Using the RSS widget, the links generated open in the current window taking users away from my site. Is it possible to make them open in a new window?
Regards
Sam
Hi Sam,
Open /framework/php/class-framework-widgets.php and look for line 739:
$output .= "<a href='$rss' class='asc_rss $addClass'>".apply_filters('avf_social_widget',"", 'rss')."<strong class='asc_count'>".__('Subscribe','avia_framework')."</strong><span>".__('to RSS Feed','avia_framework')."</span></a>";
Replace it by this:
$output .= "<a href='$rss' class='asc_rss $addClass' target='_blank'>".apply_filters('avf_social_widget',"", 'rss')."<strong class='asc_count'>".__('Subscribe','avia_framework')."</strong><span>".__('to RSS Feed','avia_framework')."</span></a>";

Thanks Josue
Can I do that within WordPress or should I access and edit the file from my c panel file manager? I don’t see the file in the WordPress Editor Tab.
Hey!
You can install this plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/solid-code-theme-editor/
Or do it via FTP.

Hey Josue,
Before I saw your reply I took the plunge and made the edit in my c panel file manager. I deleted the rss feed in WordPress and re-created it to be sure. Added the widget to my page but the feed links still open in the same window, taking users away from my site.
The feed is at the bottom of the content area under Goa me.

Hi!
That’s a WordPress native widget, to change it you’d need to change the WP files, however you can try using this plugin:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/rss-just-better/
Please note that this is out of the scope of the support we can offer.

Josue
Thanks Josue!
You are welcome, always glad to help :)
