Hi,
our website crashed down due to a huge wp_options table that contained over 5M lines with 40GB size! I used the WP-Optimize plugin to clean up this table and reduce the size to ca 2.5 MB. I have also turned off all merging and compression on the Performance tab of Enfold Theme options so there are enabled only:
– Self hosted videos and audio features (WP-Mediaelement scripts) – Default only load when needed
– Disable Emoji/Smiley Support
– Responsive imagesHowever, this morning the wp_options table increased from 2MB to 51.6 MB with 745 lines. I’m afraid the situation starts repeating and the size of this file will be enormous in a few days again.
I read the relating thread about “cleanup wp_options table” at https://kriesi.at/support/topic/cleanup-wp_options-table-aviaasset_avia-head-scripts/
Anyway, this is quite suspicious that the size of wp_options table is being increased despite the fact I have deactivated all options in Performance of our Enfold theme.
What should I do to prevent increasing the size of wp_options table?August 12, 2020 at 5:37 am #1236833Hey cukrmi,
Sorry for the problem. Please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.

I’m sorry again. Now the attached details should work properly. I checked them.August 18, 2020 at 9:18 am #1238740Hi,
Thanks for that, login details are working now. First off, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.7.6.3) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.
Also make sure that you activate the Advanced Options toggle under Enfold->Performance, and try out the different options in the Unique timestamp of merged files and WP object cache bug dropdown. The bottom options should likely work for the problem you are having.

RikardAugust 18, 2020 at 9:29 am #1238744Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve updated the theme even though I rather suppose that settings relating to Unique timestamp under Enfold > Performance may affect and hopefully solve the problem (after 5 days wp_options had 130k lines and the size 127MB – I cleaned using WP optimize plugin and we will see if the change in settings prevents the increasing size of wp_options).
Best,
Michal

VictoriaAugust 19, 2020 at 8:42 am #1239053Hi,
I’m not sure if it helps us. Today I found out the size of wp_option was 50 MB. I have changed the setting in Enfold > Performance from “FIx WP Bug, add unique timestamps” to “FIx WP Bug, disable unique timestamps”. However, if it doesn’t change anything, I won’t know what to do tomorrow.
Best,
Michal
August 24, 2020 at 4:52 pm #1240410Hi,
Did you delete the following entries in the database after disabling the timestamp? After deleting these entries, the theme will just regenerate them automatically when necessary.
aviaAsset_avia-head-scripts aviaAsset_avia-footer-scripts aviaAsset_css_filecontent aviaAsset_js_filecontent
Please note that these entries will contain the content of every js and css files in the site, so expect the entries to get big specially when there are a lot of plugins installed in the site.
If you’re still having the issue after deleting the entries, you might have to just disable the Performance > File Compression settings and instead use a third party plugin such Autoptimize or WP Super Minify to minify or compress the resource files.

IsmaelAugust 25, 2020 at 7:56 am #1240595Hi,
I checked the wp_options table today and found out its size is only 3 MB.
The mentioned lines aviaAsset are not in our wp_otpions table.
Anyways, it seems the problem has been fixed. Perhaps, it lasted a few days to apply the changes from Performace?Best,
Michal

August 25, 2020 at 2:56 pm #1240674Hey!

Did you disable the Performance > File Compression settings? The avia asset entries should be automatically added in the database when the option is enabled.

IsmaelAugust 27, 2020 at 11:33 am #1241168Hi Ismael,
I’ve already disabled all file compression settings before. Maybe I had to wait a few days that all changes from the Performance tab were applied.
I have also removed some lines related to removed plugins such as Updraft that were still in our wp_options table.
Now our wp_options table has 588 lines and 2,8 MB that is suitable. No increasing size happens now. All is good.Best regards,
Michal
