Hi
I have not used my site for about 11 months, and when I went in discovered a mess on my backend pages, even after I updated all things I could, plugins, enfold, wpress etc. I even tried deactivating plugins, but no change.I am a DIY sort of person, not IT technical. I read a thread about changing some things in the enfold main settings, but fiddling hasn’t changed anything.
Specifically, When I go to any page, ie ‘contact’ slug, or session-pricing slug
1. there is a new section called classic which is full of code. I just want to keep using avia layout. How can I keep using just avia the way it used to behave a year ago – type text in and see it in the section?
2. If I open my avia content, it is now full of code and is telling me I have html content…, where there was once just my text. What has happened?!
3. If I do change something, like add some text, in classic or avia, it breaks the layout on the frontend, so I have to restore to older version.FYI I will log separate ticket, but you will see the content is not updating on front end, if I change it in the new classic bit or in my avia. Just an FYI for this ticket.
August 2, 2019 at 12:30 pm #1124145Hey burtonimagery,
Sorry for the problem. I see that you are running an old version of the theme, could you try to update to the latest version (4.5.7) to see if that helps please? The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options. That should bring everything back to as it was before WordPress 5.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
