Hi –
Discovered that content on my website is no longer viewable! I’m using Enfold 4.4. Do I need to upgrade to make the content viewable again?
Please help!
Thanks, RS
February 17, 2019 at 7:37 pm #1067963Hey bigcon6_wp,
I took a look at your page and was able to view your content, Please see the screenshot in Private Content area.
What are you seeing, a blank white screen?Best regards,
MikeFebruary 17, 2019 at 7:59 pm #1067967Hi –
The screenshot you sent me *just* appeared a few minutes ago. I had called my ISP to see if there were any service issues (there weren’t). I go back in to find that all my settings for the theme were completely blown out – which is why you now see that page. Now WP shows that I’m using Enfold, instead of Enfold Child. See screen shot from older browser session, newer browser session and what the website looks like at 12:50 pm (EST).
What do you recommend? Reinstall Enfold? How do I get the Enfold Child back (is that a separate purchase?)?
Reinstall wordpress?
Any guidance welcome.
Thanks.
February 17, 2019 at 10:03 pm #1068040Hi,
The child theme is free, Read here about the Child Theme
If you have it installed then you should be able to go to WordPress > Appearance > Themes and choose it as the activated theme.
Did you have a site created, or were you working on one?
Perhaps it would be better to include a admin login in the Private Content area so we can look.Best regards,
MikeFebruary 17, 2019 at 10:38 pm #1068053Hi Mike –
This site was created about three years ago. We did a refresh of the homepage about 4 months ago. I’ve only made slight updates since then. I was working on a contact form which would send info directly to our CRM (yesterday), but on a test page. That’s about it.
Early today I made a backup of the site (post all of this mess), just in case the pages themselves disappear.
Addition info in private content area.
Thanks,
Rebecca
February 18, 2019 at 12:37 am #1068070Hi,
Thanks for the login, your child theme is still there, I activated it for you, but your pages don’t seem to be working because you are using WordPress v5.0.3 with Enfold v4.4 you will need to update. We are now at v4.5.4
I see that you have PHP Version: 5.5.38, the minimum recommended version is v5.6, v7.0 is better.
Here are the steps to update with the plugin
First go to your Theme Forest account and download the “Installable WordPress file only”.
1: please install the plugin: Update Theme and Plugins from Zip File
2: then go to WordPress > Themes > Add New > Upload
3: after the install, click “Return to Themes page” (NOT Activate)
4: success:
Best regards,
MikeFebruary 18, 2019 at 5:07 pm #1068470Thanks Mike.
I’ve updated the theme per your instructions and the settings seem to be back to normal, though I haven’t checked all of them. I’m now back to the original issue of not seeing any content. See screenshot in private area. I will also look into updating PHP.
Any suggestions of additional troubleshooting for the ‘no content’ issue?
Thanks

Yet another update. The homepage now appears, as well as the ‘Resources’ page. I’m not sure why content appears for just those two pages.

February 18, 2019 at 6:18 pm #1068520Hi (again) –
Yet another update. It looks like all pages are now appearing as expected. My prevailing theory that it took a while for the switch over to PHP 7.0 and to update all the cache, .html, etc.
I think I’m all set. Thanks again for your help.

RS

Thanks for the updates, I took a look at your site and everything seems in order. I assume we can close this now, but I like to ask. Shall we close this then?Best regards,

I should have been more explicit. Yes, please close the ticket. Thanks for your help.
