Hi there,
Just updated to 4.5 via ftp and am getting a white screen on every page, including wordpress backend. Please help!November 13, 2018 at 1:24 pm #1032997Hey topergarden,
Please try to completely delete all the theme files via FTP, then try to upload the new version again: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 13, 2018 at 9:31 pm #1033177Hey Rikard,
Tried that, but it didn’t work. Also tried disabling plugins through wordpress before re-installing. Any other ideas?
Thanks!November 14, 2018 at 7:08 am #1033362Hi,
You are getting an internal HTTP ERROR 500 error which is a very general error message. Maybe you could try to restore the site from a backup and then perform the update on a staging version of the site first?
Best regards,
RikardNovember 14, 2018 at 7:23 am #1033368Thanks Rikard,
Unfortunately I don’t have a backup. If I remove the Enfold theme, I can at least get into the WordPress dashboard. Do you have an earlier version of the theme I can try rolling back to? I was on 3.x beforehand but could try something more recent.November 14, 2018 at 7:46 am #1033370Hi,
I have attached v4.0.7
but please check your PHP version to ensure you are using at least v5.6*Please note that if you update via FTP, you will need to remove the old theme folder “enfold” first (via FTP) then upload the new “enfold” folder at /wp-content/themes/enfold/
Please don’t try to overwrite the theme folder, as this will leave old files behind and cause errors.Best regards,
MikeNovember 14, 2018 at 8:21 am #1033376Thanks Mike,
Yes, I’m running 5.6.I’ve installed 4.0.7 and all is working well again. Thanks!
Cheers,
ChrisNovember 14, 2018 at 9:03 am #1033385Hi,
That is good news, are you going to try updating again?
When you updated did you delete the old enfold folder first, or did you try to overwrite the old enfold folder?Best regards,
MikeNovember 14, 2018 at 10:49 pm #1033721I’ve tried updating again, and get the same result. And yes, deleted the old enfold folder then uploaded new one.

November 16, 2018 at 6:45 am #1034296Hi,
Thanks for the WP login, I see your PHP version is 5.2.17
Please update this to at least v5.6, after you update your PHP on your server please check on your site at:
WordPress > Dashboard > LayerSlider > Options and click “System Status” and look under “Server Settings”
Please let us know when you have done this and I will update your theme if you wish.I was not able to login via FTP even with a NZ VPN, Please see the screenshot in Private Content area.
To update I will try to use your webhost file manager via cPanelBest regards,
