The message in my Admin to update WordPress is missing entirely! I do get the message to update the plugins and your theme but not WordPress. According the the dashboard, Enfold is up to date but upon looking at my source code, it is not and there is a newer version! See below. Why does your theme disable WordPress updates? See below. I need to update both today. How can we get these programs up to speed?

    Theme: Enfold
    Version: 3.6.1
    Installed: enfold
    AviaFramework Version: 4.5.3
    AviaBuilder Version: 0.8
    – – – – – – – – – – –
    ChildTheme: nnn investment advisors
    ChildTheme Version: 1
    ChildTheme Installed: enfold

    ML:128-PU:79-PLA:14
    WP:4.6.1
    Updates: disabled

Downloaded plugin and nothing happened. This is serious because my WordPress is becoming outdated that some of the plugins are not compatible with my version of WordPress! What next?

    Hi,

By WordPress updates you are referring to theme updates, right? Please remember that those are separate things. Could you try contacting your hosting provider to see if they are blocking traffic and/or cron-jobs from api.envato.com please? That might be the reason. You can also try to update the theme manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Yes, I’m referring to theme updates as well as WordPress updates. I cannot update either one. If you go to the website and view source code, it reads:

    ML:128-PU:79-PLA:14
    WP:4.6.1
    Updates: disabled

I contacted Godaddy and asked about the cron-jobs and so forth and they said it is the theme causing the problem. In another thread somebody else was having the same problem and when they re-downloaded the theme from FTP, it didn’t resolve their problem. It looks like it wasn’t resolved. If I try to download and install from FTP, won’t it be the newest version and will that be compatible with my current version of WP which is 4.6.1? I need to be absolutely sure because I don’t want to get fired for messing up my company’s website. The video for downloading is very old and says to open the version file which I did but haven’t gone any further yet. I can’t read it because all the text runs together in one big paragraph!

    Hi,

You can download the theme from themeforest ( https://themeforest.net/item/enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4519990 ) and wordpress from here: https://wordpress.org/latest.zip and then use ftp to update both. First I’d recommend to unzip the wordpress files and to upload them via ftp. Then unzip the theme files, go to wp-content/themes/ and rename the “enfold” folder to “enfold_bak”. Then upload the unzipped “enfold” folder into the wp-content/themes/ directory (final theme path should be wp-content/themes/enfold/) and check if everything works. If yes you can delete the “enfold_bak” folder.

    Best regards,
    Dude

I want to take care of this today so I appreciate your timely response back. Am i creating a database as WordPress instructs or do i skip that since I already have a database for the site?

I don’t know where the files go. What about installing WP from the hosting providers site?

    Hi,

Am i creating a database as WordPress instructs or do i skip that since I already have a database for the site?

You can skip that one and just go ahead with the manual theme update. You can find more info in the documentation.

    // https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#update-via-ftp

Please update the theme immediately when a new patch is available. The current version (3.6.1) is quite old.

I unpacked the full version and unpacked enfold folder to upload and after taking a second look, there is a duplicate of the enfold folder inside the enfold folder. It was taking so long to upload and that was the reason why so I deleted that folder. Are you aware that their is a duplicate of all the files?

Updating WordPress and the theme didn’t resolve the original issue I was having. What next?

    Hi,

Did you manage to update the theme to the latest version? We are not aware of any duplicate and Themeforest would have noticed if there is, because they check those files before making it available to the users. What was the original issue? I thought you’re having problem updating the theme automatically, so we suggested the manual update.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Yes, I have the latest version but I don’t have the standard message that WordPress or your theme is up to date and I don’t want to have to update each one via ftp everytime. I should have something that reads as such: https://cl.ly/3t1b0O0q2N1S

    Hi,

There will be a notification in the theme options panel when a new version is available. The site is currently using the latest version now so you won’t find any notification. You can check it in the Enfold > Theme Updates panel.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
