I’m a little desperate because I thought I could put a video in the background on the home page, but it doesn’t work. On Chrome, the video never starts, even if you refresh the page several times. On Mozilla and Safari, the video only loads after refreshing the page (there is black background when we arrive on the site before refresh).
I sadly had to remove the video from the home page and put a slideshow instead but as my client is a videographer, I would like to find a solution to be able to put his video in the background. I created a test page with the video (“test accueil”).Could you help me to find where the problem comes from ?

Thank you for the inquiry.
Please note that only muted videos are allowed to automatically play on page load. Did you mute the video? We didn’t find any color section in the home page with a background video, so we are not sure if the video has been muted or not. Please provide a link to the page containing the background video or a screenshot using imgur, savvyify or dropbox. Thanks.

It is a muted video. It is not on the home page. It is on the page whose title is “Home test”. I will only put the video back on the homepage when I have found a solution to my problems.
Could you take a look why the video does not play at all on chrome? and why do you have to reload the page so that it launches on safari and mozilla?

Thank you for the update.
We were able to reproduce the issue on Safari and the only clue that we got is this error, which seems to be related to the fullscreen policy of the browser.
Feature policy 'Fullscreen' check failed for iframe with originPlease try to edit the themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/slideshow/slideshow-video.js file and add this code around line 248..
ifrm.setAttribute("allow", 'fullscreen' );.. just below this line of code.
ifrm.setAttribute("src", this.$video.data('src') );You may need to toggle or temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings and turn off the cache plugins before testing the page again.

Thank you for your message. I added the code. But the problem persists. I have to reload the page on mozilla and safari for the video to start, and on chrome the video does not work at all. Any other idea please ?

Thank you for the update.
Can we access the site using an administrator account? We cannot check the plugins and theme options using the current login account. Have you tried disabling the plugins temporarily?
I chose enfold for this site because I thought it would be possible to put a full screen video in the background.
Background videos work fine on other Enfold sites including those in the demo. There is actually a dedicated article for this feature and a few tutorial videos.

The background video in your demo page does not work on chrome (it never starts). And it struggles to load on safari (you have to refresh the page 1 or 2 times for the video to start). My internet connection is excellent and I have fiber. Something that only works on mozilla is not an option for me..
I love the enfold theme, I use it very often for my projects and I will continue to do so. But I’m still disappointed that I couldn’t do what I wanted for this site..
I hope one day you find a solution for the video to work on all browsers

Thanks for your feedback, but the background video is working for me in Chrome.
I took a look at your page but the slider was showing shortcode in it:
I was not able to investigate further because the login you gave us is not admin so we can not see the theme settings or investigate.
So try disabling all of your plugins and try again on a new page, but if you continue to see this shortcode then there is a conflict somewhere.Best regards,

Thanks for your feedback. I added the caption shortcode to display a text rotator over the video.
After several tries, I may have found a solution to my problems. If I upload a very short mp4 video directly to the site, it seems to work on all browsers. My client will therefore prepare a short video that we can test in the background.
