Hey guys,
Please help!
I currently get a ‘White Screen of Death’ on a site I’m currently working on for a client of mine at http://bourtonfarmedfoods.co.uk
I’ve contacted the site host (Heart Internet), who has investigated and say it’s an issue with the theme.
I still have access to the backend of the site. I have updated all Plugins, WordPress and Enfold theme.
That’s when I ran into the ‘White Screen of Death’ issue. So I assume it’s to do with the updates I’ve performed.
Please find logins supplied privately.
March 5, 2018 at 4:39 pm #921560Please help ASAP!
March 5, 2018 at 4:59 pm #921588Hello, this has now occurred on another client’s websites after updating from version 4.2 to 4.2.5
March 5, 2018 at 5:01 pm #921589Hi,
We are very sorry for the incovenience, I’m trying to look into the issue now.
Best regards,
NikkoMarch 5, 2018 at 5:04 pm #921591Thanks Nikko, much appreciated.
Great theme and support to match. I’ve been using Enfold for a long time now. This is my first real issue.
March 5, 2018 at 5:12 pm #921601The second client I mentioned is, in fact, my own site at http://www.goodink.uk
But let’s deal with the first client for now.
March 5, 2018 at 5:14 pm #921602Hi,
You’re welcome, I was still checking on the issue via ftp when suddenly I am disconnected and got this error:
Response: 530 Sorry, the maximum number of clients (3) for this user are already connected. Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server
The thing I noticed is that in Appearance > Themes, the activated theme is enfold-original, but can’t find it in the files or in the themes folder, I have activated the enfold theme which is the right one, but you had this error:
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/php/asset-manager.class.php:265
which is similar to this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/uncaught-fatal-error-line-265/
Best regards,
NikkoMarch 5, 2018 at 5:22 pm #921612Are you able to connect via FTP once more?
I noticed the same 530 error too, as I was also logged in to FileZilla at the same time as you. Are you able to investigate again now that I have Quit the FileZilla application?
A little earlier today, I renamed the original Enfold theme folder to ‘enfold-original’ and then uploaded a fresh version of Enfold 4.2.5 to see if that solved the issue. I have now changed the name back to enfold and still have the issue.
Please help resolve.
March 5, 2018 at 5:34 pm #921626Will a simple downgrade to an earlier version of Enfold fix this issue?
March 5, 2018 at 5:41 pm #921636Hi,
Yes, a downgrade to the earlier version, or if you have a backup should fix it, can I try to check it a bit more?
Best regards,
NikkoMarch 5, 2018 at 5:43 pm #921641Yes, please feel free to check some more.
Failing that, are you able to provide me with an earlier version of Enfold so that I can downgrade?
March 5, 2018 at 6:13 pm #921666Nikko, you’re amazing! The site is now back up and running. What was the cause of the issue?
I also have the same issue with my own site at http://www.goodink.uk after enfold update.
WP Admin + FTP logins supplied privately.
March 5, 2018 at 6:15 pm #921667I spoke too soon. I noticed the site was up and running, now down again..? Hmmm
March 5, 2018 at 6:26 pm #921671Hi,
Can you try to check it again? I have made some tweaks, it’s working properly on my end but some missing styles.
Best regards,
NikkoMarch 5, 2018 at 6:29 pm #921674Perfect. All working and looking fine my end.
What was the solution?
I have more Enold sites to update and don’t want to encounter the same issue.
Also, need help getting http://www.goodink.uk fixing too.
March 5, 2018 at 6:45 pm #921682Hi,
This is what I did (via ftp): go to enfold > config-templatebuilder > php > asset-manager.class.php, and commented out this code in line 265-266:
$request['body'] = trim($request['body']); $filecontent = trim($filecontent);
Let us know if this temporary solution would fix it on your other sites.
Best regards,
NikkoMarch 5, 2018 at 6:52 pm #921686Thought it might fix my other site. However, it doesn’t..?
March 5, 2018 at 6:57 pm #921691Hi,
Can you try our temporary workaround in the meantime: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/disable-new-minify-merging-for-css-and-js-avia-merged-styles/#post-921266
Hope this helps.Best regards,
NikkoMarch 5, 2018 at 7:07 pm #921698That’s great! The temporary workaround has fixed the issue.
Thank you for your help with both of the above issues today.
Is it something I did wrong to cause these issues? Or is it a common issue with the latest version of Enfold 4.2.5
March 6, 2018 at 6:10 am #922055Hi,
Great, glad you got it working and thanks for the feedback. You haven’t done anything wrong, the problem is ours unfortunately.
Best regards,
