    Hi Enfold team,

    I have to restyle a website, the design shows 2 buttons with links in the header:
    Button 1: ‘Vraag hier uw OFFERTE aan’, with a link to /offerte
    Button 2: ‘STORING? Bel direct + 31 (0)85 400 00 36’, with al link to this phonenumber

    I don’t know how to realize this in the same way the design shows. Hopefully you can help me how to create this?
    Tnx in advance!

    Greetz, Esther

    Hey esther nijhuis,

    You could try adding those buttons in a widget in the header: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/header/#adding-a-header-widget-area

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

    Tnx for your suggestion. I followed the instructions and it works to edit the header with text.
    But I can’t get 2 buttons on the right above the menu.
    – I tried with code, but it only works with 1 button (I’m not good with code so maybe you have better code?).
    – I tried with the advertising widget (2 images with links), the images appear through the logo on the left….
    Can you tell me how to realize it like the design-url?

    Best regards,
    Esther

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update. I can’t see a widget in the header on the site you linked to? We would need to see the actual content in order to give you accurate CSS.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

    The widget is active now, I placed code for 1 button.
    The link of the button won’t work, the links in the menu-area beneath overrules.

    I would like to have 2 buttons above the menu and if possible the sentence in 2 lines, like the example of the new design.

    Tnx in advance :-)

    Hi,

    Please try the following in Quick CSS under Enfold->General Styling:

    #custom_html-4 {
      z-index: 1000;
    }

    Also please add the rest of the content in the widget.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

    I did what you suggested but know the layout of the site is a mess.
    I leave it for now so you can see what I mean.

    Hope you have another suggestion?

    Best regards,
    Esther

    Hi,

    Please try to deactivate file compression under Enfold->Performance to see if that helps.

    Hi,

    Thanks, it looks good now :-)
    However, the main menu is not clickable. If you hover further down with the mouse, you will find a place to click through. Can this be fixed?

    I have 2 more questions to get the header area the same as the design:
    – Could there perhaps be more white space between the 2 buttons and the main menu?
    – Is it possible to break the sentences in the buttons so that 2 lines are created and the button becomes more square instead of stretched? I tried inserting <BR> in the sentences but that doesn’t work.

    Thanks for your patience
    Esther

    Hi,

    Please try this CSS as well:

    nav.main_menu {
      top: 75px;
    }

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikart,

    Thanks for the code! This works perfect!

    1 last question: is it possible to make the buttons square instead of long stretched?
    That would be great if you have a suggestion.

    Hi Rikard,

    My client was pleased with the result so I replaced pages: threw away old pages and replaced the new ones with the URL of the old one.
    Now the buttons in the header widget are no longer visible. Could you help me get this visible again? Sorry for the inconvenience….

    Best regards,
    Esther

    Hi,
    Typically deleting pages will not cause the Adding a header widget area to no longer work, perhaps you also deleted the header widget area, please check the documentation again and ensure that it is in place.
    If you need further help please include an admin login in the Private Content area so we can be of more assistance.

    Best regards,

    Hi Mike,

    Tnx for your answer. The problem is solved.
    The ‘problem’ was caused by updating the Enfold theme and so I lost the code I added in function.php.

    I have to remember now that I add the code after every update. Or is there a similar code to put in the quick style area?

    Best regards,
    Esther

    Hi,
    If you are not using a child theme you could use the WP Code plugin then add a new snippet, in the top right corner use the PHP snippet as the code type:
    use wpcode php snippet and activate
    and ensure that it is activated, then add your code and save.
    Shall we close this thread then?

    Best regards,
    Mike

    #1466444

    Ah thanks for this option. Yes we can close the thread.
    Thanks for your help and also to Rikard :-)

    Best regards,
    Esther
