    Hi,
On the woocommerce shop category overview, images are randomly appearing cropped to 450 x 450 and others original size just reduced in proportion to fit. The woocommerce settings are set to 450 x 450 with no ‘hard crop’ activated. All images are input the same and all the same size.

    SEE IMAGE<a href='https://refer.wordpress.com/r/84/woocommerce/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'/ rel=woocommerce category catalog overview" />

Any ideas from your brain tank?

    Hi Rikard,

The site is now live so easier to access. Here is a link to demonstrate the behaviour.

    Hi Rikard
My mistake … It should be fine now! Please try again!

    Hi!

I don’t think WordPress is going to be able to resize that one as it’s 242 x 323 which means the height is a lot longer than it’s width. You’ll want to crop it yourself or upload an image with a better aspect ratio (width > height) so WordPress will be able to resize it.

    Best regards,
    Elliott

I don’t expect WordPress to resize in proportion, it is cropping to a ‘square’ image (same size width and height) which is fine but the problem is that it does some pictures and not others (even though all the pictures are the same size) so it is the inconsistency which is a problem.

    Hey!

If you notice at the bottom of this background image there are a few images cropped and when you re-size the window the more of the background image is shown and the bottom of the image is shown before the background image repeats itself. Please crop the bottom and reupload so everything will look seamless.

    Cheers!

Sorry Vinay, I’ve read your reply a few times but unfortunately I couldn’t understand what you want me to do.

I have just seen from my Firebug that the difference between the pictures that have cropped and those that haven’t is that the ones that haven’t do not have thumbnails generated in differing sizes. Any idea how I can generate the thumbnail I need to produce a crop?

    Hi!

How can we access the dashboard? It automatically redirects to the account page whenever we try to access the wp-admin. Try to disable the “Hard Crop?” option for the Catalog Images on Woocommerce > Settings > Products > Display panel then regenerate the thumbnails. https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/

    Ismael

PROBLEM SOLVED – NOTE TO ANYONE WITH SAME PROBLEM…

I was nervous to force a complete regeneration of all thumbnails as it was only a few that were not cropped properly. I simply deleted the picture in the product and uploaded it again (re-naming it of course). Worked perfectly.

Thank you for all your input and patience!
