font Size Error #522074

You will gain an understanding of what i want to change by reading my initial post

    I specify.

Temporary admin login will provide you with access –> see below

in reply to: Enfold is coming off too #521297

Should i change the strong tag in advanced styling?

If i change the strong tag color in advanced styling to black, for instance, would that make text that is font color=blue turn

    Strong Black

    Instead of

    Strong Blue

in reply to: columns, right size #521295

I figured out a way to bypass the problem; I will save this thread for future reference

in reply to: A solvable problem in relation to Font Size Error #521290

    How do i attach screenshots?
You can also navigate to see the webpage-problem by going here –> westchesternews.info
    It is quite clear.

in reply to: Enfold is coming off too #519650

I dont think that worked; nothing changed on my website.

    I tested a

Blue and the strong made the originally black text go blue.

in reply to: Getting a page to re-direct #519610

    splendid, thank you.

No; I dont know what that is– Could that be cause of error?

in reply to: Getting a page to re-direct #518924

I do not understand what you are telling me to do. Can you be more explicit in telling me exactly how to navigate where i have to go to insert something, and what it is that i insert in the place that i navigate to?

And what button i press to make the successful end result happen.

    Guide me through, please.

    -Elliot

Yigit, I did, please use the link I provided above, navigate to the page, and view the image.

Basically, when I lay-out the websites “Our Team” page, the biographies are not evenly spaced.

There is more white space on the far left of the page, before the content begins.
And there is less white space on the far right side of the page, before the content ends.

This is because of specific blocks that I picked. The 1/3rd blocks have content; the 1/5th block is white space,
so that people can see the content more centered.

    [1/5] [1/3] [1/3] [1/3rd] [14% nothing]

The 1/5th block creates a white space of 20% page length on the left hand side of the website.
    The 1/3rd blocks have content.
The 14% nothing is created because there is simply white space existent on the website regardless of what i do.

There is 20% on the right side, and 14% white space on the left side. This is not even. This makes the content in the 1/3rd blocks not centered. This is not visually appealing. I see no way around this. How do I fix this?

If you just use this Link, you will see exactly what I am talking about. You will see two examples on the “Our Team” page that illustrate in two different ways how content cannot be centered!

As my screenshot feature is broken, I will speak more simply.

There are two separate pages. GBI and About GBI

About GBI has content; GBI doesnt. GBI is a blank page.

I placed GBI in the main menu; and “about GBI” in the sub-menu below GBI.
I want it to be so that when you click on “GBI” in the main menu, people are directed not to the GBI’s blank page, but to the page “About GBI”.

in reply to: how to specify line height #518452

Thank you attempting, but that did not work. I followed your directions and tested on my website; the writing “<p style=… to ;”>
appeared in actual rendering of the webpage, which it should not have

and the line spacing did not get changed.

I decided to go against that design that i detailed above, but i willl keep your solution as a design tip for the future if i ever seek to make that design.

Its a nice design, and could be useful, but wasnt in my case.

I am in another situation where i cannot have things be centered nicely.
    Can you help?

I am trying to lay out Team Profiles. I want to have three team profiles per row.
There are two ways that i try, that fail.
Visual comprehension is faster then written.
Please look here for two examples of failurehttp://www.globalbusinessincubation.com/wordpress/about
    —————————-

    Here is the case–

    A. Three 1/3rd profiles
    Causes for failure:
    1. the block on the left is too close to the left [we need adequate white space padding so the block is more centered.
This is preferential for eye tracking.]
What is the kind of adequate white spacing i refer to? Scroll your eyes to the far right, to the right 1/3rd block.
You will a nice amount of padding white space.
But even there lies problem number 2) The far right and far left 1/3rd blocks are not uniform.

    B. A 1/5th block with nothing in it, then three 1/4th blocks
    Cause for failure:

Simple. There is more white space adjacent to the left block then the right, creating zero symmetry.
    ————————

    What is the Preferential Solution?
    A fix to Item B.

What is hard to describe in words can be immediately understood by looking.

in reply to: border to image inside textbox #516715

i think i figured it out, thanks

in reply to: The drag and drop feature broke #516714

I have had a lot of trouble trying to update the theme manually.
I propose two courses of action:

    1. Are you certain that we cannot update the theme from the WordPress Dashboard?
Did you try to, yourself, from my website?

    2. I need to be walked-through the update process via screenshare or phonecall if one cannot simply update the theme from the WP Dashboard.

Here are problems I am encountering [I watched the video]
    1. I could not find the “Version” folder.

    2. I could not figure out how to open my FTP Tool or connect to server.
    a. Where is the FTP tool
    b. How do I open it
    c. How do I connect to the server

    3. Clarify—the directions tell me to “unzip” the folder. What does that mean?
I don’t get it, because my folder appears to be already unzipped.
The folder on desktop is titled Enfold—responsive theme [etc]
I click on it; there is a folder inside called “enfold”
I click on that, and all the sub-folders below are contained within.

in reply to: columns, right size #516707

The screenshot function is not working, so i will attempt to paint a picture clearly with words.

With ENFOLD, one is able to use content blocks of varying size.
    1/5th, 1/4th, 1/3rd, 1/2th and 1/1.

I want to have two text blocks of 1/3rd size appear on the page.
I want these two text blocks of 1/3rd size to be evenly centered on the page!

For that to happen, one would assume they should place a 1/5th text block on the far left, and on the far right.
Thus, the two 1/3rd blocks would be nicely sandwhiched between the text blocks; the white space would be even on both sides; and everything would be merry.

    But…

    1/5th + 1/5th + 1/3rd + 1/3rd exceeds 100%.

    So…

    A. The only way i can maintain using two 1/3rd blocks, is to place a single 1/5th content block on the far left.
How does this look visually? The two 1/3rd blocks appear about centered, but there is more white space on the left hand side of the page, and the writing is closer to the right border of the page.

    This is not centered.

This is off by 6%. Small, but noticeable, and lets get things right once and for all.
    Here is the percent distribution:
    [1/5th white space] [1/3rd content] [1/3rd content] [20% “void”]

    20% + 33% + 33% + [14% Void]

Void= i didnt place a content block or anything its just default extra space.

    B. But, you say, things can be aligned. Oh reallly? Heres how–

1/4th block of white space, 1/4th block of content, 1/4th block of content, 1/4th block of white.

See– all nice and even. Yes, but i want to use 1/3rd blocks for the content, so that it wraps more nicely.

But then, refer to item A.

Thank yo, its fixed. Yigit, I have a question.

    I have currently a 2-column footer.

Here is the design I want

Column 1, left Column 1, right

Column 2, left Column 2, right

    Column 3, middle

Can i get a third column to go just centered right in the middle of the footer, so it looks fresh?

in reply to: The drag and drop feature broke #513254

    1. I do not want to recreate the entire page because it would take me hours, being as there is an immense amount of content on that one page (my whole website).

    2. Where in my dashboard can I update to the latest version of Enfold?

Under Updates –> Themes –> It doesnt show any new updates for Enfold.

    3. I created a new content block, 2/3rd length.

    Before I just had one.

    Now I have two.

In the visual composer, I am able to drag and drop into my second content block, new text blocks and elements in place to continue creating my website.

When I preview and update my website, failure happens. Any content in the second block does not render.
But it appears in my Visual Composer.

Can you enter website and update the theme; experience my problem– and solve it.

    excellent, it works, thanks.

in reply to: How do i add a "Read More" button to Enfold? #509276

I would like to have a small border only around the words that are inside of the read more.

Instead of having the border go around the words and the white space, i want i to just appear around the words “see more headlines”.

I also would like to have the + button be a different color.

If you could kindly supply me with the code to execute these tasks I would be grateful.

in reply to: How do i add a "Read More" button to Enfold? #508852

The toggle is nice, but it has this default border that goes around it that makes it look far less minimalist then the classic

    button.

Do you know how i can create a read more button that performs same effect as Toggle Element?

The private area pictures showed french contact information, no screenshots.

How do i clear my cache?

in reply to: The logo area is too small #482905

I set the custom pixel value option and then uploaded a 3,000 x 678 image that was a photo with writing on it. Ultimately, it appeared very small. However, I used a different photo that just had writing on it, and it showed up nice and big, as you can see on westchesternews.info

Why is it that when i uploaded the image that had a background image + writing on it, it showed up small, but when i uploaded the image that only had writing on it, it showed up large?

Friend, Enfold is like a tiger in the forest, striking unexpected and then vanishing with no trace of the previous assault.

The home page problem has vanished; I can now edit it freely without suffering from content at the bottom being cut off.

Before, that situation was happening– in multiple occasions, on multiple occasions, on multiple websites with which i use ENFOLD.

I suppose I shall wait until the Tiger Strikes Again, and then reach out to you.

    –Elliot

p.s. Currently I want the background image of my header area to not be displayed on my main menu, because this would improve readability I want the background image to only be displayed above my main menu. I opened a new thread for this with the administrator tag. Can you assist me?

in reply to: My page will not appear. #460357

Thank you for solving the problem above; there another issue that i want to have fixed, that i asked for support on a while back:

The Menu is hard to read because of the background image that is behind it. I would like for the header area to have a background image in the entire header section, excluding the MAIN Menu.

Resultingly, I would have a clear, white-background-black-text menu; above it, would be a gorgeous background image. In the center of the header area, below the “Southern california musim jewish forum” logo would be a small strip of the background image feeding through. Beneath it would be the white and clear menu.

    Is this possible?

in reply to: My page will not appear. #460353

Its all good. I re-created the page and it turned out excellent.

    This worked; thanks. (FB icon)
