They are created with photoshop or illustrator, but you can use any software from those to or if on mac, Sketch.

That is happening because u have active animation at the icons, u can remove it and it will be fixed from the element settings

Have you contacted the author plugin?
Most probably he can let you know, how to load the CSS of the plugin after everything else, which will help you with that over-writting ( it is the default CSS rules, we do not do that to be honest ).

I am sorry but that element is not design to function like that.
You will have to do some other type customizations to make it function as that and most probably, to hire someone to do those customizations for you.Please do let us know if we can do anything else to assist you.
