Hi, after updating to the latest wordpress version my site does not work anymore and gives an Enfold related error:

Which version of PHP are you running? If it’s lower than 7 then please try to upgrade to 7.1 or higher. If that doesn’t work then please try to restore the site from a backup.

RikardHi Rikard, am running PHP version 7.1 and I can only enter the site in Recovery mode. No backup restore possible. Site in dashborad says it is Enfold that has a problem to load : ERROR: This theme failed to load properly and was paused within the admin backend.

So you don’t have backups of your site? That is the first thing you should do before updating, you should always take WordPress maintenance seriously. Otherwise you end up in situations like this.

RikardI have a backup, but the plugin that handles the backup doe not allow more than 512Mb upload, and they only tell you when you try to imprt the backup…

Thanks for that, I see that you are running a very old version of the theme, could you try to update to the latest version (4.5.7) to see if that helps please? The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
