July 16, 2014 at 3:47 pm in reply to: How to create Feature Image without Preview Image appearing in Blog Post #292118
Hey srmathis!
There is a checkbox under the featured image on posts to hide it on the single blog post page which you can use to hide the image on the single posts.
Best regards,
DevinHey!
I’m having no luck trying to log in as well. Not sure if its the restrict login or an error in the username/pass. In the meantime, what steps are you taking to show the sidebar on that page?
Cheers!
DevinHi!
You can see if it will work with one of the default twenty___ themes. Enfold shouldn’t have any conflicts since its using the same WordPress functions but that way you can eliminate the theme variable when testing out adding the new functionality to WordPress.
Cheers!
DevinHey debbienz!
Give your browser a hard refresh to clear its cache. I’m not getting any issues with the new script so its most likely the old cache still loading the incorrect script.
Best regards,
DevinHey!
Unfortunately I’m also having no issues seeing the video with the exact same specs:

DevinHey odmv91!
The one_full will add a container around the element I believe. So removing it and only putting the slideshow in should generate the full width container.
Regards,
DevinHey!
Do you have a live url where we can take a look? The function should only be restricting the navigation to the same category but maybe there is something else going on causing a conflict or other interaction.

DevinJuly 15, 2014 at 7:17 pm in reply to: Issues with Portfolio Grid after upgrade from 2.7 to 2.9.1 #291770Hey loudcow!
See the notes on the 2.9 blog post: http://kriesi.at/archives/enfold-version-2-9-images-with-hotspots-new-lightbox-and-some-portfolio-love
With the ability to have full width portfolios you will need to wrap your portfolio elements in a 1/1 column to keep them inside of the main site container.
Cheers!

Not sure why they would be seeing something different but with an updated ie9 (native application) on Windows side by side with chrome I have no issues:

DevinHey!
I would first suggest updating your theme files to the most recent version which includes and update to the LayerSlider plugin from the authors (from around the end of 2013). If there was an issue with a Firefox update then it would have been addressed in the updated version of LayerSlider.
I have seen a lot of users that needed to update/fix their LayerSlider slides after updating since the authors changed the way some elements are constructed and rendered so after updating you may need to adjust your slider and its new settings.
Best regards,
DevinHi YomStar!
It looks like the minification/caching done on the site is causing IE8 to not render correctly. Try clearing out those settings and then checking IE8 at each point to see where the source of the conflict comes from so that your settings can be tweaked to still support it.
Best regards,
DevinKriesi never updated the blank one from the bit.ly link so I created my own repo with a few included functions and the shortcode folder already set up.
When I move the documentation site to the new version soon that link will be removed in favor of the new downloads section pointing to my child theme (or potentially a further tweaked one by Kriesi). When I wrote and recorded the video for the child themes I hadn’t yet done the git repo yet :)
July 15, 2014 at 6:27 pm in reply to: Enfold CSS broke 3rd party, have Firefox info, Where is CSS located #291747Hi Ed!
Can we see the site and content live? It sounds like the plugin doesn’t have its css set specific enough so the themes general styling is taking priority.
Instead of ever editing the theme css you should add a new rule that targets the plugin code directly.
Regards,
DevinGlad its working for you now : )

July 15, 2014 at 6:22 pm in reply to: Minor Woo Commerce error issue: "No products found which match your selection." #291743Hey!
How do you have that shop page set up? Are you using the WooCommerce shop shortocode *and* the layout builder or just one? It seems like there might just be both and one of the wp queries is showing no results as a side effect of that.

DevinJuly 15, 2014 at 6:19 pm in reply to: Firefox and IE do not correctly displa sidebar dotted border #291737I’m not sure there is a solution then. Firefox renders the overlapping dotted borders incorrectly and there isn’t anything we can do to fix that.
You can have a dashed/dotted border on either the sidebar or the content but if its both then Firefox isn’t going to show them lined up.
Hey!
I’ve tagged the topic for Kriesi as I’m still stumped on what could possibly be causing the issue outside of a plugin conflict. Hopefully Kriesi will be able to shed some additional light on the misalignment.
Best regards,
DevinHi joemurphy!
Sounds like you may not have yet setup your own menu in the WordPress menus manager. Go to Appearance>Menus in the WordPress admin and you’ll be able to create and then set the newly created menu to be used in the main menu area. That will then make it so your pages don’t automatically appear in the menus.
You can even play with the themes mega menus from that point too: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/92503669
Regards,
DevinHey!
You need to set featured images for your posts so that WordPress has an image to use in the blog feed. It won’t automatically pull in an image inside of a post to use.
Cheers!
DevinHey!
Can we see your site live with the correct css Peter posted above in place? The spacing is incorrect in what you pasted back and its needed in order for the browser to properly target the promo box shortcode element.
Regards,
DevinHey!
That is actually exactly how the masonry script is supposed to work. On some screen sizes there will be a gap where the images can’t expand to fill the area completely. There is nothing we can do about it unfortunately.
Cheers!
DevinThe names are somewhat self descriptive so in the plugin you can see the “entry_with_sidebar_size” and its showing as 710×270. If you look at your blog page and inspect the image that is being inserted into the page its http://shortiedesigns.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Website-redesign-2-710×270.jpg – 710 by 270.
So you can change the dimensions, save, regenerate thumbnails and that will be that.
Hi!
Are they all in the same single category? The function will disable items from navigating across multiple categories and only allow it on those that share the same category. So if there are no others then it doesn’t show the navigation.
Cheers!
DevinHey!
Try using this plugin instead of adding to the child theme: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/
The child theme functions needs a bit more that just replacing that single setting to actually take effect and using the plugin above gives a gui to work with.
Regards,
DevinHey!
Not sure what you mean by it isn’t working. The css is in place it is in fact increasing the container that holds your text to the 800px wide that is in the css.
The images above the posts can also be reduced with:
#top .fullsize .big-preview.single-big { max-width: 800px; margin: 0 auto; }
Again though, the value of the max-width property is what will not determine the width of the content (on everything except IE8 which doesn’t support any media queries/responsiveness anyway).
Cheers!
DevinHey alfredscholten!
The size of the image as its displayed on the page is not determined by the image size setting. That sets the size of the image *loaded* into the page. So if you try and put a small image in, then it shows distorted.
What is the blog layout you have chosen for this page http://test.contrario.nl/?page_id=6646 ? It looks like its set to the Big Preview which is why the images are showing so large.
Regards,
DevinWhat page, on that domain is it specifically?
Hey Frederic!
See: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/change-the-default-font-size/
Cheers!
DevinHey Frederic!
See: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/move-from-a-local-installation-to-a-live-server/
Its not a one-step solution and there are other issues you’ll need to read up on like moving over the images/plugins but the plugin mentioned there is the best I’ve found for migrating the database.
Best regards,
DevinGlad we could help. Let us know if you have any other questions or issues.
