I just upgraded to WordPress 5.0 and breadcrumbs have suddenly appeared on every page except the home page. It looks like WordPress 5.0 changed the default breadcrumb behavior. How can I disable breadcrumbs.

    Hey khilliard1952,

You can set that on each page individually in the Layout menu. If you should need further help then post a link to where we can see the problem.

Everything was working fine for a few years. The breadcrumbs suddenly appeared when we upgraded to WordPress 5.0. The title bar settings in layout is set to “hide both” for pages. The website is https://www.powerdigitalsignage.com. I can give you temporary access to our wordpress admin if this would help.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update, though I can’t see breadcrumbs on any of the pages in your main menu. Where exactly is this problem happening? We might need backend access so please include login details in private.

I used the customizer to add css to hide the breadcrumbs. It turns out that the breadcrumb container (p tag) had an ID so it was easy to target with a “display: none;”.With this css addition I don’t have any breadcrumbs on any of my pages.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. Are you ok with that CSS solution?

    Best regards,

I’d like a better solution. What I can say is the page layout settings “hide both” don’t work in WordPress 5.0. So, you need to find out why and recommend a solution. It’s normal that a new release breaks things but I would suggest that your developers take a look at this.

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I can’t reproduce the problem a local installation though, so it’s likely that it’s something local to your site. Would we be able to see and reproduce the problem on your site?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

That’s ok, I will stay with my solution. But many people have this problem. I googled to find the solution.
