    Dear Enfold-Team

on our website (see private comment) we have the problem, that the burger menu is not opening on mobile.
There are no caching plugins installed, other AJAX plugins neither.

Do you know what could be the reason?

BTW: Your advice to update does not help a lot, as I tried copying the purchase code, but it was not accepted. It would be mucbh easier doing an update with the purchase code than with an “I dont know how” to be created token.

Thanks in advance helping us solving the burger menu issue.
    Thanks a lot
    Tobias

    Hey tobiasfries12,

Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.8.7.1) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. If that doesn’t help, then please post admin WordPress login details in private.

If you need to create a token, then please refer to this: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hey Rikard,
I am sorry to say: but your way of updating is a pain in the a**
Getting the personal token? Why? Other providers can work just with the purchase code.
Why a 6-step update to-do list, when others are able to implement just adding purchase code and a button called “update”.

I tried the personal token, but since we bought many (!!!) licences of Enfold in different projects, I don’t know if the personal token is related to one licence or to the account, on top it’s a hazzle.

I tend to switch to another theme, as lately Enfold is causing more and more trouble and also the functionality, that 5 or 6 years have been advanced, are rather standard in today’s themes.

–> so unfortunately I don’t feel able to update with this list, please provide an easier way!
    Thanks!

Seriously, two different links with complex instructions for an UPDATE!
    Why not a GIT-Hub link directly…

    Hi,

The updating procedure is decided by Envato/Themeforest, please direct any complaints you might have to them. If you can’t follow the steps in the documentation, then maybe it would be better to simply update manually via FTP? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/install-enfold-theme/#ftp-install

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hello Rikard,
I just tried to manually update via FTP.
Unfortunately we use the Child Theme, and in the current download there is no Child Theme folder.
So how do I do the update via FTP if I don’t have the files?
    Thanks a lot,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

You are not supposed to update your child theme, since it’s only there to override the parent theme. The only time you need to update files in a child theme is that if the structure of the parent theme files have changed, or if you need to change the code which is added or overriding default theme functionality.

You can download an empty child theme here, if you should need it: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/child-theme/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,
    thanks a lot.
    This means, that I
    1. overwrite the regular theme
    2. and do not do anything with the child theme?
    Thanks for a quick reply,
    best regards
    Tobias

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

    1. Yes, but you can upload the new files to a temporary folder first, like enfold_new for example. Once the files are uploaded, then you can test the new version by activating it in WordPress. If it works with your child theme, then you can delete the old folder, and rename the new folder to only enfold.

    2. No, unless you run into any problems with the files you are overriding.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
