Thanks for the quick response, Victoria. It’s probably just open in my browser. Feel free to take over that page. And since it’s just a test page, no worries about losing any data or changes. Thanks!
Will do… thanks.
Good thought, Mike. Interestingly, that did not fix it for this user. Here are the errors from the console for when I try to close the modal…

Thanks so much, Elliott. That’s perfect. Is there any way to move that to a child-theme so it doesn’t get overwritten on update? Couldn’t I just create a div around the whole page and add the “noLightbox” class since the .noLightbox a is already there?
February 11, 2015 at 9:43 pm in reply to: LayerSlider WP scaling on responsive and background video letterbox issue #394694Hi Andy,
Apologies for starting too many issues in one thread. Should I separate out the button issue now?
Regarding the button, I added your code and it only served to make the button slide over 144px on hover so I removed it. I’ve added it back so you can see it.
As for the letterbox issue, it’s still there and slightly worse now. (I haven’t made any changes, so maybe a Chrome update caused this new behavior.) It seems to behaving somewhat like “contain” now (rather than cover) when I resize the window. That is, it letterboxes above and below or left and right depending on the aspect ratio of the window relative to the video.
Thanks again for sticking with this issue.
February 3, 2015 at 11:17 am in reply to: LayerSlider WP scaling on responsive and background video letterbox issue #389971Hi Andy,
Thanks for the css for the mobile button. That works to center it, but the button slides over to the right when you hover on it and try to click it.
I updated to v3.0.8 and it doesn’t look like any of the issues were resolved through the update.
Last, did you go into the admin and make any changes to the site? Please let me know if you do go in and make edits. Previously, the video was playing full-screen at smaller sizes just fine and now when I resize the window, I get black bars at the top and bottom. This had never happened before. (Also, this appeared before I updated so it’s not related to the update. I noticed it when I went to test your CSS from your last post.)
Thanks.
February 2, 2015 at 11:21 pm in reply to: LayerSlider WP scaling on responsive and background video letterbox issue #389733Hi Andy,
I’m thinking you may not have had a chance to read this thread. I mentioned the exact thing about the black bars going away when the window is resized in my post from a week ago. I also provided you with admin access in the private data of the very first post. Feel free to go in and take a look and test changes. If you do go in, please also check the issue with the button being off center (issue #4 above) as that one is quite problematic as well.
The only plugin I had running is Duplicator. I deactivated it which, not surprisingly, had no effect. It’s back on now.
Thanks for following up.
February 2, 2015 at 3:08 pm in reply to: LayerSlider WP scaling on responsive and background video letterbox issue #389336Thanks for getting back to me. However, that CSS doesn’t seem to make a difference for any of the issues.
January 28, 2015 at 9:19 pm in reply to: LayerSlider WP scaling on responsive and background video letterbox issue #387379Hi Elliott,
Thanks for the response. Which of the issues are you thinking is related to setting the color section height to 100%? #1 or #4?
Thanks for flagging. Keep me posted if you guys figure out a workaround or get it solved.
January 27, 2015 at 1:11 am in reply to: LayerSlider WP scaling on responsive and background video letterbox issue #385957This reply has been marked as private.January 26, 2015 at 7:14 am in reply to: LayerSlider WP scaling on responsive and background video letterbox issue #385258Here are a few more pieces of information:
1. I’m still having the issue with the black bars on the side of the video. I’ve noticed that if I drag to change the size of a window with the site loaded and the video playing that it is properly full screen. If I refresh the page at that same dimension, though, the black bars appear.
2. I was able to get the layerslider responsive working by turning on the full width and then adding responsive below 1200px. That seems to work well enough, though, I would like to have it adjust based on height as well. Not sure if I need to do 100% on slider height or what.
3. The button flashing issue is still occurring.
4. A new issue has popped up after I got responsive working and that is that the button doesn’t center at mobile sizes (very narrow widths). I’ve noticed that if I drag to change the size of a window with the site loaded, it stays perfectly centered. But if I refresh the page and it loads at mobile size (or when testing on mobile), the button is off center.Thanks.
January 25, 2015 at 9:57 am in reply to: LayerSlider WP scaling on responsive and background video letterbox issue #385065Also, the button slides in and flashes on the screen briefly at the beginning of the slideshow when it’s supposed to be hidden. What’s up with that? I checked my settings and there’s not any offset, so it shouldn’t be sliding anywhere regardless of timing and it definitely shouldn’t be showing before it’s delay time is up. Any ideas on this?
Hmm… not quite. I still want the backgrounds to change. But just not resize as the slider itself does.
The one you liked to does at least not stretch when the page is bigger than the background image. But it still shrinks down for smaller screens like tablet and mobile.
Let me know if I’m still not being clear and I’ll try to explain further.

March 9, 2014 at 5:27 am in reply to: page display and copy for Advanced Layout Builder pages #234351Thanks very much, Ismael!
I’d love to see a kind of “round trip” shortcode functionality in the theme where you could switch back and forth between the two editors and thus, easily copy the shortcodes into the default editor, and then switch back to the nice UI of the Advanced Layout Builder.
But I appreciate you sharing this tip for a way I can see the shortcode now. Thanks again!

Thanks for the help, Josue. I was able to get it figured out using the forum topic you linked to and playing with the CSS. I can post my CSS here if you think it would be useful to other forum members.
Thanks, Devin.
Hi Yigit, thanks again for the quick response.
As you can see, I wrote above
But this is only an issue sometimes, so I don’t want to disable the Visual editor completely by editing my User profile.
I’d really rather not go this route. I’m just asking if there is anyway to get the Advanced Layout Build to either remember which you used or set it to default to the Text editor. But again, I don’t want to have to disable Visual completely. Most of the time it is useful.
Thanks.
Thanks for the response, Yigit. I think I may not have been clear on what I meant.
What I mean is the two tabs at the top right of your linked image that say “Visual” and “Text”. Typically, when I work on a WordPress page, it remembers which editor I was using last (Visual or Text) and when I go to edit the page again, it opens that one.
As we all know, the Visual editor can often mess with our custom html code that we create in the Text editor. But this is only an issue sometimes, so I don’t want to disable the Visual editor completely by editing my User profile.
So when I edit text in, for example, an iconbox, I’d like is for it to do one of two things:
1. Remember whether I used Visual or Text for that particular iconbox the last time I saved it.
OR
2. Default to showing the Text editor and then I can click the Visual editor if I want it. That way, for the cases where I have custom code that WordPress might mess up, it’s not messed up simply by opening the iconbox box to edit it each time.Hopefully that’s more clear about what I’m trying to do.
Thanks.
That looks like the Advanced Layer Slider to me. It is full-width, but not full screen. I’m using the one that’s labeled Fullscreen Slider in the Avia Page Builder. I’ll post a link when I move the site from local to a dev server.
Thanks, Josue.
I click on the other users link from the thread you linked to and the page is no longer there. Was he using the Fullscreen Slider or the Layer Slider?
Hi Josue… I appreciate the response and ideas.
So the problem with a blank image for the second slide is that then my one image that I want won’t be there, right? Unless I set it as a background for that div, maybe? Would that work with the same scaling that the fullscreen slider uses?
I really like the way the fullscreen slider handles scaling for responsive in that it both scales and crops depending what the constraining dimension is. I tried doing a color section at 100% minimum with a fixed image background but the image had to be a set size and didn’t scale down for smaller screens and mobile and only showed a very small portion of the image.
